The beginning of our begins but a few days before . . .

A good wind blew through the city of Celephiaus, petals from the amaranthuses[*]that was plentiful in the city danced in the air along with it.

A lone statue braved the winds quiet on the long ramparts that encircled the Capital Celephiaus, with two sides it stood watch. One faced beyond the wall, standing watch as if it was a General glaring down it’s enemies while the rear endearingly watched over it’s people inside the wall as they went about their day.

Bordering the east side of the Capital was the towering Alan mountain range with it’s heaven-reaching peak and ridges painted with snow. On the east side, it bordered a vast sea of blue, which was lapped at the piers of Port Serenella. From the piers to the streets, it’s streets bustled with life day and night, livelier than the Capital that bordered it.

And at the Capital’s center, towering over a temple made of turquoise, the castle that is defended by countless light towers; ” The Palace of Seventy Delights”. Decorated with a rose colored crystal adored Crown, the King Kuranes prayed for peace of mind to be blessed upon him for eternity.

This was the beautiful Capital Celephiaus, deemed the City of Light by the those who have been there.

However…

Where one casts a bright light, shadows will exist. Somewhere in the residential area, a shadow began to grow in the cellar of a small home.

There was a small figure, a man, who wore a thick robe with a hood that covered his eyes and obscured his face. In one of his hands was a thick tome, it’s spine and covers reinforced with rugged metal plates to protect it. In the other… It reached into the endless abyss of darkness.

The man was called “Menes Atar “. By who or when the name was first uttered, no one could say, but what could be whispered was that in the book he held… Was Fifty-five spells written to do something against the Morals of men, to call, to…

Summon.

A unnatural wind blew through the damp dark cellar, the light of the candle fluttered and began fading. It was warm, its origins could be traced to the chalk diagram he drew on the stone floor. At a glance, it was simple but anyone who had knowledge of magic could tell that it was interlocked with many tremendous spell, not but sight. By feeling it.

It was the ceremony of “Summoning”.

What did he wish to summon?

“Tivi · Mai Mumu · Innomi · Shiguna · Lovely · Goulder · Eh · Miso Fist · Sautery · Shimuru · Makina”

It was but a small whisper of a chant that leaked from his mouth.  From the hand that was reaching into the abyss, sparks of lightening shot out. Then a flash of light, that illuminated the cellar. Cursed lightening arced between his hand and the formation.

Just as the lightening came to life, the chalk formation glowed brightly with life. The wind that was gentle and warm before grew became a ferocious vortex. With the magic supplied and the Curse granted onto the Summoner, a light shined through and a foreign world could be seen fore a split second.. Then the light died and the wind ceased.

A clink echoed through the room as a mysterious metal object that was the size of his palm and black as ink, but it definitely wasn’t of this world. Picking it up, a ominous chuckle escaped his lips. What exactly did he summon?  What kind of power did he have? No one knew, but one was certain it would spell trouble for others.

Suddenly the Basement door was swung open, startling the man who was wrapped in his own devices.  The shadow of a well built warrior stepped through, his armor rustling as he walked as if it was his own home.

“Menes, are you still summoning, you’re making me laugh.”

it was a soldier of the Celephiaus army, but appeared to on friendly terms with Menes. Menes sighed, displaying his displeasure with the interruption.

“Did you need something? Please don’t disturb me while I’m busy..”
