She felt like she'd had a dream. It had been long, but warm and gentle.

A breeze lightly brushed the body of Lakish Nyx Seniolis, carrying with it a small hint of chill. She shivered a little, then stirred..

Slowly opening and rubbing her eyes, Lakish sat up and looked around. Nothing out of the ordinary surrounded her, aside from a bucket full of clear water at her side and a large sword's familiar polished veneer, made up of and shaped by metallic fragments. Up above, the sun had just begun creeping into the west half of the sky.

Recently, Lakish hadn't slept very well. As a grown-up Leprechaun and a soldier, there was all sorts of things that she had to remember, as well as many skills she needed to learn. Consequently, she stayed up a little past her bedtime to study every night.

But today, the spring weather had been so very pleasant, and the instant she'd finished her maintenance on Seniolis, she'd felt an overwhelming urge to sleep. She couldn't help but close her eyes.

"Ehehehe…" Lakish looked around again, using her sleeve to wipe off some drool that had leaked out of her mouth. Nobody saw that, did they?

How shall we put it? Lakish Nyx Seniolis was not the type of girl who emanated authority. Her features were soft, she spoke pleasantly, and a friendly aura surrounded her. She practically embodied spring itself.

She was unused to speaking to or even thinking of others harshly, which was easily seen by anyone who saw her try. Among her group of four friends, she was often the one telling off Collon or Panival whenever they misbehaved, although they never listened to her. Perhaps it was because of the side Lakish showed the world most that her juniors didn't respect her much.

That aside, if someone was to see her sloppiness right now, then she'd really feel like she was useless. Sleeping with my mouth open under the spring sun. Would anyone treat me seriously or like an adult if they saw me now?

"I can't be like Tiat…"

Lakish thought about her dear family-become-friend, that fairy with a head full of bright green hair. How to describe her? She was cool. Tiat had a concrete image of what she wanted to become, and worked towards her goal bit by bit every day. Maybe her personality was affected by the strict goals she aspired to achieve? Lakish recently thought she could sense Tiat's excited energy even when the other fairy was standing still. Since it was embarrassing to admit, she would never dare tell Tiat what she thought of her.

It seems impossible for me to become someone like that. The thought made Lakish feel lonely.

"Oh!" She realized she'd kept her beloved sword waiting for far too long, and hurriedly began gathering her things. "I'm sorry, Seniolis!" she apologized as she emptied her bucket, squeezed her towel dry, and wrapped up the sword in its cloth again.

…But the dream just now…

Most dreams slowly faded away from one's memory upon awakening, like a picture becoming washed out, then disappeared. Even so, Lakish still remembered some details of it.

Kutori had been in the dream, holding Seniolis. There had also been someone else she didn't know. A mysterious girl, who she shouldn't know, but almost felt like she'd seen somewhere before, who also held Seniolis. "Was she…?"

Lakish recalled the superstition about how the wielders of Seniolis inevitably met tragic fates. But she didn't feel that the two she'd seen had been subjects of a tragedy. Rather, it seemed better to say the opposite had happened. Both of them had had someone they liked, and thought of that person with everything they had. Lakish felt so sure of it that she even hoped to be someone like them.

"…Maybe…" she looked at Seniolis. "Was it you who gave me that dream?"

Naturally, it didn't answer. That said, she had never heard of Seniolis having the ability to give people dreams.

The dug weapons were relics of the Emnetwyte, and nowadays nobody knew the real extent of what they might be capable of, so it wouldn't be strange to imagine the sword had hidden abilities. Even so, Lakish didn't think the dream could have been caused by the activation of an talisman or something similar.

"Will I become someone like them in the future?" The two who thought about the person they liked with every fiber of their being. "…Will I also be able to fall in love with someone, just like them?"

Lakish tried to let her imagination run a little wild. She wouldn't be able to meet anyone in the all-female fairy warehouse, so she would have to leave this place in the future in order to get to know someone whose race was similar to hers. That person would be handsome, and act a lot like Willem. She would become attracted to him, get closer to him, and eventually confess her feelings of love in detail to him.

And then, right after that, it would happen, as it always did. Her tragic end.

It was said that the person chosen by Seniolis would always face an unfortunate fate. Though it was hard to say what exactly might occur, she felt that something serious would probably happen.

Lakish sighed. She'd run out of imagination and couldn't continue anymore.

However, she didn't think she had to feel afraid, because when the time came, she probably wouldn't be alone. Tiat and the rest would be at her side, wholeheartedly helping her with all their strength. Most importantly of all, it was at precisely that moment that Seniolis would truly accept her as its wielder.

"Alright!" Lakish clapped her hands together and lowered her head towards Seniolis. "When that day comes, please let me rely on your strength!"

The wind blew, causing part of the cloth around the holy sword to flap open. Seniolis bathed under the golden sunlight, radiating pure white light almost like tears.
