"Well, it does make sense. How could Lin Jiage be interested in her? She isn't tall, her figure isn't great, and her clothes are also so-so. With one look, you can easily tell that she's from a humble family. Other than her barely decent face, there's nothing about her that makes her worthy of Lin Jiage."

"Hah. Despite Lin Jiage's wealth, she's still wearing those rags. It looks like Lin Jiage really doesn't like her, he's not even giving her any money…"

The duo's voices gradually grew farther and farther away. In the end, Shi Yao could only hear the faint sounds of their disdainful sneers.

When everything outside finally quietened down, Shi Yao pulled the door open and walked out.

Immersed in her thoughts, she didn't notice that the door to the male restroom at the opposite end happened to open at the same time.

With her head lowered, she slowly washed her hands before walking away.

It was only when her footsteps echoed in the distance that the door of the male restroom finally opened fully, and Lin Jiage walked out.

For a moment, he stared at the sink which the young lady had used before walking up to it and turning on the tap.

After washing his hands, he lifted his head and looked into the mirror. The sight of her leaving the female restroom with her head lowered lifelessly flashed across his mind.

Did she hear what those women had said?

Lin Jiage's Adam's apple moved up and down twice before he recovered from his daze. Switching off the tap, he also left the area as well.

When Shi Yao returned to the suite, Lin Jiage was nowhere to be seen. However, Liang Mumu had arrived.

Liang Mumu had come with Shi Yao's favorite cake, but perhaps what she'd overheard at the restroom had affected her—Shi Yao didn't have much of an appetite. Her mind kept wandering as she ate the cake.

A while later, Lin Jiage returned.

Shi Yao put down her fork, intending to tell Lin Jiage that she didn't want to hang out anymore and wanted to go home. However, before she could speak a word, Liang Mumu, noting Lin Jiage's return, greeted him loudly with a bright smile, "Brother Jia!" After which, she said, "Since Brother Jia's back, everyone should be here. Why don't we start playing that game we were talking about just now?"

After saying those words, Liang Mumu turned to Liang Jiusi, who then placed a few poker cards and a box filled with paper slips on the table before he explained the rules, "There are only spades and hearts among the poker cards. At the start of each round, a dice is thrown, and the ones with the spade or heart card that match the number will pick a paper slip. The two of them will then have to do whatever's written on the paper slip. Let's just make it clear first, the one who refuses to do it will have to drink ten shots as a penalty!"

After explaining the rules, Liang Jiusi threw the dice first before distributing the cards and drawing a paper slip.

The first pair chosen were both men. The one with the spade card had to say the classic confession from A Chinese Odyssey 1 to the one who had the heart card.

The second person to hand out the cards was a lady whom Liang Jiusi had invited. She picked out a couple, and they had to hug in front of the entire room for thirty seconds.

The third person to distribute the cards was Liang Mumu. She picked Lin Jiage and Shi Yao, and the mission on the paper slip stated that they had to kiss for one minute.

Cheers rang out throughout the room. There were some who took out their phones, preparing to time the mission.

But time ticked by, and Lin Jiage and Shi Yao showed no signs of moving at all.

Gradually, the bustling suite grew silent.

"Aren't they an engaged couple? Why aren't they kissing?"

"Maybe Lin Jiage doesn't want to kiss her?"

The soft voices of two females could be heard. It sounded as if they were whispering to one another, but their words reached the ears of everyone in the room.

The atmosphere gradually grew a little weird.

Recalling the words she'd heard earlier in the restroom, Shi Yao couldn't help but dig her fingernails into her palms.

It was impossible for him to kiss her. If this were to go on, by the time someone proposed that they drink the penalty, she would only be placed in a very awkward position...

Rather than face that, she might as well propose to drink herself.

With this thought in mind, Shi Yao reached out for the shot cup on the table as her lips parted, "I—"

She'd barely said a word when Lin Jiage, who was sitting next to her, suddenly stretched his hand forward to lock the back of her head in place.

Her body froze. Before she realized what was happening, a shadow covered her face, and a warm and soft sensation came into contact with her lips…

A Chinese Odyssey is a film loosely based on Journey to the West. The confession goes like this, "There was once an authentic romance right before me, but I failed to cherish it. It is only after I lost it that I regretted it deeply. I suppose the greatest pain in the world is no greater than this! Should the heavens give me another chance, I will tell that lady, 'I love her'. If there must be a term to this love, let it be ten thousand years!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=el6SfBM9A7g
