Chapter 5 – I want to become stronger!
Lin Ling admits he is a lolicon. For Annie this loli hero, of course he has some unique feelings. When he thinks that he just slept with Annie last night, Lin Ling felt heat running through his body.
Kneeling down on one knee, and ignoring Annie’s angry face, Lin Ling stretched out both his hands and grabbed her little tender hands. “Beautiful lady, please forgive me for my rudeness. It was because of this accident that I was tired and unknowingly fell asleep. That would not have been the case if I could see your beautiful appearance earlier. Please forgive me, because from now on, I’m going to guard you for a lifetime.”
“A…a lifetime!” It was something natural that she stammered. Annie was only a child after all, and hearing such explicit words made smoke burst out from her small head. “This…Am I being wooed? This is too sudden! I’m not ready yet!” For a moment, Annie didn’t know how to answer Lin Ling.
To accept?
To not accept?
Annie, who doesn’t even have friends found it increasingly difficult to manage such topics.
Her small mouth move like trying to say something, but no sound came out at all.
Regardless of whether Annie agreed or not, there’s no denying that Lin Ling’s embrace last night made Annie feel very warm and at ease. It was like being in her father arms, and she enjoyed it pretty much.
For a while, Annie’s mind was filled with weird thoughts. Her feet quickly receded, removing her hands from Lin Ling’s grasp. “Big brother, this is just too sudden, please give Annie some time to think about it”.
Lin Ling was surprised, and his surprise was followed by a burst of ecstasy. One must strike while the iron’s hot! “Of course, no problem! Do not worry, you can slowly think about it. When you finally give me your reply, I’ll be your lifelong bodyguard!”
“A…a lifelong bodyguard!” Annie’s two little hands were holding her red face as she replied to him. “Yes!”
In Annie’s mind, when two people want to be always together means marriage. And the only thing she can think about marriage is an image of her parents embracing each other into a tight hug. Her purity of purity is the same as a blank sheet.
In fact, the meaning of Lin Ling’s words is only literal. He only hopes to stay close to the little loli and protect her. He does not have any evil ideas, much less the thought of getting married to her.
Being able to protect such a cute loli is enough!
However, Lin Ling forgot his pathetic combat abilities. Without exaggerating, not even a hundred Ling Lings would be a worthy match for little Annie, let alone protect her.
The previous anger on Annie’s face has completely vanished by now, and in its place was a shy expression. This is extremely fortunate for Lin Ling. Luckily he acted fast enough before the crazy loli could cast any spell on him. He doesn’t know how close he was to the gates of hell at that moment.
“Little Annie are you hungry? Would you like big brother to give you some grilled fish?”
Originally Annie was not hungry, but after Lin Ming mentioned it, she remembered she has not eaten since last night! Her small belly made a sound of protest, and a crimson color creeped up her cheeks again.
“Oh” Listening to the sound of Annie’s stomach, Lin Ling smiled and subconsciously rubbed her pink hair. When he realized he just touched her without consent, he was quickly overwhelmed with shock and yelled to himself: “Are you crazy Lin Ling!? Do you still dare to touch her like this even after seeing the gruesome death of the double-headed wolf!? Wait…dead? Right! The wolf is dead and I’m still thinking of eating fhish!? Am I really that stupid?”
“Hehe!” The envisioned violent and highly murderous rejection didn’t happen, but instead he was welcomed by Annie’s sweet giggle.
That spring-like smile hit a chord in Lin Ling and healed his heart.
“This…little Annie, if you have a knife, could you lend it to big brother? I want to make a barbecue with the wolf’s flesh but I don’t have a knife…”
“…”
“I’ll give it to you,” said Annie silently. Lin Ling thought her tone was strange. She took off her little backpack and rummaged inside of it for a while. Soon, she took out a dagger with an exquisite scabbard and put it on Lin Ling’s hands.
Pulling the dagger out of its fund, the sight of a beautiful shining blade welcomed Lin Ling’s eyes. A number of rune inscriptions moved along the edge of the dagger’s blade, giving it a mystical appearance. The sharpness of the blade was so incredible that Lin Ling felt as if the light reflected by the dagger tried to pierce his eyes just by looking at it.
Although he doesn’t know a lot about knifes, with its appearance alone, even an amateur like Lin Ling can understand that this dagger is not ordinary!
Carefully holding the dagger in his hand, Lin Ling walked to the corpse of the two-headed wolf. Very soon, he noticed the extremely tough looking skin of the magical beast was being cut as easily as cutting tofu under the sharp edge of the dagger.
After moving out of his house to live alone in the dormitory, Lin Ling was responsible for his own clothing, food and transportation. So he collected a lot of life skills along the way. One of those life skills was butchering.
In Lin Ling’s eyes, butchering is a necessary skill for every average person that wants to live alone in the city. Going from simple animals like fishes or chickens, to animals harder to prepare like soft-shelled turtles, Lin Ling has experience butchering all of them.
Perhaps his nature is a bit bloodthirsty. Every time he sees animal blood there will always be an inexplicable sense of excitement.
With Annie’s dagger, the process of cutting the wolf was unusually smooth.
After the wolf’s flesh was cut, Lin Ling ran to the side of the river to clean the meat. He also carefully cleaned the steel dagger and gave it back to Annie.
However, Annie didn’t want to accept it and said: “I already gave you that dagger so don’t give it back. You can’t even beat a weak shadow wolf even after smiting it with your summoner magic. How can you protect me like this? First you need to be able to protect yourself.”
Annie’s words were like a sharp dagger twisting in Lin Ling’s heart.
Annie was right to say the he could not even protect himself. How could he become Annie’s bodyguard without strength? A sudden sense of urgency rose in his heart. He is no longer in the peaceful society he knows. He crossed to a world where only the strong can strive to succeed. Can he become strong enough to live in this world or will fail and become a stepping stone for other people?
“I must become stronger! Definitely!” A burning flame rose in Lin Ling’s heart as he looked deeply at Annie.
