Outside the surgery room stood Jun Yexuan and the others. Ever since the surgery started, they guarded outside.
Inside the Qi manor.
Qi Chengyan deformed his seal plushie out of depression, “Where did our sister go? Why isn’t she back yet?”
Qi Xingyu said, “I’m not sure. She just said she has something to do but didn’t give us any details. Big brother told us not to ask.”
Qi Chumian, “But big brother tagged along. So did that shameless bastard and his shadow. Why didn’t he let us go as well?”
Gu Zhen said, “They were the ones who were hiding our little sister and now they’re going places together. They must be hiding secrets from us.”
Qi Chengyu grabbed his jacket and wanted to go outside when Qi Xingyou stopped him, “Did you forget what our sister said to us? She doesn’t want us to go find her.”
Qi Chengyu stopped his steps. His face became frighteningly tight.
Chen Feijun said, “Though I don’t know what they’re doing, Yusen is there with them. I’m sure nothing bad will happen. Don’t worry too much.”
Qi Shengkuan said to Wen Yuzhen, “Our dearest granddaughter is still keeping things from us.”
Wen Yuzhen sighed, “Yeah, it’s likely because we aren’t nice enough to Qingqing.”
Qi Shengkuan, “You’re right! We need to treat our granddaughter better!”
Wen Yuzhen nodded, “Exactly!”
Everyone else, “…”
If this wasn’t good enough, what would be?
He Wanqing, who sat on the couch, felt her eyelids flutter. She had a bad feeling in her chest but she wasn’t sure what it was.
As she thought about it, she went outside to phone Qiao Qing. She dialed three times but nobody picked up.
Her heart felt even heavier due to this and so she called Jun Yexuan.
When he picked up, she felt better. In a hurry, she asked, “Where’s Qingqing? Is she with you?”
Jun Yexuan, “We’re together, auntie.”
He Wanqing, “Then why isn’t she picking up her phone?”
Jun Yexuan, “She’s treating a patient right now and it’s not convenient. Auntie, do you need something? You can tell me.”
He Wanqing’s bad feelings vanished and she smiled, “I’m fine. Let her do her thing.”
After Jun Yexuan hung up the phone, he continued to stare at the operating room door.
The red light above the operating room lit from 9 am to the afternoon. During those long hours, nobody left to eat or use the bathroom. All because the people inside haven’t left.
At around 3:30 pm, the operating room light turned from red to green.
The people that waited outside rushed in to greet them.
When the door finally opened, Qiao Qing and Hao Chengjian walked out.
Qi Yusen asked in a hurry, “How did it go?”
Hao Chengjian was a lot happier than Qiao Qing and much excitement pounced between his brows.
“Ms. Qiao is a miracle worker!”
Everyone was ecstatic, “The surgery was a success?!”
Hao Chengjian nodded aggressively, “It was a success! Ms. Qiao is the greatest!”
Qi Yuyang, “Then, did our uncle wake up?”
“Not yet.” Hao Chengjian said, “He’s still under. But he should wake up by tonight.”
Everyone was over the moon to hear that. Everyone except Jun Yexuan and Qi Yusen, whose gazes were glued onto Qiao Qing’s face.
Jun Yexuan used his sleeves to dab away Qiao Qing’s sweat, “What’s wrong? Aren’t you happy your dad is cured?”
Qiao Qing appeared to be in a daze, “During the surgery… dad… reacted.”
