Chapter 93 First Time
Ye Shaoyang sat down opposite to Rui Lengyu and smiled, "Hi beautiful, anything that I can help you with?"
Rui Lengyu looked at him and asked, "Did Qin Feng go to meet you?"
"He came, but he has already left," Ye Shaoyang shrugged, "Anyhow, I couldn't make them stay. Did he go to meet you too?"
Rui Lengyu nodded.
"You didn't manage to make him stay either?" Ye Shaoyang asked.
"No. Before we started working together, I promised Qin Feng I would let him go together with Chen Lin when everything was over. So, I kept my promise. Moreover, I believe that Chen Lin is harmless even if she stays in the mortal world."
At this moment, the pretty lady boss went to their table and served them the same liquor. "I didn't order this," Ye Shaoyang said with a confused look.
"I ordered it for you. Consider this as a farewell gift from me. Let's drink together," Rui Lengyu looked at him and answered. Ye Shaoyang felt stunned and uneasy. He asked, "Farewell? What do you mean?"
"Since everything is over now. I'm going back to Hong Kong. I need to continue learning from my master. I still have so much more to learn."
Ye Shaoyang's heart sank. He gulped down a mouthful of liquor. The taste of the liquor made him frown. He asked in a bitter tone, "Will you still come back?"
"Not sure," Rui Lengyu put on a rare smile, "You can contact me if you need any help in future. But, you have to pay me next time."
Ye Shaoyang nodded. He knew that she had no reason to come back to Stone City now that they had resolved the matter of dormitory four. He might not have the chance to see her again.
Then, the duo started to silently drink. A moment later, Rui Lengyu stood up and prepared to leave after she checked her watch. Ye Shaoyang quickly finished his drink, as he wanted to send her off. However, the pair finally realized that it was drizzling outside. The pretty bar owner handed Ye Shaoyang an umbrella and smiled, "Hey handsome, here's your chance."
Ye Shaoyang shyly rubbed his nose.
It was a little hard to hail a cab in the rain. Ye Shaoyang opened up the umbrella and walked Rui Lengyu to the bus station. As they slowly walked, Ye Shaoyang continued to try and find the right words to say. But he could not seem to find anything to talk about. When they finally reached the bus station, they could see a cab coming from afar. Rui Lengyu waved her hand and turned around to look at Ye Shaoyang, as she smiled, "Do you like that policewoman?"
Her words caught Ye Shaoyang off guard, "Why would you assume that?"
Rui Lengyu shrugged, "I saw you willing to sacrifice yourself the other day to save her. Even a fool would know."
Ye Shaoyang shook his head, "I admit that I'm always joking around, and I'm flirty. But honestly, she's only a friend to me. I would have done the same thing if Old Guo, Xiao Ma, or even you were in her position. Please don't misunderstand."
Rui Lengyu smiled after she heard these words, "This has nothing to do with me. I have nothing to misunderstand."
Her reply caused Ye Shaoyang to choke up.
"I'm leaving now. So, do you have anything else to say?"
"I…." Before Ye Shaoyang could mentally form a sentence, the cab had already stopped in front of them. Rui Lengyu opened the car door and bid Ye Shaoyang farewell. Then, she boarded the cab. Now that the cab had started to move, Ye Shaoyang strongly felt that he might not have the chance to see Rui Lengyu again. This was his last chance. Without any further hesitation, he rushed forward and stopped the cab. He opened the cab door and said to the driver, "I'm sorry. Please give me some time."
"Good luck," encouraged the young male driver as he smiled at Ye Shaoyang. Then, the driver put on his earphones and started listening to music. Rui Lengyu folded her arms and looked at Ye Shaoyang, a naughty smile on her face. She looked at him like she was giving Ye Shaoyang an opportunity to sell his story in an interview. Ye Shaoyang nervously inhaled, "Please come back. If you don't, I'll come to look for you in Hong Kong."
Rui Lengyu frowned, "Why would you want to look for me?"
"No reason," Ye Shaoyang gritted his teeth in determination. He continued, "I just want to see you again. If you don't come back, I'll go to you. Remember this! I'll search for you no matter where you go!"
Rui Lengyu's smile grew even broader. She looked at him in interest, like a person watching some kind of performance, "Are you trying to profess your love?"
Ye Shaoyang's face turned red, as he blushed. He awkwardly scratched his head and asked, "What if I say I am? Would you say yes?"
"But you haven't."
That's it. I'm going all out! Ye Shaoyang grabbed her hands and moved his face closer to her's. He stared at her beautiful face and tried to sound as poetic as possible,
"I like you. I fell in love with you the first time I saw you. If you are a white cloud, I would be the blue sky; I will cover you with a hug forever. If you are a flower, I will be the big tree, umm, I will, umm, protect you forever with my leaves. And if you are a boat, I will be the paddle; umm, we will row to each other's land of love. I want to love you, protect you, and care for you forever. I want us to build a nest of love together. Let love fill us both. In other words, I love you. Please be my girlfriend, please?"
After she heard Ye Shaoyang's words, Rui Lengyu felt dumbfounded. Ye Shaoyang thought that his poetic confession had touched her. He anxiously waited for her response.
To his surprise, Rui Lengyu grabbed his hands. His heart skipped a beat, Wow, she grabbed my hands! Did my heartfelt confession really touch her?
However, Rui Lengyu flipped over his hand and stared at his palm. She even grabbed his other hand and did the same thing.
"What's wrong?" Ye Shaoyang asked curiously.
"I want to check where you hid your note."
"What note?"
Rui Lengyu smiled and shook her head, "Ye Shaoyang, where did you plagiarise this from?"
Her words shocked Ye Shaoyang. He immediately waved his hands in protest.
"Just come clean. Or else, you'll lose this chance."
"This…" Ye Shaoyang's face blushed even redder. He lowered his head and answered haltingly, "I received it from a forwarded message. I memorized it so that I could use it to confess to you one day."
"How would I know if you haven't used these lines on other girls?" asked Rui Lengyu sarcastically.
"I've never used it on other girls. This is my first time, I swear! I memorized this because I have no experience with confessing. I thought it was a good idea…" Ye Shaoyang nervously explained.
Rui Lengyu burst into laughter, "It's such a sappy confession! It's obvious that you plagiarised it. Did you plagiarise it from Qiong Yao's drama?"
Ye Shaoyang lowered his head awkwardly, It's so pathetic. It's my first time confessing, and I screwed it up...
"But...since you like plagiarism, you can plagiarise more and send it to me through instant messaging. Maybe, I might consider giving you a chance one day."
Ye Shaoyang took a deep breath and affectionately stared into Rui Lengyu's eyes, "I really, really like you. I fell for you at first sight."
"Keep it coming. I know that it's another one," Rui Lengyu teased him as she pouted.
Ye Shaoyang jumped in frustration, "I really mean it; I did not plagiarise it! After I first met you on that day, I dreamt of you at night. I don't want you to leave. We can be very good partners in hunting down spirits. I know I screwed up my confession, but I can tell you that I'm being honest here. Yes or no, just say it."
"Give me some time to think about it," Rui Lengyu smiled and answered.
"Think about it…?" Ye Shaoyang asked anxiously, "How long?"
"Till the time we meet. Later." Rui Lengyu waved her hand and closed the cab door.

Ye Shaoyang could only watch as the cab drove away. He could already feel something missing. He shrugged and muttered to himself, "OK, screwed up my first confession. Or maybe, it was not that bad? Maybe I still have a chance? Maybe…."
