Chapter 68
Flying against the wind, Li Xin felt the wind cutting her face painfully . The shocking speed her surroundings flashed past at could almost catch up with the speed of a horse when galloping .
Running, jumping, and swinging, Li Xin could only feel the back of her neck being held firmly in the aboriginal’s hand as her body kept swinging back and forth to the rhythm of his strides . Before her shouts could be used to its full potential, she felt a pain coming from the side of her neck, and her vision instantly darkened as she fainted dead away .
Time passed in a flash . Night had gone away and the sky was bright again . When Li Xin opened her eyes again, she found herself sleeping on the floor . Wait no, it shouldn’t be said that way . On the floor were some dried grass, somewhat covering the ground, and Li Xin was sleeping on that patch .
Quickly sweeping an eye over her surroundings, when Li Xin saw that there was no one else around, she quickly sat up . Looking around, she could see all the objects in the hut at a glance .
The extremely simple room could only be called a hut used to protect one from gentle winds and sunlight only .
The entire hut was built by tying together thick poles made of bunched up grass that were about the height of a human being . It’s walls had gaps that even a fist could fit in, so what could it even block .
Near the entrance of the cogongrass hut was a humongous oxen horn display that was one meter long . Li Xin didn’t know what breed of cattle could have this long a horn, or maybe it didn’t even belong to an ox, because near the end of the horn were odd black patches which somewhat made it look like the skeleton of some animal, yet also nothing like one . Everything was as simple and crude as it could possibly be .
The moment she had a good grasp on her situation, Li Xin stood up and silently moved towards the wall while looking through the fist sized gaps to observe the situation outside .
“You’re awake?” A rather dejected and cool voice suddenly travelled over, and Li Xin’s body that hadn’t managed to move into the corner yet instantly stopped . She looked towards the direction the voice came in .
She saw a golden haired woman with a big belly push open the door and walk inside . Her entire upper body was bare, and she only had on animal skin, which was longer than the one on the aboriginal yesterday, wrapped around the lower half of her body . She was holding something that looked like food in her hand as she walked over with a numb yet pitying expression as she looked at Li Xin .
A white woman . Her features looked like an ordinary human’s too, completely unlike the exaggerated ones the aboriginals had, and didn’t have their claws and their absurdly tall stature either . The woman’s face was unusually pale and cold, with the coldness revealed in that pair of eyes akin to a puddle of dead water, completely dead and without a hint of life . Her belly made it obvious that she was pregnant, however, it were so ridiculously huge it was as if she was pregnant with triplets or quadruplets, making the woman who was walking in feel extremely tired .
Li Xin instantly raised a brow when she saw the woman, and looking through the opened door, she saw that behind this woman were a few aboriginals talking as they left . Their words sounded like gibberish and she wasn’t able to understand what they were talking about, but she saw that those aboriginal women were different from the woman in front of her . Other than their naked top halves that had an ordinary woman’s unique features, the other parts of them looked exactly the same as the aboriginal men .
When the woman saw Li Xin staring at her silently, she shook her head . “I only know English, I don’t know how to speak Chinese . ” She obviously thought that Li Xin was from the east and didn’t understand her words .
“Were you also kidnapped?” Li Xin instantly frowned as she looked at the woman in front of her .
When the woman saw that Li Xin understood her words, she revealed a miserable smile . “I’m an avid mountaineer . I originally came here to try climbing this mountain that no one’s ever climbed before, but didn’t think that…” Before she finished her words, she shook her head as she walked over, sitting at the place where Li Xin had sat on just now . The meaning in her unspoken words were clear .
When the woman saw Li Xin continuously watching the outside, she said, “Don’t try to escape . ” Her words made Li Xin immediately looked at the woman when she heard .
The woman smiled bitterly, “You can only escape if you have their speed and their strength . Otherwise if you’re captured again, you will only suffer even worse . ”
“Why didn’t they just kill us?” The cruelty of these people she had personally witnessed yesterday, and originally she thought that after getting captured, the only route left was death . However, who would’ve thought that she would still be safe and sound right now, and even an had ordinary person come and talk to her . What did that mean? Something she really wanted to know was, did those aboriginals not kill women?
The woman gave a wretched yet satirical sneer as she answered Li Xin, “Because they need someone to continue their progeny . ”
“What?!” Li Xin’s face instantly turned black .
The woman raised a brow as she looked at the ray of light shining in, saying lightly, “They’re strong . However most of the people here are men, with there being very few females . That’s why after we’re captured we turn into tools to reproduce for them . Hehe, tools . ” The woman suddenly started cackling .
When Li Xin saw the hatred and neuroticism revealed on that woman’s face, her brows couldn’t help twitching slightly . Through the ray on light that shone into the room, Li Xin noticed that on the hands and chest of the woman were numerous little red spots . There weren’t too many, but the number of spots were still no small amount, and some red ones were even starting to turn purple . Suddenly remembering something, Li Xin said, “It’s radiation, you’ve been contaminated by radiation . ”
When the woman heard, she wasn’t surprised at all, instead a deathly valour came over her face as she lightly replied, “I know . A while ago, someone from a research team was captured . She said that there’s were lots of radioactive materials here, and the reason they’re so perverted is because they’ve been interacting with radiation for so long . Since it’s radiation, we probably won’t live for much longer . Are you also from the research team?”
The woman spoke calmly, as if she didn’t take life or death seriously . Or perhaps she just didn’t have the energy to change anything in her life anymore, that’s why she had such indifference birth from her despair .

Li Xin couldn’t help shaking her head when she heard the woman talk in such an indifferent manner, answering, “No . ”
The woman fell silent before nodding, “I guessed so . When they returned this morning, there were way fewer people compared to when they set off . Even more were injured . I’ve never seen them receive any sort of injury since I came here . ” She paused before looking back at Li Xin . “Two days ago, I noticed that they’d discovered outsiders, but didn’t expect that they would make such a loss . Hehe, serves them right, serves them right! They better all die, all die off!?”
Talking as if she was mumbling to herself, the woman suddenly started giggling . Her voice sound extremely eerie, and gave one a chilling feel .
Li Xin couldn’t help feeling a chill run up her spine when she heard . She had never felt such hatred and thirst for vengeance from a person before . The woman before her had such delicate and refined features, yet to have such an expression appear on a face like this, while giving someone the creeps, it also made them feel a deep sense of pain for the lady .
“Were those people killed by you? What do you work as?” The woman suddenly stared at Li Xin .
When Li Xin noticed, she couldn’t help scrutinising her carefully . A frenzied expression surfaced on the woman’s face, and when Li Xin saw the fervent flame burning in her eyes, she frowned . “We did kill them . Why do you want to know what I do?” Towards outsiders, Li Xin was always on her guard .
The woman immediately revealed a savage smile, her face full of joy as she exclaimed, “You guys really killed them? Well done, you’ve killed them well, very, very well! They should have died long ago . Do you still have anyone left alive? Will they come and find you?”
Li Xin immediately lowered her voice, asking, “You want to escape with me?”
“No, no . ” The woman suddenly smiled and shook her head . “You think I can still live even if I escape? Does this world really have a medicine that can cure radiation? No . Since there’re none, why should I escape . I want to die with them . ” The happiness on her face quickly shifted back into her previous indifference, so quickly it was as if it was two different people .
Seeing that Li Xin was staring at her, she also lowered her voice to say, “Since you guys can already kill so many of them, you can definitely kill more . As long as someone comes searching for you, they will not be able to escape . Ahaha, they will never be able to escape, I want to watch them die, ALL of them die!”
Watching the savage smile surfacing once more on the woman’s face, listening to to her words, it was obvious that she had already let go of all hope in life and all she yearned for was destruction . She looked completely insane and not like someone able to have a proper conversation .
The woman slowly hid the savage expression on her face as coldness and indifference once again returned . The deathly aura returned to her face, and as her eyes swept over the aboriginals outside, she said, “Pity, so many died but they’re actually not sad at all . They really are beasts, unfeeling and unreasonable beasts . ”

“Why did you come here?” Although Li Xin felt sad for the woman, she still didn’t forget her current circumstances and was alertly looking at the woman before her eyes . Those aboriginals couldn’t possibly have let her come here just to chat with her . From the actions of the aboriginals yesterday she could already tell that they couldn’t possibly be so kind .

“In the future your only use will be to birth their offspring . They won’t get you to do anything else, the only thing is that you can’t escape, otherwise the situation you’ll end up in when you get recaptured will be no better than death . You won’t die even if you want to . But, don’t worry, you won’t have to withstand this kind of torture for much longer because the radiation here is so strong we’ll probably die sooner or later . They can’t torture us much longer . They can’t . ” The woman looked at Li Xin, the look in her eyes that screamed her yearning for emancipation making one unable to meet them . Her calm expression made one almost not be able to believe her previous insanity .
Goosebumps instantly surfaced on Li Xin’s back when she heard . Looking at the movement outside and the aboriginals that glanced over occasionally, that anthropoid-like body, that bestial gaze, all of it made Li Xin’s spine tingle . She took a sighed before saying quietly, “I have no interest in acting out a play of beauty and the beast . ”
“How many aboriginals are there here?” Listening to the woman talk like this made Li Xin’s heart sink . All of the fear and worries she had were thrown to the back of her brain . Right now she had no one else to rely on, and could only rely on herself .
The woman glanced at Li Xin, shaking her head again, “A few hundred . ” This woman had lost all faith . She had nothing more to say, and only had indifference left, an indifference so strong it was at the point of despair .
“Then…” Slightly lowering her eyelids, before Li Xin could ask anything else, the door made out of grass suddenly burst open . An aboriginal missing an arm walked over, and spouted a stream of gibberish at the two of them . Li Xin involuntarily looked towards the woman . What was he talking about?
“I don’t know their language, but I’m guessing they’re shouting to tell us to go out . ” The woman quickly stood up and didn’t even look at Li Xin before walking out .
Looking at the woman’s receding figure, before she could refocus, a pain suddenly came from her arm as her body was pulled by a brutal force out of the house . When she lifted her head, she saw that it was that aboriginal with a missing arm . He was using his sharp claws to hold on to her skinny arm, and as if holding an object, he dragged her out . Clenching her jaws Li Xin didn’t resist and followed the aboriginal out .

Li Xin jogged to keep up with the aboriginal’s pace, but before she could even taken a few more steps, she felt herself suddenly getting lifted up into the air by the aboriginal and then thrown onto the ground . She immediately curled up and protected herself by rolling on the ground, a look of pain surfaced on her face as she lifted her head and looked at the aboriginals in front of her .
She saw over five hundred aboriginals sitting in a circle on the ground staring at her coldly . The savagery and joy in their gazes made Li Xin’s body grow cold, because the way they looked at her was as if they were looking at an object being played in their hands; an object that would never be able to escape their grasp . That look of ownership in their eyes made Li Xin reveal an even more terrified expression as her body started trembling uncontrollably .
When the aboriginals sitting on the ground saw Li Xin trembling like a tiny rabbit under their gazes, they couldn’t help revealing a strange smile . Some even started nodding their heads repeatedly, as if they were very satisfied with Li Xin’s behaviour . The moment Li Xin saw that she trembled even more fiercely .
Though she couldn’t converse with them, there was still body language, which was also a way of communicating sometimes . Hiding her vigilance, being contemptuous of them . Although she didn’t know if her actions would be any use against these people, however there was still a n intrinsic difference between trying and not trying .
Amidst the sound of shrill laughter that sounded unlike a human’s, the severed arm aboriginal stepped forward and grabbed Li Xin’s elbow, lifting her up before taking a few steps back and forcing her to stand beside him, this time round sitting down himself .
After getting thrown back and forth by this strong force, because of her previous injuries, Li Xin was in so much pain her face was now pale white, but she could only grit her teeth tightly and bear with it . There were only enemies here, and non of them a friend . Showing weakness could only be done in front of friends, towards enemies she could only be strong .
The moment the severed arm aboriginal sat down, a few aboriginal woman started busily lighting a fire in the middle of the circle . Huge pieces of meat were thrown on top of the fire, and just like that, the dry grass started barbecuing the raw meat .
Li Xin curled into a ball as she observed the people near her . She saw the ordinary woman sitting not too far away from her, while around her there were no other normal women, only those aboriginal women sitting near her . The normal ones probably couldn’t withstand the radiation and died .
Just from a glance, she could see that the aboriginals here were seventy percent male . No wonder these vicious aboriginals didn’t kill women; they still needed them to solve their biggest problem .
Pai . Just as she was observing her surroundings, a piece of meat that was barbecued to a golden brown colour was suddenly thrown in front of her . Li Xin couldn’t help lifting her head to look at it .
She was still alright when she didn’t look at it, but the moment she saw what it was her stomach started churning furiously, and her face turned sheet white in less than a second . Li Xin gritted her teeth as she swallowed the bile threatening to come up . The barbecued meat thrown in front of her was huge . When it was thrown into the fire she wasn’t able to take a clear look at what it was, but now that it was up close, she could see it clearly . It was a human thigh, including everything from the base of the thigh to the foot .
The charred yellow colour, the smell of burnt meat, made Li Xin’s face completely change . She immediately looked away, only to see all those aboriginals all eating voraciously . Seeing the arm, the leg, all those body parts dancing in the air, after almost bruising her own thigh by keeping a tight grip on it, Li Xin finally managed to suppress the urge to scream .
Looking around, her eyes just so happened to land on that woman . Only, she too was holding a piece of her own as she ate, the look on her face still that same indifference, as if she was holding pork or beef in her hands . Li Xin couldn’t help shivering the moment she saw . This woman had already submitted under the powerful oppression and destroyed her own humanity .
