“Now then, please die for my sake, Holy Rain”
Mylene threw spheres of light towards the sky. The pebbles of light pouring down from the spheres floating in the sky are, looking exactly like the rain.
“Shit! You guys keep your heads down!”
Gand pulls us who were befuddled towards himself, puts his shield up towards the sky in order to protect us. The pebbles of light that pour down from the sky, pour down onto the shield making rhythmical sounds. However, the intensity that is unimaginable from the sound, assails Gand.
“Guuu!? Wha, t kind of power is this!?”
Though Gand grits his teeth and holds his shield up with two hands, it looks to be quite tough. Shit, if it’s like this then I’ll leave it to fate and leave the shield to stop Mylene.
“Marie, use enhancement magic on me”
“Wh, what are you going to do?”
“Stop Mylene”
She may not be the Mylene we know but, we can’t just stay silent and be killed like this. I’ll capture Mylene and bring her to her senses!
I have Marie cast her magic on me and rush out from Gand’s shield. The pebbles of light pour down from the sky but, thanks to the enhancement magic I have Marie cast on me and the Physical Up that I’m activating, it’s only to the degree of me bleeding slightly.
I try to head straight for Mylene as it is but, a gigantic arm approaches from the side. The grotesque-looking thing swung its arm at me. Even though they stopped moving when Mylene appeared……don’t get in the way!
“Occupation Arts『Soaring Blaze Sword』!”
At the same time as the grotesque-looking thing’s approaching fist, I swing my sword upwards from below. The moment I swung it upwards, magic power gathers on my sword and clads it in flames. This is the effect of the Occupation Arts. When I strike the flaming sword at it is against the grotesque-looking thing’s fist, the flames started to spread from the spot we collided.
Undeads have been weak to fire since the past. As one would expect, the grotesque-looking thing hits the ground multiple times to extinguish its flamed fist.
It would have been better if I had used it way earlier but, if I were to rely on just this, my physical strength and magic power would run out instantly, I can’t really use it recklessly so I didn’t use it until now.
Leaving the burning grotesque-looking thing aside, I head towards Mylene. On the way, a grotesque-looking thing rushed towards me from behind. The grotesque-looking thing that rushed towards me continue rushing towards the robed person as it is but, it was stopped by Mylene’s barrier.
“They keep appearing and gather. It’s irritating!”
An angry roar alongside a devastating wind. And then Arashi who clad himself in wind passed by my side and headed towards the robed person before me.
“Die! Occupation Arts『Wind Heaven’s Strike』!”
Cladding the magic sword in wind with Occupation Arts and cladding himself with the wind that the magic sword possesses, it was swung down in order to destroy the barrier. The barrier easily splits and the slashing attack approaches the robed person. The robed person didn’t show any behaviour of moving but, he took a staff out from somewhere and knocks the ground with a ‘Kan’.
Thereupon, large numbers of skeletons appear from the ground and covered him as though to protect him. Arashi strikes with his magic sword the thick wall that the bones of numerous bodies piled up became.
The piled up bones were blown away and smashed into bits but, the robed person inside is without any injury, he prepared his staff towards Arashi.
“Dark Bullet”
And then, bullets of darkness that released from the tip of the staff. Though Arashi clads himself with the wind to avert the bullets, he was shot with a couple of them, rolling on the ground several times.
Arashi tries to immediately stand up and move but, hands of bones creep out from beneath his feet at that moment and grabbed onto Arashi’s leg. Arashi whose balance crumbled because of that fell onto the ground and the grotesque-looking thing got on top of him
I who thought that it’d be bad if it goes on like this tries to head towards Arashi’s side but, bullets of light flew towards me as though to stop me from proceeding.
“Geez, trying to leave me behind and go somewhere else, Lynk doesn’t understand a woman’s heart huh”
From the direction where the bullet of lights came, Mylene pointed her hand towards me and puffed her cheeks out in anger. Even the appearance that I find cute from before, I no longer feel that way anymore now.
“Shit, out of the way! Blow violently……”
“Oops, don’t let him”
The instant Arashi tries to use his magic sword, the grotesque-looking thing swings its arm downwards. Arashi’s right arm that was holding the magic sword, went ‘Gucha’1and was smashed by the grotesque-looking thing’s gigantic arm.
Arashi’s screaming voice echoes. As though responding to that voice, the surrounding zombies gathered towards us. Gand and Marie are also defeating the zombies in order to save Arashi but, overwhelmed by the numbers, they couldn’t get close. I as well couldn’t reach because Mylene is in the way.
“Don’t get in the way, Mylene!”
“You really are boorish aren’t you. Please at least enjoy your last dance with me”
Shit, as I thought, Mylene is getting in the way over here as well so I can’t move forward! And then while we were doing this and that, the zombies gather by Arashi’s side.
“D, don’t come over! Get away get away get awayy! AAAaaaAAA!!!”
The zombies fell into Arashi. And then mixing in with Arashi’s screams are the audible sounds of mastication. Before we know it, Arashi’s voice vanished and all we can hear were the sounds of zombies eating.
“Kyaaa!”
“Guu!”
When I look at Arashi who is surrounded by zombies, I hear shrieks from behind. When I turn around, there were the figures of Marie being held down by zombies along with, Gand who has the grotesque-looking thing on top of him like it did Arashi.
“You guys!”
“Oops, don’t move”
When I try to go the two of them, skeletons protrude from the ground. I who have both my arms and legs grabbed fell right there onto the ground.
“Fhun, catching someone of your calibre can be done whenever. Don’t get too cocky. At any rate, an A-Rank didn’t pose any problem at all. It’s simple if it’s this standard”
“Ara, you can’t take adventurers lightly, Nero-sama. There are strong people in A-Rank as well. It’s just that that guy relied too much on the magic sword”
“I’ll keep that in mind. Leaving that aside, hurry up and carry out the objective”
“You’re right. I have to finish up quickly and go meet him!”
Mylene who said that walks until she’s by Marie. Gand and I struggle violently to somehow move but we didn’t even budge.
“……Ar, are you really killing me, Mylene? Aren’t we comrades!?”
“Ee, that’s why at the very least I’m sympathetically killing you with my own hands. You’d hate it if you were to be eaten by the zombies and join their kind like that, right?”
In front of where Mylene is pointing, there was the figure of Arashi who was attacked by zombies just now. He became an unsightly zombie that got chewed apart here and there.
“What Marie can choose is to be a zombie like that over there or, to be killed by me. Now, please choose quickly”
“Wa, wait, wait a minute! I, I don’t want to die ye……”
The head of Marie who’s trying to say something while tears are flowing flew. It bounced off the ground a couple of times and rolls off.
“Times up. I want to go back quickly so please answer promptly”
Mylene who says ‘Geez’ as she continues to head towards Gand. To her nonchalant approach like she’s taking a stroll, I couldn’t move. When I realized, a sword created from light magic was being held in her hand. Did she killed Marie with that.
The reality that Marie was killed, slowly like the blood’s flow, goes around my head. The one before my eyes is no longer Mylene. It’s a monster with Mylene’s appearance.
I struggle violently to somehow move. Even if my arms are screaming out, I have to repulse the grotesque-looking thing that is on top of me no matter what and save Gand! But, unable to repulse the grotesque-looking thing with my strength, Gand’s neck was thrust with Mylene’s sword.
“Fuu, with this it’s two people. Now then, Lynk is the last one. Do you have any last words?”
“……You…..ore”
“Eh? I can’t hear you with your soft voice?”
“You whore! You fucking killed Marie and Gand! Even though they placed their lives on the line and came to save you! I definitely won’t forgive you! I’ll kill you! I’ll fucking kill a shitty woman like y……gaa!?”
I shouted towards Mylene and an impact ran through my head. Then as though I’m pushed from above, my face smashed vigorously into the ground and my nose was smashed. It should originally be quite an intense pain but, now is not the time for that. Because
“Oi oi, don’t insult someone else’s woman(thing)2”
the killing intent that pours from above my head is pouring down on me as though to stop my heart. And then the sensation of something stabbing into my body. The last thing that entered my sight was, the figure of Mylene looking at someone and smiling happily……
