Darkness fell upon her . Zhilan hid behind a towering tree . The shadows acted as another layer of darkness . It were as if she were enveloped in a dark cloud, hidden from plain sight .
In no time, the footsteps approached . Apart from the footsteps, there was also the sound of hiccuping .
“Darn!” The footsteps stopped .
Zhilan held her breath . Paid close attention to the words that were about to leave the other palace maid’s lips .
