Are you still troubled over it?” The president smiled lightly when he noticed that Zou Wenxuan was still in the meeting room. “Have you been intimidated by the freshman that Xu Shengnan has with her? We are in the capital. It has not been easy for us to maintain our position all these years. She is merely a freshman. She won’t be able to raise funds.”
This was his last year as president. He was no longer the ignorant freshman from back then who had an optimistic view of the future.
Looking for sponsorship was simply asking for money. It was not an easy task.
To people from other places, the top students from Peking University were incredible.
But in the capital, there were lots of freshmen every year. It was rare to see Peking University’s students in other places, but the streets of the capital were full of Peking University’s students and Tsinghua University’s students.

Ignorant teenagers would suffer lots of setbacks when looking for sponsorships.
“I can’t be sure. Someone told me that Qiao Nan has a friend at Peking University and her relatives drove a Mercedes-Benz,” Zou Wenxuan said lightly.
“Relatives of her friend?” The president was amused. “This is the funniest joke that I have heard this year.”
Relatives of her friend… It was not even her friends.
Qiao Nan’s relatives might not even be willing to give her money if she asked them for it, let alone the relatives of her friend.
It did not matter if the person drove a Mercedes-Benz or a plane.
It would be shameless of Qiao Nan to ask for money from them. Nobody would ask the relatives of one’s friend for sponsorship.
Zou Wenxuan thought about it and agreed with what the president said. She relaxed and smiled. “I may have been thinking too much. Xu Shengnan is too much. She is already in her third year, yet she keeps targeting me. We are classmates. We should lead our own lives. She is plain annoying to compete with me in every way.” If not for Xu Shengnan, she would not have been intimidated by a freshman.
Zou Wenxuan flushed red in anger at the thought that she had personally made a trip to talk to the freshman and offered her favors. The annoying thing was that she was rejected by the freshman. “When can we get our funds?”
“It is a bit of a hassle and it will take a little effort.” The president rubbed his forehead. “It is not that easy to get sponsorships from our seniors.” They did not know any big shots. Fortunately, many graduates of Peking University who were from other regions stayed and worked in the capital and had businesses here.
He did not know about those graduates who worked for other companies. He was focused on contacting those who had their own businesses and made money out of it.
Given that they were Peking University’s students, it was easier for them to look for sponsors.
Under such circumstances, most of the businesses were willing to provide sponsorships. However, they had just started their business, so they would not be willing to help if one kept asking them for sponsorships.
Furthermore, the English club knew to make use of their identity as Peking University’s students to get sponsors from Peking University graduates. Students from other clubs also knew of this method.
Everyone worked hard to earn money. Seniors who graduated before them might be able to help when being approached for the first or second time, but they might not help if they were asked multiple times.
Therefore, even though Zou Wenxuan had some connections since she was a third-year student, it was not easy to secure sponsorships.
“Didn’t you say that the senior who led you to join Peking University has been very successful in his business? How about we ask him for sponsorship? We haven’t asked him in the past. If we are successful, I suppose the amount will be fairly significant.” As long as they had the funds, the English club would be able to make sure that the event this year was much more successful than last year.
“He is doing well in his business.” The president smiled bitterly. “However, the problem is that not everyone is easy-going. This senior is a tough nut to crack. Back then in school, he did not have a good temper. If I was not a freshman and he did not need to help me, I would not have the chance to know him.”
He was not from the same faculty and he seemed to have the talent of running businesses even when he was still in school.
Everyone would need to look for sponsorship when they organized events. However, the senior himself came up with ways to get the funds. He did not need to seek help from others.
Because of this, the students seldom saw the senior when they organized events and looked for sponsorship.
Zou Wenxuan smiled. “I am very interested to know more about the person whom the president described as being challenging. Since this is the last time that I organize the event, shall I give it a try?” The president had mentioned more than once that the senior was young and capable.
Given some time, the senior would be able to make his mark in the capital and become the young entrepreneur that made Peking University proud.
He might be a tough nut to crack, but once she was successful, he would not simply provide them with sponsorship. He would be a tremendous help to them!
The president’s eyes lit up. “Yes, perhaps no man can resist the charms of a beautiful woman? Actually, the senior is willing to help us. After his business in on tracks, he is willing to help his alumnus. Zou Wenxuan, if you are able to work in his company after you graduate, you will have a bright future. But let me say this beforehand. The senior has strict requirements. If you are not a good worker, it is useless to have the looks.”
Zou Wenxuan had the looks and was good with her words. However, the president was not quite sure of her abilities.
Zou Wenxuan smiled. “President, thank you for the reminder. I am pretty confident in myself.” The more challenging the task was, the more eager she was to succeed.
She would not let such a good chance slip. He was such a capable senior. Perhaps they would end up in a romantic relationship?
