Soojiki’s note: I’m just doing this because I want to catch up, not cause of you guys!

[Author’s note:]

“…..I’m back…..”

As soon as I said it, he came back.

In his left hand was that bow I made and in his right hand is a grey rabbit.

“Freshly caught”

Though he’s a bit taciturn and likes say the necessary minimum, you can tell how happy he is even with his ordinary facial expression.

“That’s a huge game! With one shot?”

He confirmed with a delightful nod

“You can give it to Sapull later, but come wash your hand to eat breakfast”

Un as his nod seem to say and he dashed off to the sink.

“If he’s killing with one shot, he’s going to become a fine hunter~”

As Mom remarked.

But in reality, a 5-year-old hunting a grey rabbit is beyond abnormal, if comparing to the populace.

The grey rabbits are about the same size as my previous world, but they possess atrocious nails and are as nimble as an average cat. It’s already tough for some first-class hunter too.

I thought at that time it was right to teach Toota how to hunt and gave him a bow, from there his talent blossomed. In just 5 days he’s able to hit bull’s-eyes. I also taught him throwing knives usage, to which his talent bloomed there too. In as short as three days, he can ambidextrously hit bull’s-eyes. Of course I was dumbfounded, but Mom was a genius with the bow and arrow so it must run in the blood.

……Well, in this world there’s various races, ranging from humans to goblin like. So I guess its like that…..

“Hunting is fine and all but at this pace we’ll have too much to eat. The storage cellar is nearly full”

In the morning its one animal. Around noon its two to three. That’s not bad at all if we’re saving it.

It’s a relief to preserve as much as possible in the event that famine hits, but we’re saving too much. Our family’s storage cellar is only about the size of a school gymnasium…..

“We’ll carry it over to Granny then”

Gradually, the food will start expiring and we’ll have to start saving firewood. Let’s go check out the village later today.

While thinking that, Toota finished washing his hand and sat down to eat.

After finishing eating and drinking some medicinal tea, Toota brought out his pouch.

What’s in there, as I peeked in and saw goblins ears inside.

One would think that seeing those after a meal would make a person sick to the stomach, but there’s no such feeling here. Living in a sword and magic world for 10 years, goblins and such are an everyday occurance. Occasionally I want a mole (not really a mole, kind of like a styracosaurus) to come out every now and then.

“It’s Spring right?”

“No, Spring has nothing to do with goblins”

That taciturn Toota would tsukkomi me. If he can do that, he can do anything.

“How many?”

“Bout three”

If it’s three, it’s probably a scout. It’s likely that there’s a large amount that has crossed over.

A standard goblin group would be around 10 members independently hunting. I heard (from an adventuer) that up to 30 would group together and hunt independently too. But if it’s a 3 goblin group, it may be a herd of 100 to less than 200 which is not strange at times.

“……….This will become a stampede…..”

Goblins and other monsters (the ones with a sense of intelligence are called magical beasts) that often increase exponentially are an indication of disaster happening soon. If people knew, they would escape while they still can. If they didn’t know, they’ll be destroyed.

Reporting to the feudal lords? I’ve considered doing that before, but they’ll probably abandon everything. The feudal lords’ army is less than 100 soldiers. Though goblins, they may be in a berserker status and amounting to more than 200 would deal a deadly blow to the army. Both unskillful and total annihilation. If the village was bad, the feudal lords would even consider letting it be targeted as it’s army tactic (from someone’s slave discussion).

There’s also the option to request for adventurers to help, though if the feudal lords’ army were to even give up on this, they would have no reason to put their lives on the line. Well, even if an A rank party were to possibly accept this request, there’s less than 10 high ranking party in this country and even then this village does not have the money to pay them.

Well, it’s lucky I knew. Immediately running away——–or so how the general populace would be doing. But if it’s relating to the village, no, even to myself who was transformed by its warmth. In particular, is that there’s nothing making a huge fuss here.

“Well, it’s a good timing then”

Lately, I’ve been thinking I wanted a poison taste tester. Well, even with those goblins who eat very poorly, if I want to understand poison then I’ll have to endure with it. It’s also the season for bandits coming out so it’ll be lucky if I can catch one too.

“Toota. Tomorrow we’ll go and investigate the location and their numbers”

“But you promised to teach us magic today”

Are, did I?

“Mo~! An-chan always forget easily”

Lately, my siblings started taking interest in magic. Already showing signs of being talented in magic too. Seriously, what kind of blood does my family carry?

Incidentally, Sapull and Toota are not too concerned about the stampede. Why? They saw me massacring a group of ogres’ wielding clubs and have already seen me tearing large rocks in half countless times. They already experienced lack of common sense and they now lack common sense themselves. They’re already not surprised by the stampede.

“Ok then, I’ll show you guys until noon. I’ll teach magic throughout the morning. Is that fine?”

“Yup”

“You too Sapull?”

“Un. That’s fine”

Having obedient siblings makes An-chan happy!
