This meal made everyone realize what it means to clear the plate.
If it weren’t for the fact that the maids recognized these wealthy people from their influential families, the maids would’ve thought they were homeless people who haven’t eaten in eight centuries.
Qi Chengyu smiled as he picked off a piece of rice that was stuck to Qiao Qing’s lips, “Qingqing, did you enjoy my cooking?”
Qiao Qing nodded and praised, “Delicious!”
Qi Chengyu’s grin deepened and he was even somewhat arrogant, “I will cook for you every day!”
Qi Chumian and others’ eyes lit up.
Mo Yao chimed in, “Mom, I’m going to crash at grandpa’s for a while.”
Mu Jinghang shook his head. So it looked like everyone in this family was a foodie.
As he thought about it, he picked up the last piece of vegetable from the dish and ate it.
Absolutely delicious.
After they ate, the majority of the Qi family prepared to return to the Qi manor. He Wanqing started to shoot glances at Qi Shengkuan and Wen Yuzhen. After much deliberation, she failed to call them “mom” and “dad”.
In the end, she gave up, “You guys can just bring Qingqing. I’m going to my in-laws.”
Wen Yuzhen froze, “I thought you said Qingqing’s father disappeared? Why would you go to his mother’s? Is she nice to you?”
Mu Jinghang rubbed his full and round belly, “Nice my @ss! Their family kept on trying to stir up trouble for auntie. Her in-laws have no sense of justice and don’t treat her right. While my third brother and I were staying in the City of Brisk, that family kept on trying to take advantage of auntie and Qingqing.”
Qi Shengkuan’s face dropped, “Then, my dearest daughter, why do you want to go back?”
He Wanqing answered, “Zibo has disappeared, but that doesn’t mean he won’t return. I’m sure that the day he comes back, he’ll be going to the Qiao family first. I have to make sure he can find me.”
Everyone fell into silence.
Qi Yusen and Jun Yexuan exchanged glances, then peered at Qiao Qing.
Qiao Qing grabbed onto He Wanqing’s hand and comforted, “Mom, let’s stay here for a while. I’ll send some people to the City of Brisk and if… if dad comes back, I’ll make sure we are the first to be informed.”
She couldn’t tell her the truth just yet. Because she wasn’t sure if she could save her father.
She couldn’t give her hope just to take it away later.
He Wanqing hesitated. She wasn’t sure what she should do.
Jun Yexuan added, “Auntie, don’t worry, I have people over there too. We won’t miss the smallest scent of uncle. You shouldn’t think too much and you should just stay with the Qi family. They’re your real family. You shouldn’t need to take all the abuse the Qiao family gives you.”
Qi Yusen also stepped up, “Stay, auntie. Don’t you want to live with Qingqing?”
In the end, He Wanqing was convinced and agreed to stay.
After they moved, Qiao Qing had truly fallen into the honey jar.
The 18 brothers circulated her and the parents spoiled her to death.
Every day, Wen Yuzhen took her shopping. Every day, a different brother of a similar face took her somewhere new.
Qi Chengyu cooked her different dishes for basically every meal and Qiao Qing’s room continued to get stuffed with more gifts from family every day.

Jun Yexuan on the other hand had a much more difficult time. Before Qiao Qing was officially in the family, he sometimes got to sneak into Qiao Qing’s room and steal a few kisses.
