Chapter 124 Lock of Ultimate Death
Ye Shaoyang sighed and abruptly got up from his seat. He reached to the back of the car through the space between the two front seats. Then, he formed a hand seal and smacked at the man. The man grinned, as he raised his palm to meet Ye Shaoyang’s hand. However, he did not expect Ye Shaoyang’s next move. Instead of meeting the man’s palm, Ye Shaoyang simply gripped it with two fingers and choked the man’s throat with his other hand.
The man’s mouth opened in reflex, and Ye Shaoyang swiftly threw the Lock of Ultimate Death into his mouth. Next, Ye Shaoyang covered the man’s mouth with his right hand that held a talisman paper. Ye Shaoyang then chanted out loud,
“O’Mighty heaven and earth, with the power of Yin Yang!”
A visible stream of purple gas floated up from the man’s face, but he quickly suppressed it. At the same time, he threw Ye Shaoyang an evil grin. Instantly, Ye Shaoyang could feel a strong wave of demonic power enter his body through his skin. Ye Shaoyang’s face grew even more stern. Without wasting any time, he chanted a Soul Stabilizing Chant to release his Gang Qi and defend against the demon Qi.
Now, the effect of the Lock of Ultimate Death started to take place. It slowly dissolved the cultivation in the man’s body.
“Impressive power, Master Ye.” Ye Shaoyang heard a voice in his head. It was a chilly male voice. Ye Shaoyang snorted and replied, “You are the spirit servant of Granny Chee, aren’t you?”

Old Guo closed his eyes, as he tried to focus. He freed himself in the nick of time. He bit his tongue hard, and the feeling of being overwhelmed instantly vanished. He stepped hard on the brake and turned the steering wheel as hard as he could.

A sharp shriek of a braking car followed. The car spun toward the edge of the cliff. Finally, it stopped, and its rear right side wheel hung in mid-air.
“Holy mama! That was close!” Old Guo wiped away the cold sweat on his forehead. Then, he heard a noise, so he turned around. What he saw was a scene straight out of a horror movie.
The skin on the man’s forehead had cracked open like an egg. Soon, the crack extended from his forehead up till his jaw. Loud cracking noises followed, as the skull literally split into two halves. As black blood oozed out, a smaller head also popped up from within the skull.
At first glance, this head seemed human-like, with a pointed mouth. Sharp teeth neatly filled the mouth. As the mouth opened and closed, green, slimy liquid flowed down the teeth. The head twisted itself left and right, as it attempted to get out of the skull. Under the head, the creature had a body full of tentacles.
Before the group could take a good look at the creature, the head had got itself out of the skull. It broke the car window and jumped out of the car in an attempt to escape.
Ye Shaoyang was instantly freed from the man’s grip. He did not hesitate and opened his car door. With his Qixing Dragon Sword in hand, Ye Shaoyang chased after the creature.
“O' come the light of dusk, Heaven and Earth shall be rent asunder, following the order of Yin Yang, with the boundless power of the Dao!” As Ye Shaoyang chanted, he threw out his sword in the direction of the creature.
A purple light flashed by. The creature’s head was slashed into halves. It stopped moving, as it dropped to the ground.
Instead, a blurry shadow rose up from the spot and bolted away. Ye Shaoyang was too far away from it, and he had just thrown out his sword seconds ago. Without a weapon in his hands, Ye Shaoyang could only watch as the shadow escaped.
Ye Shaoyang had consumed a large quantity of his energy earlier. Now, he was totally exhausted. He fell to the ground in a sitting position, as he breathed at a fast pace. At this moment, he was out of breath.
Xiao Ma and Old Guo got out of the car to check on him.
“Holy sh*t! That b*tch almost choked me to death! She died twice, yet she could still choke my neck! That’s crazy!”
“Let me take a quick rest. I need to recover. You can do whatever you want as long as you don’t disturb me.” Ye Shaoyang sat on the ground with his legs crossed. He circulated the energy within his body by a minor cycle to replenish his reserves. After a short moment, he opened his eyes and took a quick look around.
The spirit Qi had vanished. It was the middle of the night, but he still noticed that the surroundings were different to before.
Xiao Ma and Old Guo kneeled down, as they examined the creature Ye Shaoyang had just killed. As soon as Xiao Ma heard Ye Shaoyang’s footsteps, he turned to ask, “Are you okay now, Little Ye? Come here and have a look. What the hell is this creature?”
Ye Shaoyang walked up to the creature’s body and examined it closely. It was a creature that looked like a jellyfish. It had a big, odd head that hundreds of tentacles supported. Moreover, the head consisted of a horrendous looking skull. It was definitely a creepy sight.
“Honestly, I have no idea what this creature is exactly.” Ye Shaoyang said, as his hand touched his chin, “It is possible that this creature is not from the mortal world. Maybe it’s from the Underworld.” As he said this, he felt even odder. Why would a creature from the Underworld want to come to the mortal world to create such chaos?
“So, is this thing dead?” Xiao Ma asked.
“It is physically dead, but its soul managed to escape,” Ye Shaoyang answered, “This is a type of soulbound demon.”
Old Guo handed the Qixin Dragon Sword to Ye Shaoyang and said with a frown, “Now, I understand. I was wondering why the Spirit’s Barrier Illusion seemed never-ending. I thought it was a Spirit Overlord. As it turned out, this bastard had been with us in the car all along! It kept releasing spirit Qi in the car to create such an illusion.
