Merlu-chan and I who are surrounded by the mayor and the others. The mayor and the others have blood running through their eyes, they don’t look like they will move aside even if I ask them.
The weapons they are holding are, a knife for the mayor, brooms, sticks and the likes for the maids and the others, the most troublesome would be the soldiers who have unsheathed their swords. It’s going to be rough but it can’t be helped. I take out the mace that’s hanging on my waist.
“Merlu-chan, please step back”
“U, understood”
The soldiers approach me at the same time as I’m minding Merlu-chan. Three soldiers, each holding their swords and approaching me. These guys also have blood running through their eyes, they are probably being manipulated by someone. Though whether it’s the black-robed guy or not, I’m not sure.
For now, I have to first get out of this room. Above being hard to move around in this small room, I can’t protect Merlu-chan.
One of the soldiers thrust his sword towards me. I swing the mace I’m holding in my right hand up towards the thrust that was aiming for my heart and let out a turning kick with my left leg. Entering the soldier’s flank, the soldier fell to the side.
A sword is being swung down from behind but, I repel it with the mace and strike it into his body as it is. Because the soldier recoiled from the force, we ran through from that side. When I took a glance at the back, Merlu-chan is also properly following.
The moment I kicked down the door and went outside, two soldiers who were outside looked over here. They are still, not manipulated yet? Is what I thought but, the moment the two of them saw us, they drew their swords and approached us.
What I’m even more surprised was, the fact that the residents who are walking in front of the mayor’s residence aren’t even surprised when they witness this sight. Normally, drawing the sword in the middle of the town itself is something that doesn’t happen. Even so, even when the residents who are walking in front of the mayor’s residence look over, there weren’t any astonishments nor shouts.
Are the people in the town already manipulated? I want to do something about it but, now isn’t the time for that. The two soldiers who are approaching from the front and the mayor’s group who are coming out from the house. Who knows what’s going to be done to us if we don’t break out of here.
“Is it you? The one who’s sneakily sniffing around?”
I thought that and prepare my mace but, in the next moment, there’s an impact on my back and I was sent flying. I look back to where I was without knowing what has happened and over there stood a person who’s dressed in a black robe. Behind the guy was Merlu-chan who has collapsed. Without even the slightest movement.
……I totally didn’t notice anyone getting close to me. It’s as though they appeared out of nowhere. How exactly? But, there was no leisure to think about that. The robed person released magic towards me.
Dark Magic’s Dark Ball. Ball type magic is the basic among the basics but, base on the practitioner’s ability, the shape, speed, rapid firing and the likes are possible, a good magic that’s easy to use.
The robed person who’s repeatedly releasing such Dark Ball towards me. I activate Light Magic’s Light Wall. Though It can’t block physical attacks, it can block magic, it’s a magic for facing up against magic.
While the Light Wall is blocking, I stood up and tried to prepare my mace but, the surface suddenly bulged up. Then, arms that protruded out from the ground grab my legs.
Zombies appear one by one from the ground. As expected, the one who’s manipulating the dead spirit type monsters is this person! The zombies who appeared around me approach trying to bite me but, I clad my mace in light attribute magic, firstly, I strike the arms that are gripping onto my legs.
Destroying the arms and confirming the strength of the grip on my legs has weakened, I shake off the arms that are gripping onto me, drive the mace into the side of the face of the zombie that approaches me and create a path.
I thought of saving Merlu-chan but, Merlu-chan who woke up has the same eyes with blood running through it as everybody. She is already being manipulated.
The brainwash will probably be undone if I defeat the robed person but, I’m outnumbered. I can’t win by myself. Though it’s frustrating, there’s no choice but to retreat. For the time being, I have to return to where Lynk and the others are.
“Do you think I’ll let you escape?”
The robed person waves his arm and, new zombies appear from the ground. Perhaps, the corpses in Merlu-chan’s story have turned into zombies?
There are about 20 of them. But, if the opponents are zombies then I won’t hold back!
“Light Magic, Lightning Spear!”
Spears made of lightning released towards the zombies. It sounds out as the zombies are pierced one by one. I can’t use it consecutively but, even so, it’s plenty to make the zombies flinch.
Leaving the mayor’s residence’s garden, I run in the middle of the town. I took a look behind me and, there’s no sign of them chasing me. As I wonder why is that so
“Didn’t I say that I won’t let you escape?”
The robed person suddenly appears before my eyes. How and why did it!? I didn’t understand. Then, the townfolks who are surrounding me before I know it. As I thought, it’s already.
My fruitless struggle was subdued within the large numbers of townfolks. And then the robed person stands before me. This person lays his hand on my head, activates magic and, my consciousness fades away.
……Lynk and the others……everybody, run……
“Creator, I’ve caught her”
“Ou, good work. But, there’s an unpleasant feeling from this fellow. What is this?”
“Fumu, it’s probably because she can use light magic. I’ve heard that since long ago, the ones who can use dark magic and the ones who can use light magic don’t get along. It’s possible that dark sorcery is the same as well”
“Heh~, well, this fellow still has her use so I shall make her do various things. However, why is she tied up like this?”
“Not a clue. One of the underlings tied it like this”
“Is it that guy’s instinct or something? It’s somewhat……tied to put emphasis on the breasts?”
