Finally, spotting a wild rabbit, he set down the watermelon and chased after the rabbit . But he lost sight of the rabbit, and because it was getting dark, he had to return home without even the watermelon . Basically a story about being too greedy and ending up with nothing in the end . Not too sure where the sesame seed part came from, unless it’s based on a different version of the story from what I came across .
OH apparently it’s about a monkey who lost/gave up the watermelon for a sesame seed . Basically means that he paid attention to minor things (the child’s parentage?) at the expense of bigger things (her love for him) .
