“You have brought death upon yourself!” yelled Ren Youran loudly as he slashed at Ling Chuxi with his sword.
The other older men behind him also drew their swords at the same time and moved to attack Ling Chuxi as well. Their intentions were very obvious. They wanted to kill her on the spot.
Everyone could feel the icy chill of the murderous intentions permeating the space around them piercing through their bodies.
Ling Yichen and Baili Han already knew things would end up like this. With Ling Chuxi’s character, how was it possible that she would compromise? The both of them exchanged a glance then rushed forward to attack the other party at the same time, prompting the ten or so middle-aged men behind Ren Youran to shout in unison and race to fight the both of them off.
Ling Yichen and Baili Han were going against opponents with stronger powers who outnumbered them despite having yet to fully recover from their injuries. They became so entangled in the melee that they were actually unable to escape it for a while.
Facing the siege consisting of Ren Youran and the other older men accompanying him, Ling Chuxi didn’t feel frightened at all. Instead, she formed the Turning Cloud Gesture. One force after another of Battle Qi swept over her sword in a series of silvery gleams and condensed to a point, which then erupted into spirals of Qi that permeated the tip of her sword. Ling Chuxi could only erupt all her strength and release the force of her strongest Battle Qi as she went against her opponents who were all almost at the same level of cultivation as her and furthermore at an advantage of having the five of them against one of her.
“Hmph. You alone wish to resist the joint force of the five of us?” snorted Ren Youran contemptuously. The air before the five men became sharply distorted under the strain of their strong Battle Qi.
Ling Chuxi’s heart sank. Even if she relied on the power of Turning Cloud Gesture to advance her Battle Qi into the Pinnacle of Great Fulfilment, it would be difficult to deflect such a forceful joint attack. Under the immense pressure of the joint attack, even the Luo Chen Sword quivered slightly in her hand.
Suddenly, the Luo Chen Sword quivered more aggressively and emitted a long, clear and pleasant cry which resounded up to the skies.
Ling Chuxi felt shocked that at this moment, the spiritual consciousness hidden within the Luo Chen Sword seemed to have come alive with a furious roar.
A strength that absolutely did not belong to Ling Chuxi surged out from the core of the Luo Chen Sword, resulting in rows of brilliant eye-catching clear lights blossoming from the Qi spiral upon its blade which was initially transparent. It looked as though little white flowers were blooming at the sword’s surface.
“What is this?” Ren Youran and the rest of his men were startled upon seeing this. An inexplicable fear surged in their hearts.
Ling Chuxi did not give them the opportunity to think any further. This was her best opportunity and perhaps her only one.
With condemnation, the Luo Chen Sword drew a ray of light in the air resembling a glowing sunset with the tail of a rainbow as it rushed forward to face its five opponents head on.
Ren Youran and his men had undergone hundreds of battles. At this critical moment, they guarded their hearts and minds tightly and attacked with their swords at full force towards Ling Chuxi. The five flashes from the gleams of their sword and their Battle Qi converged into a surge of tyrannical Battle Qi powerful enough to conquer mountains and rivers in an instant.
It was as if a shocking thunderbolt had fallen from the skies and exploded in between them. A deep pit appeared where they stood before. Even the surrounding carriages had been overturned in the aftermath of the force of the attacks by both sides.
Ling Chuxi resembled a fallen leaf in the rain that shuddered and swayed with the wind. Before she managed to stabilize her steps, she spat out a mouthful of blood.
Her opponents were not much better off. The four older men had been shaken until they were retreating with blood spurting from them continuously too. Only Ren Youran still remained where he was with his face all pale. He was worthy of his past title of the genius cultivator of Nan Xia Country. Sure enough, his cultivation ability was indeed extraordinary after so many years of practice.
“I never thought that despite all the credit I give you, I was still underestimating your capabilities,” snarled Ren Youran as the murderous intent on his face got thicker and thicker. Even he was extremely shocked by Ling Chuxi’s attack. If this had happened ten years back, even he might not have been able to withstand such a blow.
