"May I?" Ye Qi was surprised by the invitation, after all, they weren't on the friendliest of terms. Technically speaking, they were even romantic rivals. Therefore, Ye Qi shrugged with mock helplessness and rejected the offer. "I'm interested, but this will be too hard for a rider who just learned how to ride a horse today, right?"

"Mr. Ye Qi is a good enough rider!" Evan shook his head, he spared no efforts to convince Ye Qi. "Even though you're still rather rigid on horseback and are unable to participate in any joust, you're definitely good enough for a simple patrol! Especially since you're currently riding the horse that is famed within our camp to be the most uncontrollable, in fact, I would say Mr. Ye Qi is a natural rider!"

"In that case, let us go!"

Noticing the other soldiers nodding conspiratorially when Evan gave his explanation, Ye Qi's brows furrowed slightly. However, they immediately unfurled as Ye Qi agreed to the invitation.

Fine, let me what you have planned this time!

Ye Qi who was at the front of the team alongside Evan smirked with condescension—trying hard to suppress your opponent is a good thing but overdoing it would only lead to your self-destruction!

Even though the sun was setting, the weather was still quite humid and hot in Summer Crinkle. The other thing that hadn't dampened as the moon rose to the sky was the passion of the tourists visiting Summer Crinkle, especially when a troop of knights in shining armour passed through them.

Ye Qi rejected the advances of a female tourist who wanted to take a picture with him with a gentle smile—Ye Qi with his black horse and black windbreaker stood out among the knights with silvery armour. This attracted the attention of many tourists, especially the female ones. Perhaps, it was truly as they say, nice guys finish last and women only love the bad boys. Ye Qi, who looked like a fallen angel being escorted by a group of honourable knights, was a hit among the ladies.

"You didn't tell me we're patrolling the city," Ye Qi commented as he looked at the knights who surrounded him like he was a real prisoner and the flashing lights of the camera around them. He added sarcastically, "Evan, you must really love your work that you're willing to come and act as poster boys for these tourists."

No wonder, he was so adamant in inviting me, this is the reason why!

Due to the Demon Hunter's job description, it was required for them to remain in the darkness. If their name preceded them, it could lead to unforeseeable difficulty when they carried out their mission, the closest example being the Agent Lady recognizing John. As a trained knight, of course, Evan knew of this, so this was done to spite Ye Qi.

Should these pictures appear in some unsavoury places in the future, it would definitely be a disadvantage in Ye Qi's life as a Demon Hunter.

"For the glory of Summer Crinkle, we knights are willing to do anything!" Evan didn't show any trace of anger from the snide comment, in fact, he managed to squeeze out the proclamation judiciously. This made Ye Qi narrow his eyes dangerously.

"Is that so?" Ye Qi's mouth curved into a smile and he added with sarcasm, "Then, you should definitely do more!"

Evan who was still enjoying the fact that he had managed to pull one over his opponent couldn't catch up to Ye Qi's insinuation. Before he realized it, Ye Qi's feet already came flying at his waist.

Evan who didn't expect Ye Qi to attack him, fell off his horse after being kicked. Ye Qi made use of this commotion to order Gelding to speed up. The black horse galloped over Evan's back, leaving a startling sunken pit on the knight's armour.

At the same time, Ye Qi's voice drifted back on the wind. "Want to catch me? Impossible! A free spirit can never be shackled…"

The whole dramatization of the moment made the tourists who were in shock a second ago start to clap—as a famous tourist spot, Summer Crinkle would often break into spontaneous live performance to liven up the atmosphere.

Naturally, the whole escapade by Ye Qi was misunderstood as one of the performances, in fact, some of the tourists started to snap pictures of the injured Evan thinking he was just acting…

Ye Qi didn't return to the Cavalry camp but headed straight for the Demon Hunter headquarters—those pictures taken of Ye Qi had to be taken care of somehow. The only force powerful enough to have them wiped out was the Demon Hunter headquarters. Furthermore, Ye Qi was an Apostle registered to the headquarters, of course, he would rely on them to help him settle this.

"I understand!" The cold-faced man nodded after he listened to Ye Qi's report. "I will report to the headquarters after I finish this class, and it will be taken care of!"

Ye Qi then parted from Noah to greet his group of old friends. Then he left the headquarters to return to the camp—after all, Ye Qi wasn't naïve enough to think this would be the end. If he didn't return to report back at the camp, more crimes would probably be laid on him.

He would leave the pictures for Noah to worry about—while Ye Qi didn't have many good things to say about the guy, one thing that was praiseworthy about Noah was his fairness, or else he wouldn't have been friends with the kind and honest Titan for so long.

Ye Qi, who arrived at the camp, happened to come across Alice who was leaving it. Behind her was a group of knights he had gone patrolling with earlier, and Evan lying on top of a stretcher. Based on the angry gaze Alice was shooting his way, Ye Qi knew they must have fed her some stories about him. Regardless, he couldn't help but laugh under his breath when he saw Evan who groaned in pain on the stretcher.

From the looks of things, it seemed like they were going to report him to the headquarters and quite possibly evacuate him from the camp once and for all.

Of course, that Evan would make this bigger than it is! Alas, doesn't he know that a vice-captain is no match for the value of an Apostle? Coming at me is not a bright idea on his part—love can indeed make people foolish it seems.

The young Demon Hunter who saw the knight's ploy from miles away scoffed with derision—the things Evan did to frame him were enough to send him into Tower of Thorns for life. Going to the headquarters now was merely to save them time from having to come down here to arrest him!

The Cavalry Captain who was still in the dark, walked to Ye Qi and demanded, "How can you attack your own comrade?"

"So that's what Evan said?" Ye Qi asked in return before turning to Alice to pose her a question. "You're not going to hear my side of the story first before you persecute me?"

"Captain, don't listen to his lies! We have to go to the headquarters…" Evan roared angrily. If not for the fact he was lying on the stretcher, based on the strength of his voice, one would think he was a perfectly healthy man.

"I have to say, that set of armour is quite strong!" Ye Qi roared in return but his was filled with mocking humour. "Based on the amount of groaning you made earlier, I would think you’ve broken your back or something. But, a word of advice, you’d better reserve your energy, because I believe they haven't heard an energetic roar like yours in a long time in the Tower of Thorns!"
