Zhang Manhua instantly widened her eyes in shock and exclaimed, “What?! You won’t be coming home starting tomorrow and will be living somewhere else?!”
“Yes . ” She nodded solemnly .
Her mother clearly did not get what she meant .

“Mom, I mean that you have to live by yourself starting tomorrow . ” She patiently explained what she meant to her shocked mother .
Her explanation only made her mother more confused .
“You won’t be staying at home; where will you be staying, then?”
“Oh . Our company is having a training camp and requires the employees to live together, so from tomorrow onward, I will be staying in the company dormitory to take part in the training,” she clarified, looking somber .
She probably got used to lying, so although she was telling a lie right now, it sounded legit to anybody listening .
“Training?” Her mother had finally understood what she meant at this point .
“Mhm . ” She nodded . “This is enforced by the company, so I have no say in it . ”

“Mhm! I bought that because it’s got a nice fabric . ” Quickly getting up off the sofa, she took the coat from her mother’s hands and carefully returned it into the shopping bag .
Her mother did not notice her weird behavior, though, and just continued looking through the other bags .

Pei Ge’s heart trembled every time her mother touched an item, and when the latter was finally done looking through everything, the former heaved a sigh of relief .
“Ge Ge, when did your aesthetic view improve so much?” her mother teased .
“My friend chose them all for me . ” She recalled Mother Ji’s abnormal action of choosing stuff for her . She got quite a big scare from that earlier .
Surprisingly, and fortunately, Mother Ji’s sense of fashion was exceptionally good .
“Your friend has such a good taste . You should ask her for advice when you go shopping again next time . ” Her mother laughed .
She nodded half-heartedly and returned all the things to their bags before she excused herself in front of her mother and left the room .
In her rush to leave, she did not realize that the Chanel scarf had fallen onto the living room’s floor .

She was about to pass it over to her daughter, but she caught sight of the item’s price tag .
When she was opening each bag moments ago, she had only paid attention to the items’ designs .

“This shop is exaggerating too much…” she mumbled .
However, for some reason, she did not return this scarf to her daughter but continued holding it .
After a good night’s sleep, Pei Ge crawled out of bed early .
“Hah…” Yawning drowsily, she went to the washroom to clean herself .
Once she returned to her bedroom after washing up to change, she found her phone ringing .
“Who is it this early in the morning?”
She put on her skirt properly and then picked up her phone on the side table .
A happy smile instantly formed on her lips and eyes at the sight of the caller ID .
“Seriously, why is this annoying fellow calling me this early?”
