Chapter 2
As Feng Ping Lan went to the sickbay, Liu Yi Chen and the others headed towards the dining hall below the dormitories as usual .
They weren’t sure when it had started, but these few individuals had gotten used to moving in a group .
Bai Li Rui would accompany them once in a while, but he had been spending his lunch breaks in his own dorm for the past few days . Apparently, he wanted to prepare early for the end-of-term exams, and his dorm had a quieter atmosphere that enabled him to study .
However, Ivan was firmly convinced that Bai Li Rui had returned to his room to watch films and destress, even cautioning his female classmates not to shake hands with him to avoid accidentally getting pregnant .
“It’s just a love letter, why is he overreacting?” Ivan took a bite of his sesame pastry, then drank some of his warm sesame paste, saying disapprovingly, “He’s acting like the winning lottery ticket appeared in his hands, isn’t he just too happy?”
“Humans are always concerned about how the opposite sex thinks of them . Every living creature strives to increase their chances of copulation, in order to promote the odds of passing down their own genes . That’s why there is an instinctual fear of having their entire family exterminated lurking inside of them . ” Conglong said thoughtfully, telling them of the knowledge he had learned from books .
“I see . ” Ivan suddenly understood, “Then Bai Li Rui must be deeply caught in such a fear . ”
“Hasn’t Feng Ping Lan dated anyone before this?” Liu Yi Chen asked curiously, “To be honest, putting aside his strange words and actions, his looks aren’t bad and he has a cheerful and amiable personality . He must have been very popular with the girls in junior high . ”
“Wait a minute, he was a rebellious kid in junior high, did you forget how he was when he got hit by the regression curse?” Ivan reminded her .
“Oh, right . ”

Conglong and the others exchanged glances .

Dongya smiled, throwing out a safe answer, “We haven’t had our contract for long . Due to some circumstances, we aren’t very clear on Feng Ping Lan’s past, nor have we asked him about it . ”
They had only met Feng Ping Lan at the start of this school term, signing a contract with him due to a strange combination of factors . Just like Liu Yi Chen and the others, they knew absolutely nothing about Feng Ping Lan’s past .
All they knew was that Feng Ping Lan was guarding their secret . This was the only thing that outsiders did not know of them, that only the six contracts were aware of .
“Oh, alright . ” Ivan promptly stopped asking about it .
Every Summoner family had their own secrets, and not probing into their personal affairs was a tacit agreement among them .

Su Li Wan was silent, seemingly deep in thought .
“What’s wrong?”
Su Li Wan spoke hesitantly, “Actually… I’m a little worried about that letter . ”

“Are you jealous?”

Simo, who had the same feeling, nodded hard .
“…A female lead with such a chaotic characterization cannot possibly exist…” She whispered her complaint .

Su Li Wan smiled, “Xiao Liu, to think that the sender is really innocent and pure-hearted, you’re the innocent and pure-hearted one . ”
Liu Yi Chen raised her eyebrows . She couldn’t tell if Su Li Wan was complimenting her or making a dig at her .
“Hey, she might look normal on the outside, but wild on the inside . ” Morris cut in, “Some people may look virtuous, but there are a few dozen shades to them in private . ”
Simo widened her eyes, glancing at Morris, “…That book’s with you?”
“Don’t place it in the living room if you don’t want it to be taken away by someone else . ” Morris humphed, cool as a cucumber .
“If her image was different from what she presents in the letter, she wouldn’t go out of her way to reveal her hidden side to the person she likes . ” Su Li Wan refuted this conjecture .
“You really know a lot!” Conglong praised .
“I used to go to an all-girls school . ” Su Li Wan smiled modestly .
“It might not necessarily be what you say . ” Liu Yi Chen was unable to approve of Su Li Wan’s conclusion, “She might actually be a natural airhead, aren’t there plenty of girls like that at the moment? Although they’re helpless and clumsy, they’re stupidly adorable . ”
“That’s right . ” Ivan agreed, “Although I hate idiots, I also think they’re quite cute when they become all awkward and clumsy . ”

The moment he spoke those words, the sounds of people slamming the desks and walls rang out as they roared .
“It sucks!”

“Uh, picking nicknames for each other is to express our familiarity . I actually have nicknames for all of you, but I’ve never spoken them aloud…” Feng Ping Lan scratched his head, “I’m really happy that someone has a crush on me, but…”
He was just delighted and happy, nothing more .
He hadn’t thought anything else about their future relationship, nor did he have too many expectations .
“It probably has to do with both of your identities . ” Su Li Wan guessed . “She might be a day school student . ”

As for Quetzal, he hadn’t appeared from the beginning to end, heading there on his own .
“Finally remembered to bring us along?” Ivan said sarcastically to Feng Ping Lan . “You kept on sneaking out to complete missions behind our backs, what a great friend you are . ”
“No, those missions were all D-rank and under, some of them were just small matters such as running errands and delivering goods, so we didn’t ask you guys for help . ” Feng Ping Lan sat in the window seat, his head lowered to writing something as he answered .
In actuality, the main reason they had taken those missions was to exchange information, and there were even times when it was unpaid labor . This was also the main reason why they didn’t want others to lend a hand in these missions .
“Besides, the reward of these D-rank missions aren’t very high, and if more people participate in them, the amount of money remaining after dividing it will be reduced .
