The sun that was on the verge of setting had rays of light that looked like fresh blood.

"Mother! Mother!"

A small boy whose body was stained with blood knelt by his mother's side, crying out.

That woman was curled up, tightly holding onto something by her chest. Her left shoulder was dark red, her throat produced a 'gululu' sound as if she wanted to voice something out but was unable to utter even a single word.

"The traitor Yao li has committed treason. His clansman shall die for him!" The man who had a full beard shouted out as he waved his blood-stained sword.

Father has committed treason?! The little boy had mucus and tears both flowing down.

"Impossible! Father would never commit treason! Father would never commit treason!" He raised his head, crying out at the top of his lungs.

The sword once again swung down, the woman twitched before her breath seized.

"Mother……." A voice dipped in extreme grief suddenly cried out, startling the courtyard's birds.

"You still don't want to run? You waiting for my sword to cut you?" The bearded man scolded as he looked at the little boy with copper eyes.

The boy who had tears streaming down was frightened. He faintly hesitated before he turned and broke into a run.

"Don't chase after him." The bearded man raised his hand, signalling for the people to not give chase.

"General, in that woman's embrace seems to be a……."

"Che!" The bearded man sounded out and glared at the guy who had opened his mouth to speak. That guy closed his mouth, not daring to speak.

Brother Yao Li, I left you an heir. That should be enough to make it up to you.

He sighed as he led his soldiers away.
After a while, the courtyard finally quietened down.

The lid of a large water jar faintly moved before landing on the floor. A young lady in black clothing climbed out from the jar.

"Mother……." She cried out, throwing herself at the woman's side.

Suddenly, the woman's arm moved a little.

The young lady whose eyes were blurry with tears stared blankly as the woman's arm lifelessly hanged down the other side, which revealed a pair of ink black eyes.

The woman whose breath had already seized was protecting a little girl whose skin was white as snow.

"Xiang bao……" The young lady who dressed in black carried the little girl from the woman's chest, all the while having tears still rolling down. "Xiang bao don't cry………"
