“No problem. Give me a small half thigh too. I can’t finish eating if there’s too much.” Ling Chuxi said humbly. A person should learn to be thrifty and diligent in managing one’s household and to live well.
The waiter by the side almost fell headlong onto the ground. ‘Having a plate of smoked meat, half of a succulent wild rabbit, half of a wild chicken and to top off, a small half thigh of wild boar meat early in the morning, isn’t this already considered a lot? And she actually said that she could not finish if there is too much food. This portion is already enough for me to eat three meals. This young lady looks so slim and delicate. Can she really finish eating so much food?’ The waiter could not help but feel very confused as he looked at Ling Chuxi.
“Sure, sure. Please have a seat dear guest. The dishes will be served very soon.” The boss was dizzy with joy as he ran toward the hall behind.
“Oh right, give me a bowl of vegetable porridge too.” Ling Chuxi added another sentence again. Eating too much oily food was not good. She needed to placate her stomach.
Thump! The waiter ended up falling onto the ground.
A little while later, the dishes that Ling Chuxi ordered were served on the table one by one. The waiter, who was at one side, stood with his eyes popped and mouth agape, as he looked at her table manners which were graceful yet absolutely not slow. The boss was stunned as well. The boss had initially thought that Ling Chuxi was an extravagant and lavish lady from a wealthy family, but he never would have thought that she was really able to eat a lot! The waiter was even more dumbfounded. ‘This young lady appears to be so gentle and weak, but she is actually so capable of eating. Furthermore, the critical point is that she is actually not fat even though she is able to eat so much!’ He thought back to the lady boss whose fat would grow if she were to eat an extra slice of pork belly. The waiter sighed, ‘Sure enough, people are different.’
“Boss, serve some dishes.” An old man walked in just as Ling Chuxi was eating.
Ling Chuxi raised her head and took a look. The old man had an average appearance and his body was thin and small. The only thing that stood out in particular was his hair which was in a mess. He was dressed in extreme luxury, and there was a hint of arrogance from his gestures, like a countryside wealthy man entering the cities. Although this metaphor was not a good one, it was very appropriate. There were definitely only very few people who could bring out this aura when they were dressed in luxurious clothing. As such, Ling Chuxi looked at him a little more.
“Dear guest, please come in, please come in.” The boss saw that a “local rich man” had dropped in and he personally went out to welcome him. The boss was of course overjoyed with two big customers coming in early in the morning.
“Dear guest, what would you like to eat? We have superior wild boar meat. Do you want to have half a thigh?” The boss saw that the old man’s figure was small and skinny and reckoned that he would not eat much too. He chose to promote the most expensive one anyway.
“Same like hers. Give me a double portion of everything. And if you have anything else that is good, feel free to serve them.” The old man said with his nose pointed to the sky.
“Double portion?” The boss was stunned and then he continuously nodded with joy. “Great. Have a seat dear guest. The dishes will be served very soon, will be served very soon.” Sure enough he was a local rich man.
Ling Chuxi could not resist but sneaked a peek at this old man. She did not think that this old man had the capacity to eat so much. Ling Chuxi could not help but sigh deep down. ‘The citizens of Big Foodie Country are certainly everywhere under the sky.’
Not long after, the plates on the old man’s table had piled up like a hill.
The old man was not courteous too. He picked up his chopsticks and gobbled up everything just like a whirlwind sweeping away scattered clouds.
Thump. The waiter fell to the ground again. He had earlier on thought that Ling Chuxi was already considered able to eat a lot. Only now did he know what being able to eat a lot meant. Those were all double portions. And he actually finished almost a big half of it with just a bit of effort.
As he looked at that small and skinny figure, the waiter really did not know where all the food that he had eaten went to.
Ling Chuxi had also halted her chopsticks and looked at the table manners of that old man. She felt ashamed that her appetite was not comparable to that of his.
What was meant by ‘there will always be someone stronger amongst the strongest’? What was meant by ‘a person beyond a person, sky beyond the sky’? What was meant by ‘gulping a thousand miles like a fierce tiger’? Ling Chuxi finally had an experience of all these sayings.
