Chapter 279 Tit-for-tat
The stars were shining; it was a chilly night. Zhou Qingfeng was sitting on a beach chair with a few Cuban women taking care of him.
That's right, a few!
After the 'Wasteland Ranger', Victor Hugo showed off his shooting skill during the day, these women came to look for Zhou Qingfeng. Of course, Zhou Qingfeng would not want to upset any of them. Thus, they stayed to chat to him.
Outside the room, Zhou Qingfeng was drinking beer and eating snacks. On the other side, Santos was feeling at his worst. One of the guards peeped through the door and quickly reported to Santos, "General, he's still out there."
"Damn it!" Santos smashed the table and a glass fell to the floor. Meanwhile, he was desperate to go out but none of his men was willing to fight against Zhou Qingfeng out there. Thus, they were stuck in the room the entire time.
In fact, there was one man who tried to shoot at Zhou Qingfeng through the door. However, as soon as he aimed at the door, Zhou Qingfeng immediately pointed a gun at his head. They were terrified and could only see Zhou Qingfeng through the slit between the door and the wall.
Even though Santos could not be back at Nassau to command the battle, he was very confident, "Good at shooting, huh? It's time I show you the artillery shells from the huge cannon."
Santos believed that as long as his plan worked out, the Polarlys Legion will be gone. By then, the San Diego Military Alliance would not be able to hold on for very long and they would naturally listen to Santos.
Zhou Qingfeng had only been sitting for half a day when the man from Enclave, Clooney could not wait anymore. He repeated Zhou Qingfeng's request from earlier in the wireless radio and actually discussed it with the people from Enclave. Unexpectedly, they agreed with Zhou Qingfeng.
"Right now, the Brotherhood of Steel is giving us too much pressure. The Cubans in Florida could lose control at any time. We need to stop that."
"We can give the Polarlys Legion what they want. There are tons of engineers in a few oil refineries in Texas who aren't doing anything. We could send a thousand of them over. As long as we get rid of the Brotherhood of Steel, the Polarlys Legion is nothing. Maybe, we could take this chance to conquer the entire Cuba.
Clooney was so disappointed when he heard this statement from Enclave. He has met Zhou Qingfeng in person. He thought that even though Zhou Qingfeng was just a young man who was only eighteen-years-old, he has a huge potential to be a great leader. Zhou Qingfeng was still young and was not really experienced but he could see the bigger picture. At least, that was what Clooney thought about Zhou Qingfeng.
Zhou Qingfeng would definitely be a huge threat for them in the future. However, since the people with higher authority in Enclave has made the decision, Clooney could not do anything but accept it. "Mr. Hugo, Enclave would give you whatever you want. Tomorrow, there will be tons of petroleum engineers coming from Texas to Abaco Island."
Zhou Qingfeng was delighted when he heard the news. He quickly called Raymond to deal with the engineers who were coming. The engineers were the most important for oil refinery because it involved all the mechanical, chemical, and materials that were helpful to rebuild civilization.
"Mr. Hugo, I'm also authorized to notify you that the Enclave will fully support the Polarlys Legion. As long as you're able to get the Nassau into the Bahamas, we'll support you in managing the entire Caribbean or even some places in the South of the United States."
Zhou Qingfeng was even more excited when he heard that. He quickly asked the Cuban ladies to get a table and a chair. Both of them started discussing the details regarding Raymond taking charge of recording and arranging resources.
"We'll be giving you a dozen of large cargo ships to ship whatever resources you have." Clooney listed the resources down and showed it to Zhou Qingfeng.
They have already discussed about the cargo ships, they were going to use them to transport food. However, there were actually more resources listed than what Zhou Qingfeng had expected. After a rough look, Zhou Qingfeng was happy with it.
The resources were not just food; there were many of the industrial products used in everyday life. Paper, toilet paper, pads for women - these were the things that did not seem that important in daily life, but without them, it could be huge trouble. Imagine, during the middle ages, people used ropes to clean their bottoms. Zhou Qingfeng could not imagine life without those simple things.
Other than those things, Zhou Qingfeng was especially happy about the equipment, the maintenance workers, and repairers of ships. They were coming from the shipyard in Newport News. They were already on their way to the Abaco Island. In fact, they were extra gifts for Zhou Qingfeng because he provided information about the aircraft carrier, Kennedy.
There was even a 500-ton gantry crane. Even though it was very old and considered garbage while it was cleared from the storage of Newport New, it was priceless for Zhou Qingfeng. In addition to the maintenance workers, the repairers who could build the gantry crane and a shipyard were going to be very useful.
Not only could a modern shipyard build and demolish ships, it could be an entry level ordnance factory. In fact, Jiangnan Shipyard used to be the largest military enterprise in China. It would be amazing for Zhou Qingfeng to own a standard shipyard.
Zhou Qingfeng could not imagine how good it would be, especially with the unlimited fuel from Polarlys and Kennedy in the future,
Other than the shipyard, Zhou Qingfeng got a few factories as well.
There was an electronic device factory where he could make an engine factory that could produce engines with less than two thousand horsepower, an alchemy factory that could produce materials, and a chemical plant that could turn petroleum to fuel.
They were all from the last century - old and inefficient. Zhou Qingfeng was really surprised that Enclave was able to find those old stuff that had been sitting in the storage for years.
It seemed like Enclave was helping the Polarlys Legion stabilize the industrial system in Latin. In fact, they were just giving them the stuff that were not useful to them. Zhou Qingfeng accepted all of them anyway as they were all free. If used properly, they would be great tools after the nuclear war.
They got tons of engineers, equipment, technology, and resources. The Polarlys Legion collected a lot from the Enclave and it was time to do something for them.
"We're planning to attack Nassau either tomorrow or the day after."
"That's great, are you confident about it?"
"To be honest, it's really tough. We can't guarantee we'll make it."
"Do you need help? Remember the Lockheed AC-130 gunship we agreed on earlier?"
"Of course we need help. Come, come…., let's talk about it"
Zhou Qingfeng discussed with Clooney outside the room. Meanwhile, from the wireless radio, Santos received information that the army in Nassau was ready. Santos commanded, "Attack tomorrow, destroy the Polarlys Legion!"
