One of the officers took Ye Shaoyang’s hand and pleaded, “Mr. Ye, please. I know you have powers. Please save Captain Xie!”
Ye Shaoyang suddenly thought, Since there is still some Yang Qi in her, that means that she didn’t die too long ago. Maybe her soul is still around?
“Someone tell me her date of birth!” Ye Shaoyang looked up and asked the crowd. Even though he was close to her, he still didn’t know her birthday.
“Look for her ID!” One of the officers said.
Ye Shaoyang quickly went through her pockets and found her wallet. He opened it and found her ID.
“...21st of April,” he read and wrote down on a piece of paper.
Li Ansheng came over to him and said, “Mr. Ye, I heard from one of the security guys that before Tan Xiaohui passed out she said ‘west side’.”
Ye Shaoyang was surprised; he had totally forgotten about Tan Xiaohui.
He asked, “How’s she now?”
“She’s unconscious and has been sent to the hospital. They say she’ll be fine. Before she passed out, she only said ‘west side’ and nothing else. Then, we quickly took her to the hospital.”
Ye Shaoyang did not pay attention to the rest of what he said; he only thought about the two words that Tan Xiaohui said: ‘west side’.
It must be something important, but what is it?
At that moment, Ye Shaoyang had no idea, so he could only give up. Then, he asked Xie Yuqing to be laid on the ground. He moved to be beside her and stuck the piece of paper that had her name and date of birth on her forehead.

Then Ye Shaoyang reached for his waist but felt nothing there. He immediately recalled that he had rushed over without any of his equipment.
Just as he was about to get someone to call Xiao Ma, Xiao Ma appeared pushing through the crowd and yelling for him.
He came close enough to give him his bag and belt and said, “I believe in you, Little Ye. I know you can save Sister Xie!”
Ye Shaoyang nodded and quickly opened his bag to take out the Jade of Souls. He bit his tongue and spat blood on to it. Immediately, the blood activated it and turned it a glowing red.
Ye Shaoyang put the Jade of Souls into Xie Yuqing’s mouth. The Jade of Souls had the ability to absorb nearby spirit energies, so Ye Shaoyang wanted to use it to amplify the energy left by Xie Yuqing’s soul.
As he didn’t have much time, Ye Shaoyang did not make an altar. Instead, he quickly pressed his thumb to her forehead, shut his eyes, and began to chant the Maoshan Soul Searching Incantation. With Xie Yuqing’s body as the center point, he began to search the area for her energy.
The Maoshan Soul Searching Incantation consumed a great deal of energy. Even if an average sorcerer knew the words of the incantation, he or she might not have the power to use it. As a Heavenly Master, he sustained the search for about a minute, but he couldn’t find any trace of her soul.

In certain houses, the dissipation speed was slower. If a spirit lingered for a long time, that area would become filled with Yin. If it was longer, then it would form a Spirit’s Nest.
Because Xie Yuqing had only recently died, even if her soul had been taken by a Spirit Commissioner, there should have still been some trace of Spirit Qi around. Ye Shaoyang was slightly relieved because Madam Chee couldn’t have done this. Since she was trapped inside the formation, she couldn’t have come out to the yard to kill them, let alone trap their souls.
Then, a thought hit him, and Ye Shaoyang remembered the words ‘west side’! Before Tan Xiaohui passed out, she said ‘west side’.
Maybe that’s where Xie Yuqing’s soul was taken!
This was the only possible explanation, since there was nothing more important she could have wanted to relay!
“Xiao Ma, follow me! The rest of you protect Xie Yuqing’s body!”
After saying that, Ye Shaoyang ran out of the temple, and as he ran, he put on his belt and bag.
His attire of a pair of swimming trunks, a bag and a big belt around his waist was not at all normal. Even though it was very odd, no one was laughing at him. Instead, everyone looked at him with respect.
