Chapter 4.2: Trouble Comes Knocking
"A month after today, we'll have Yun Qing Yan duel my son, Yun Yang Qing! Whoever wins, will then be the Clan Leader's new successor!" The Grand Elder said with an icy sneer.
"Grand Elder, are you joking? Yun Qing Yan is now merely just at the Star level's third stage, and you want him to duel with Yun Yang Qing who is at the Star level's sixth stage in just one month!" Eldest Uncle Yun Han's face immediately became dark.
"Who is joking with you? Since Yun Qing Yan said he will be able to sit right back onto the seat of the Heaven's Wing City within the first year, then wouldn't defeating my son in a month's time then be easy as pie for him? Of course, if after one month, he is still not a match for my son, that would only mean that everything Yun Qing Yan had just said was all just him trumpeting his own horn."
The Grand Elder then turned to look tauntingly at Yun Qing Yan to say: "Yun Qing Yan, do you dare agree to it?"
Yun Qing Yan shrugged his shoulders indifferently and said: "Why wouldn't I dare? But a month is too long. Change it to seven days instead!"
"Ooooh!"
The moment Yun Qing Yan said those words, the main hall immediately erupted with loud exclamations of surprise.
The one month's timeline the Grand Elder initially gave already had all of them feeling it was too short, and less than equitable towards Yun Qing Yan. But unexpectedly, Yun Qing Yan had actually chosen to shorten that one month….. to just seven days!
Has Yun Qing Yan completely lost his mind?
Or was he thinking that even if it's one month later, he will still not be Yun Yang Qing's match, so he had decided that since it was already hopeless, he might as well just smash the cracked jar and shorten the one month's time into seven days instead?
Not just the others were feeling that was the case.
At that moment, even 'Uncle Money' whose feelings towards Yun Qing Yan had almost reached close to the point of blind worship was thinking that Yun Qing Yan had gone mad!
"Hahaha! Don't forget what you've said!" The Grand Elder immediately laughed aloud.

When they were young, Yun Qing Yan had beaten up Yun Qing Yan a good number of times. The main reason for that was because Yun Yang Qing was really just too detestable a person! He was always using his position as the Grand Elder's son to built others.
There was even an occasion when Yun Yang Qing had taken liberties with Little Cai, he was very nearly castrated by a completely enraged Yun Qing Yan!
Fortunately for him, some of their elders managed to rush there in time which spared Yun Yang Qing from the calamity.
Having the date for the due set to happen in seven days, the Family Clan meeting then quickly dispersed.
"Little Yan, I'll walk you back!" Eldest Uncle Yun Han said. On the way back, Eldest Uncle was hesitant to speak, his eyes filled with an apologetic glint. In the end, he came to say: "Little Yan, Eldest Uncle is so useless. Your Eldest Uncle has really let you down!"
If it was Yun Qing Yan's father that was still heading the Family, Yun Qing Yan who was at the Star level's third stage would immediately be made the successor with just one word from him.
Yun Qing Yan's father held absolute and unquestionable authority in the Yun Family Clan, and even the four great Elders could do nothing but obey.
"Eldest Uncle, if you really feel apologetic, you must then tell me everything about the incident that happened to Big Brother Yun Xuan after I defeat Yun Yang Qing." When Yun Qing Yan said that, his eyes flashed with a chilling glint of murder.
"It's a deal!" Eldest Uncle's eyes were resolute, his teeth gritted together as he replied.
After walking Yun Qing Yan to the courtyard, Eldest Uncle Yun Han stayed for awhile before he left.
Yun Qing Yan then began his preparations for his elixir cultivation. He was going to cultivate elixirs and with his current level of cultivation, he was expecting that he would have to cultivate without rest for two days straight to do it.
In order to avoid having anyone coming in to disrupt him, he had not only informed his Eldest Uncle, he had even specifically summoned the old steward Yun Yuan to come keep guard.
After all the preparations were completed, Yun Qing Yan locked the room''s door and opened the elixir cauldron he had placed inside.
