Level 49! Just one step away from Level 50 .
Level 50 was another junction after the job-change in Level 40, and it applied mainly to skills and techniques . Most of the skills in the game could be learned from mentors .
However, there were two types of skills that did not belong to that category . The first would be skills that resulted from a Job Mission, and the other would be from the Mystic Skill Book .
Players would be able to undergo skill enhancement once they leveled up 10 times after their job advancement . Hence, players would receive a Job Mission after reaching Level 50, and it would be their chance to develop and refine their skills . In other words, it would be a skill enhancement process, and players were able to control their direction of enhancement .
Lin Jie smiled faintly as he glanced at the skeletal debris littered across the region . These Skeleton Soldiers differed from the usual monsters as they were being controlled by players . How could he miss that? However, these two men made things a lot simpler for him as it would require lots of effort to gather all the Skeleton Soldiers into one area . Why would he reject their efforts?
These Skeleton Soldiers were the Wind Earl’s followers and were ferocious when they fought . Hence, their explosion rates were decent . After a series of attacks, Lin Jie received 25 gold coins and 40 pieces of Level 55 Silver equipment . With such an insane drop rate, Lin Jie managed to garner some interesting items .
[Unrestful Runes Rib]: A rune rib used to seal broken souls . After collecting at least 50 pieces, you can use it as a medium to summon the Undead Boss .
Lin Jie had 12 of these rune ribs as their explode rate wasn’t high .
Runes Ribs were considered to be one of the most deceiving items of the General’s Tomb, and it was linked to the 2 Hidden Bosses of the tomb . The first Hidden Boss was Military Advisor Legrie, and the second hidden was Forward Harun . Regardless of how many Runes Ribs one used, as long as it was more than 50 pieces, they would be able to summon the two Hidden Bosses . Anyone that saw the two Bosses would be ecstatic to slay them . But next? A tragedy would await them .
Unless they used the correct number of runes, they would only summon the Bosses’ duplicates . The duplicates were as strong as the Hidden Bosses, but they would not drop anything after they were killed . One could only expect how a team that struggled to kill the Hidden Boss would feel once they realized that they would not receive anything in return .
As he kept the Runes Ribs into his bag, Lin Jie knew that there would definitely be a market for these ribs . They would fetch a high price then .
After some recovery, Lin Jie continued on his journey again .
The main objective at General’s Tomb was to firstly, level up to Level 50, strengthen, and join the competition . Secondly, to obtain the Sub-Legendary Fragment from the General’s Tomb .

As he passed the Skeleton Soldiers’ region, a building appeared on the horizon—it was a jade green door surrounded by ghostly souls, and there were many Towers of Plagues . Behind the door were the Undead buildings: Undead Altar, Hall of Destruction, Hall of Corpses, and so on .
This region was [Messy Mud], and it spawned out many Elemental Mages that were the Wind Earl’s followers . On some occasions, Grand Mages might be spawned, and they were very tough to go against . Lin Jie was almost certain that the two men were all prepared and had summoned a large number of Elemental Mages to await for him . Also, Eighteen Massacres must be in the building preparing for the Wind Earl’s resurrection ritual!
Lin Jie’s strategy for this was to… wait!
That’s right, wait! Wait for the other players before attacking together at once .
The only solution Lin Jie had towards the bunge of Mages was to activate his Devour skill . Unfortunately, since Eighteen Massacres already knew of Devour’s weakness, he would have tipped off the two troublemakers regarding how to break his skills . Once Devour failed, Lin Jie would not have the confidence that he could go against the Mages .
Lin Jie simply cleared away an area of viscous mud before settling down . He opened Holy Light Winged Armor to absorb the surrounding Undead Aura while focussing and avoiding any possible ambush . He also took this time to understand what was going on with the rest and the map .
“Eh? Lin Jie, why did you message me?” Bu Yi answered Lin Jie’s call request and asked giggly, it was soon followed by a shriek and some running and tittering sound . The situation seemed to be pretty intense .
Lin Jie coughed and asked, “How’s leveling up in the Death Desert?”
Some healing sound effects sounded from Bu Yi’s side before she answered, “It’s still okay! Although the Death Desert’s entrance is pretty wide, many Bosses seem to have spawned nearby, and this resulted in many messy PKs…”
“Boss? The Death God’s Servant? That is the gatekeeper, I remember that other than having a high respawn rate, it doesn’t explode anything out, right?” Lin Jie’s face grew odd as he understood the average players’ mindset . They thought that all Bosses in the maps were valuable and would fight ferociously over them .
Bu Yi said in agreement, “That’s right, that’s right, we only found out after killing many of them . We then ventured deep into the map, and we found a desert shrine that spawned many Elite Kobolds . That increased our experience points very rapidly… Do you want to join us?”

“Actually… you are not disturbing,” muttered Bu Yi before smiling . ” Alright, I have to focus on healing, I have stuffed a couple of Power Word Shields onto Fat Cattle by accident…”
On the other side, The Heavenly Shield cried out, “Sister, you have finally realized the situation, I am almost getting killed by the surrounding monsters . ”
Lin Jie hung up and calculated the time . If the second batch of players didn’t face any obstacles on their way in, they would be reaching soon, so all he had to do was to wait patiently .
Just as expected, as the Skeleton Soldiers had already been cleared by Lin Jie, soon, he saw a group of players heading towards his direction . In the General’s Tomb’s map, up to 95% of monsters were spawned near the gigantic Undead City’s internal region .
‘I shall search for some cannon fodder teams . ’ Lin Jie’s eyes turned, and he whipped Broken Blade towards them . With his Codename Lone Wolf status, he wouldn’t have a problem searching for some teammates . Once he flashed his name, wouldn’t players come running to him?
As he grew near, he realized that they were acquaintances! The two guild leaders, Very Fat and Dark Earl, were dashing as players chased after them savagely, as though wanting to swallow them whole .
“F*ck, that’s the two of them! Let’s kill them . ”
“How could we let you escape after killing so many of our brothers?”
“Ahhh, these two bastards are running away so quickly!”

It turned out that Very Fat and Dark Earl had been outside the General’s Tomb and seen Lin Jie, Hardworking Pants, and Charming Smile kill the Boss and enter the map by electrocuting the players . They had grown anxious as Lone Wolf had entered! That fellow was the icon of the game up until now, and events that he was a part of were all extremely beneficial .
Hence, when the second Boss had been being respawned, the two guild leaders had come to an agreement to strike first and take the key to enter the map!
However, the number of solo players had been too large, and the two guilds had been unable to encircle the Boss by themselves . When the Boss had finally been respawned, most of the players from the two guilds had been segregated from it .
Hence, the two guild leaders had decided to use Lin Jie’s tactic and included Hardworking Pants this time round . With hundreds of Elemental Shamans and their Lightning Chain, they had electrocuted over 100 solo players!
The two guild leaders and some of the guilds’ players had made their way in, but due to the characteristics of how the Boss dropped the keys, most of the keys had been given to the solo players . As a result, the two guild leaders were in such a pinch now .
“Hey, hey, Brother Lone Wolf!” The Paladin, Very Fat, was running heavily, and his eyes lit up as he saw Lin Jie . He shook his unproportionally small finger and shouted, “Brother Lone Wolf, help us out!”
Lin Jie was planning to ignore the situation, but they were still two guild leaders of large guilds, it would be pretty worth it if he could sell them a favor . Thus, he went up and said, “Guild leaders, are you guys… running?”
Dark Earl’s mouth twitched, and he replied awkwardly, “Mhm…”
Lin Jie stood in front of the solo players . The two guild leaders stopped running as they saw Lin Jie taking the lead and made use of the time to speed up their skills’ cooldown period .
“Leader Lone Wolf…”
There were around 90 solo players, and they paused as they spotted Lin Jie .
One of them stepped forward and said, “We have heard about you since a long time ago, and we do not wish to offend you . However, these two men killed hundreds of solo players without any reason . Their ways really pissed us off . ”
Lin Jie nodded . “Indeed, it’s pretty annoying . ”
The man saw that there seemed to be a chance, so he continued, “I hope that Leader Lone Wolf would be understanding and stay out of this matter . We just want to kill them once to answer our brothers outside . ”
Lin Jie nodded again . “Mm, you should get an answer . ”
The man asked cautiously, “Then, would you let us through?”
“That… brother, I don’t want to sound nasty, but since you guys were able to enter the map, you guys should be pretty strong . Hence, you should be able to read the situation, right?” Lin Jie said, “Couldn’t you guys see that you got an additional item? Look at the bats behind you, they will probably explode in the next 10 seconds . ”
Everyone was stunned, and their faces changed as they realized that there were indeed blood-red bats on them .
Lin Jie waved his hands and unleashed the Army of the Dead . Instantly, hundreds of Flesh Eaters appeared from the ground, and Lin Jie manipulated them to capture the blood bats on everyone’s back . As they caught them, their bodies bulged in size and exploded open . The solo players’ faces grew dark .
Lin Jie took this chance and said, “Seems like our friends gave everyone here a chance . How about letting this incident go for my sake?”
The leader communicated with the rest and glared resentfully at the two guild leaders before turning to Lin Jie and saying respectfully, “Thank you, Leader Lone Wolf, for helping us . Since you voiced out, we will let this matter drop . ”
Dark Earl was surprised . The bats did belong to him, but they weren’t explosive bats . It was just his basic skill [Scouting Bats]! He had just cast it to let him know how many people were chasing him, that’s all!
Although he had been saved from a predicament, Dark Earl was in a state of unease . Lone Wolf’s method seemed to have strengthened his status, but why did he feel like they were in trouble!?
