Xia Liang stood there with her head hanging down . She didn’t panic nor cry . She was incredibly calm, unlike other ladies raised in rich and powerful families .

If we could take advantage of this chance, it would be a great chance for you to beat the prince and for me to show you my loyalty to you . By then, my father wouldn’t be beheaded and we would get your trust . ”
Baili Jue narrowed his eyes to her words . He was completely shocked by her .

Then my father would pretend to help the prince but in fact work for the emperor . in that way, he could figure out what the prince is up to, get the evidences of his treason, and then get rid of the prince of Rui for the emperor . ”
Baili Jue pinched her cheek when she said that he was too stupid or fatuous . He teased, “what if the emperor is fatuous and he wouldn’t believe your father? He might put your father in jail and have him beheaded when your father tells him about it . ”
Xia Liang frowned at his words and calculated how possible it would be . Then she looked at Baili Jue and said, “master, do you have soldiers or power? How many do you have?”
According to her observation and guess, Xia Liang could tell that he was a man with power in this world .
“If I do and I have a lot, what would you do?” Baili Jue looked at Xia Liang, narrowing his eyes, looking forward to hearing more .
