Chapter 3.3: The Return of the King
"Yun….. Yun Qing Yan!"
Besides the Clan Leader Yun Han, everyone within the palace were all stunned into a daze, all of them looking like they had just seen a ghost as they stared at Yun Qing Yan.
Nobody could have ever thought that a person who had been missing for three years and had been presumed to be as good as dead would appear before them once again.
Immediately, the crowd in the great hall all fell back into their memories of Yun Qing Yan.
In a time back in the past, Yun Qing Yan was the successor they were all most satisfied with and he was also the pride of the Yun Family Clan. Regardless whether it was Yun Xuan or the Grand Elder's son Yun Yang Qing, when placed before Yun Qing Yan both the others seemed to dim and looked lacklustre.
But he had suddenly disappeared, like he had evaporated from the face of the earth.
If he had not gone missing, then he might already be able to hold the Yun Family Clan up to new heights now.
"I'm back!" Yun Qing Yan looked at everyone, not putting on any proud airs, but still made them all feel as if a king had really returned.
"Respects to the Young Master!"

Aside from Yun Han and the four great Elders, all the department heads in the great hall had fallen to their knees onto the floor.
The gazes they looked at Yun Qing Yan with were filled with respect, not just because of his father's revered valor, but was more from the halo Yun Qing Yan himself possessed.
The year that he went missing, the fifteen year old Yun Qing Yan had already attained the Star level's fifth stage in his cultivation and was proudly known as the Heaven's Wing City's most prodigious genius, the most gifted prodigy they had seen in the past hundred years.
That record, aside from the more monstrous Little Cai who surpassed him, everyone else could not even hope to hold a candle to Yun Qing Yan.
Among the four great Elders, the Grand Elder's face was grim, while the other three Elders stared with highly conflicted expressions at Yun Qing Yan. From what they were thinking, with these three years that had passed, Yun Qing Yan's cultivation would surely have increased by leaps and bounds.
"Our four great Elders, I hereby name Little Yan as the successor. Does any of you object to it?" At that moment, Eldest Uncle Yun Han's voice rang out.

Without hesitation, the Second Elder, the Third Elder and the Fourth Elder immediately agreed to it, and their voices had even risen up in unison.
"I….." The shade on the Grand Elder's face was wavering, wanting to say something, but was unable to utter a single word.
"Yun Qing Yan, can I know, currently what cultivation level are you at….." For the Grand Elder to ask that question, it already showed that he had come to soften his stance.
The great hall fell silent in that instant, as if the sound of everyone's breathing had disappeared. Everyone held their breaths and stared with rapt attention, their ears pricked up as they waited for Yun Qing Yan's forthcoming answer.
The answer to that question, was not one that only the Grand Elder was curious about, but it had also piqued the curiosity of all who were present in there.
Three years ago, he who already possessed the Star level's fifth stage would now have risen to what kind of a level…..
"Star level third stage!" Yun Qing Han did not try to hide it but answered truthfully, or should it be said that he could not even be bothered to hide it. In his eyes, whether it was the Star level's third stage, the Lunar level's third stage or even the Sun level's third stage, it made absolutely no difference at all.
They were all just cultivation levels in the mortal realm.
"Little Yan….." Eldest Uncle Yun Han's eyes flashed with a glint of anxiety. He had not thought that Yun Qing Yan would reveal his cultivation level without holding back at all.
"What did you say?" The Grand Elder just could not believe his own ears. He had even thought that Yun Qing Yan's cultivation could possibly be no lower than his own and had never imagined that the answer that came out of Yun Qing Yan's mouth would be the Star level's third stage!
If it was said that the fifteen year old Yun Qing Yan at the Star level's fifth stage three years ago was a super prodigy, then the Star level's third staged eighteen year old Yun Qing Yan had completely been reduced to become the epitome of mediocrity!
The entire group of department heads who had held great hopes for Yun Qing Yan immediately showed expressions of disappointment upon hearing that answer.
