956 Whose Smart Babies Are These
When Zi Yi and the rest left China, it was mid-March. By the time they returned, it was already mid-June.
Mrs. Lu’s eyes turned moist at the sight of the two of them alighting from the car.
Zi Yi walked over and hugged her as she said with a smile, “Mom, we’re back.”
Mrs. Lu finally could not control her tears as they spilled down her face. She patted Zi Yi on her back and even until now, she was still feeling lingering fear over the crisis. “Bad child. You guys left for three whole months! Do you know how worried I was at home?”
“Mom, don’t cry anymore. Didn’t I leave behind two little babies to accompany you?”
Mrs. Lu smiled while tears were streaming down her cheeks. “How is that the same? I just hope that you all can live a life that is safe and sound.”
“We returned safe and sound, didn’t we?” Zi Yi stopped hugging Mrs. Lu, grabbed her hand and headed inside the villa. While walking, she said, “Mom, let’s go and take a look at the babies first.”
“The two babies have grown up now and they are pretty naughty. They would kick around here and there inside the nutrient solution. Fortunately, they did not grow in your belly. Otherwise, you would have been suffering at around this time.”
“Hehe, isn’t this more interesting and fun?”
Both of them made their way upstairs, leaving behind Lu Jingye and Second Master Lu who were standing in the courtyard.
Second Master Lu patted Lu Jingye on his shoulders and said, “It’s been hard on the both of you this time around. Especially Zi Yi. She gained honor for the country.”
Lu Jingye nodded his head.
The pair of father and son walked to the living room together. While they walked, they talked about what had transpired during the recent period of time.
Zi Yi and Mrs. Lu arrived at the nursery and Zi Yi saw the two sleeping babies at the very first instance.
By this time, the two babies were already fully developed. Zi Yi stood there and looked at them for some time before she said to Mrs. Lu, “In fact, they can be taken out now, if you wish for them to come out.”
“Didn’t you say it’s healthier for them to stay in the nutrient solution until they are full term? We should let them remain in there and take them out when the time is right.”
“That works too.”
Zi Yi put her hand on the wall of the nutrient solution container. The two babies seemed to have sensed her presence as they opened their eyes at the same time.
“Wow! Isn’t this the so-called mother and child connection? They are actually looking at you.”
Zi Yi was also looking at them. She smiled and greeted them “Babies, I’m back.”
The two babies closed their eyes, but they kicked their legs in her direction and leaned on the wall of the container. They looked as though they were trying to act spoiled before Zi Yi.
Their adorableness instantly caused Mrs. Lu’s heart to melt.
“Oh my! Our two little babies are so smart!”
Zi Yi’s lips unconsciously curled up.
Her hands remained on the wall of the container. She released some mental energy toward the brain tissues of the two babies.
The mental energy transformed into an extremely warm current and spread around their brain tissues. Subsequently, Zi Yi was surprised to find out that the two babies were born with mental energy. Right now, they were unconsciously responding to her.
After she discovered this point, her smile widened and she said, “You’ll be able to come out in another two months.”
The two babies responded to her by moving their heads.
Mrs. Lu stood by the side and watched Zi Yi spend time with the babies. The smile on her face did not disappear throughout the whole time. She slowly told Zi Yi about the various changes in the babies during the past three months.
Both of them remained in the nursery for more than an hour, until Lu Jingye came in and called for them, “Mother, Yiyi, Eldest Uncle called earlier and invited us over to have dinner.”
“Oh my! How could we let our in-laws invite us over? We were supposed to invite them over for dinner tonight.”
“It doesn’t matter who invites who.”
Zi Yi held Mrs. Lu’s arm and said, “Mom, let’s go. It doesn’t matter where we eat. Everything is good as long as the whole family sits down together.”
“Haha, you’re right.”
Mrs. Lu did not oppose the idea. The madams from the Dou Family would come over and visit the babies twice every week. Mrs. Lu would also bring some tonics over for Elder Dou on behalf of Zi Yi. Over time, it was inevitable that the two families became close.
When the family of four arrived, the Dou Family members were already waiting for them in the courtyard.
“Grandfather, Uncles, and Aunts, we’ve returned.”

Zi Yi and Lu Jingye greeted the group.
The elders had smiles on their faces and at the same time, the rim of their eyes turned wet.
Elder Dou held Zi Yi’s hand and checked her from head to toe. Only then was he relieved. “Dear child, everything’s good as long as you return home safe and sound.”

Zi Yi smiled and said, “I promised that I’ll accompany Grandfather to walk around M.Uni. How could I not come back safe and sound?”

The moment the First Madam said that, everyone headed inside the living room.
After dinner, everyone sat in the living room and discussed what happened during the past few months.

The Third Madam nudged him. “What nonsense are you sprouting?”

Unexpectedly, Dou Yurui and Dou Yue’er had the same response as him.
Dou Yurui said, “I didn’t only open several accounts. I even mobilized all my classmates. All those people are simply jokers. How could brother-in-law be the one who spread the virus? Clearly, there was someone who wanted to frame him.”
Lu Jingye smiled and said to them, “Thank you.”
When they received his thanks, they somehow felt embarrassed.
Zi Yi suddenly thought of something and she asked Dou Yue’er, “Yue’er, how are your results?”
Dou Yue’er had already taken her university entrance examination.
Dou Yue’er was very confident. “It’s not a problem for me to get into M.Uni.”
Zi Yi smiled and said, “If that’s the case, the promise I mentioned previously still stands. How about I help you arrange your travel plans?”

When the Fourth Madam said that, Dou Yue’er disagreed with her. “How am I an adult now? I’m the youngest in the family and I’m forever going to be a child.”
“Aren’t you embarrassed by saying that? Speaking of children, Yiyi’s two babies are the youngest.”
“Hehe, they aren’t born yet and before that happens, I’m still the youngest.”
