The shareholders at the shareholders’ meeting were veterans who were very experienced in the business world. To be honest, they didn’t want to provoke either party.
Su Yurou’s husband, Gu Zihang, was the CEO of Gu Group and the prestige of her father, Su Jiankai, in the business world all these years could not be underestimated too. They had worked with both families for many years and would not want to spoil their relationship at this moment although their relationship was just a matter of interest.
However, Su Wan was forcing them to choose sides while Jiang Xuecheng was backing her. Just Jiang Xuecheng alone was enough to shake the shareholders’ determination because he was someone they could not afford to offend!
The shareholders glanced at one another and nobody wanted to talk.
Su Wan understood the mindsets of these veterans. Her eyes were shining.
“Since there’s no objection, we’ll start voting.”
Su Yurou’s face was ghastly pale. At that moment, her look had a sense of weakness and grievance which were difficult to hide. She looked just like a little white flower damaged by the wind and rain.
Su Jiankai looked at his own daughter with heartache and darted Su Wan a cold glance.
“Su Wan, do you have to be so extreme? No matter what, Yurou is still your cousin sister! How could you strip her off her post in public? How can Yurou keep a foothold in Sheng Yuan in the future?”
Su Wan’s beautiful face was calm as if she didn’t mind Su Jiankai’s interrogation. She raised her brows and smiled faintly.
“So you know we are in public and your daughter had said such evil words! I salute you!”
Su Jiankai had not expected Su Wan to be sarcastic. He turned pale and snapped, “Yurou is too straightforward and still young. Both of you are cousins, why do you have to fuss over such details…”
“Scolding others is equated to being too straightforward? Don’t use age as an excuse. Su Yurou is an adult now and she’s older than I am.”
Su Wan did not barge a single inch, making Su Jiankai’s body freeze slightly. He knew that the personnel appointment and removal could not be avoided. So, he wanted to ask a favor from the other shareholders.
Although Su Wan owned forty-six percent of Sheng Yuan’s shares, their family owned thirty-seven percent of shares too!
If only some people chose not to vote while some others insisted on not removing Su Yurou, then Su Yurou’s post would be secure.
However, before he could open his mouth, Su Wan had stood up and waved toward the shareholders.
“Time is precious. I believe everyone wishes to return to work quickly. We’ll now start voting. Those who support Su Yurou to remain as manager, please raise your hands. Those who do not support can just remain seated.”
When the shareholders heard this, they seized their hands tightly. If they had known earlier, they would not have attended this meeting. Now they were placed in a difficult position!
Su Wan saw Su Jiankai interacting with the shareholders with his eyes and several shareholders had started shaking and wanted to raise their hands. Su Wan gave out a treacherous and unpredictable smile, striking a chill into the veterans’ hearts.
“All of you are wise people. Everyone was present just now and had witnessed the incident. I hope you’ll make the right decision based on your conscience.”
Su Wan smilingly ordered Ah Si to do something and then waved her hand.
“Alright, I’ll not say too much. Let’s start voting. I’ll give you three minutes to think about it.”
Su Wan did not say anything to threaten them but everyone knew what she meant.
It was not good for them, whether they voted for or against the motion. In that moment, stiff silence enveloped the room.
Su Jiankai was the first to raise his hand. After a long time, he saw no one else raising their hands to support Su Yurou and he panicked!
Veins were showed on his forehead as he quickly walked toward Mr. Cheng, who was nearest to him.
“Mr. Cheng, you watched Yurou grow up. Don’t you want to help her at such a time?”
Mr Cheng turned around awkwardly and shook his head. “I wish to help but what’s the use if I am the only one helping you?”
Su Jiankai glared at Mr. Cheng but Mr. Cheng disregarded his glare.
Su Jiankai was extremely anxious and did not have time to plead further. So, he immediately walked toward Mr. Wu. “Mr. Wu, we wanted to have a lunch appointment previously to discuss some matters, do you think…”
Mr. Wu glanced at Su Wan as if seeking for help. When he saw Su Wan’s calm face, he calmed down and had enough confidence to face Su Jiankai.
“Mr. Su, it’s not that I don’t want to help but your daughter, a well-educated lady, had used foul language and said awful words to Ms. Su Wan just now…”
Su Jiankai’s flame of fury burned in his heart and his blood pressure almost rose hearing what Mr. Wu had just said.
Three minutes would be over soon and Su Jiankai had no more energy to waste with Mr. Wu. He ran toward Mr. Shen, who was sitting a little further away.
“Mr. Shen, we are old friends…”
Before Su Jiankai could finish his sentence, Mr Shen’s smile froze and quickly shook his head as he replied, “Mr. Su, please look for someone else. I can’t help you this time.”
Mr. Shen and Mr. Ouyang, who had sold his shares to Jiang Xuecheng, were good friends. Although Mr. Ouyang had not mentioned the inside story of the deal between him and Jiang Xuecheng, he had chatted a little with Mr. Shen.
Just a light touch on the means of Jiang Xuecheng had shocked Mr. Shen. So, among the shareholders, he knew best that Jiang Xuecheng was a person he could not afford to mess with!
Just when Su Jiankai wanted to try a little harder, Su Wan raised her wrist and looked at her silver watch. Then, she smiled.
“Alright, three minutes have passed. It looks like everyone here agrees to have Su Yurou dismissed from her post?”
Su Wan’s voice was not loud but because no one was talking, her voice echoed through the whole meeting room, stirring up ripples in everyone’s hearts.
Darkness took over Su Jiankai. He had not expected that not even one person among so many shareholders was willing to support him.
Su Jiankai felt all the colors in front of him disappearing. He supported himself by holding on the meeting table but his body could no longer hold on as he fell to the ground…
“Father, what happened, father!”
Su Yurou, who was crying because of the votes against her, ran toward her father to support him when she saw him fainting after being jarred.
“Father, take your medicine!”
Su Yurou’s hands trembled as she took out the pills which the doctor had prescribed from Su Jiankai’s pocket.
Su Jiankai swallowed the white pill and held onto the table in a semi-conscious manner. He gasped heavily, unlike his arrogant self in the beginning of the meeting.
Su Yurou was extremely pale. She glared at Su Wan gloomily and her voice turned exceptionally sharp.
“B*tch, are you happy that I’m no longer Sheng Yuan’s manager now?”
