Chapter 175: The Vicious Pigging Out Cycle

It's alright if others could still help her, but if they can't, she doesn't know to think about what she can do with her own powers… so she kind of brought it on herself for not actually paying attention to her children in the past, and not using her charm to continue persuading someone in power to get her son out.
But I think it's still important to remember that, a lot of daily happiness comes at the price of trampling on others, that's why it's so important to put ourselves in different shoes and consider the consequences of our actions. At the same time, a lot of simple happiness comes just from doing some little thing to bring another person happiness. But first of all, love yourself, live the life you desire, and be the person you want to be.
