Several dozens of kilometers away from the village that Will first arrived in, there was a boy sitting in meditation with dark hair that seemed as if it was absorbing the sunlight, and he wore a set of cloth clothes full of patches.
Flowing around the boy was a ring of dark mist that pulsated as if it was breathing.
All around the boy was a ring of death, all the grass, and all the trees in the vicinity all withered and turned into dust.
Even the earth he was sitting on was cracking as all the vitality was sucked out of it, it was if he was draining the world of it's life force.
With a tremble of his body, the dark mist surrounding him flooded into his body alongside his breath, flowing in through his nostrils.
Crackling sounds reverberated through his body as his muscles could be seen bulging against the fabric of his shirt.
His dark hair started to take on a hint of silver as small wrinkles started to appear on his face, it seemed as if some of his life force was consumed.
With a shudder his eyes snapped open as a dark light shone from his eyes, causing a tree meters away to start to rot rapidly.
The dark light quickly faded as he clenched his fists as an expression of rage appeared on his face.
-It's fine, you'll get your revenge soon, then I can take your body!
This boy is Arnold, ever since the day he crawled out from the bodies of his fellow villagers, he has been training to get his revenge.
With the help of a high ranking demon from the demon world, his power has risen by leaps and bounds.
His power was already close to that of a level 2 melee fighter, his speed of training was something hardly heard of.
In this world there are Mages, Melee fighters, Alchemists, and Array masters.
They all are separated by 4 levels, past the fourth level is a very rare sacred level, hardly anyone has ever reached this in all of the world's history.
For Melee fighters the power increase is as such:
Level 1: two times increase in physical capabilities
Level 2: four times increase in physical capabilities
Level 3: eight times increase in physical capabilities
level 4: sixteen times increase in physical capabilities
The sacred level: Further increases physical capabilities by two times.
For melee fighters and mages, what gets multiplied is their base power.
Melee fighters power is based on their body, if you have a weaker body, you will always have a weaker body, because at level one you will be weaker than all the other level one's.
The same can be applied to mages, except it is all based on mental power.
If you lack talent, you will always fall behind.
Like in any world, no one is equal.
Alchemists usually consist of lower ranked mages, they only need to manipulate the ingredients and manage the cauldron's fire.
The level of alchemists increase depending on their knowledge.
The same can apply to array masters, except they cultivate the power of their soul in order to manipulate the surroundings with arrays.
Standing up, Arnold walked over to a stream and looked at his appearance, he felt his skin change earlier and he was curious about the changes.
Looking into the stream, several minnows scattered at his arrival as he looked at the slightly rippling water.
He frowned as he noticed the silver in his hair, he didn't worry much about the wrinkles that were starting to form, he wasn't even fifteen yet, hell he is only twelve this year.
He frowned because he could tell he was rapidly aging, even his height has grown to that of an adult.
Noticing his reaction, the demon snickered as it quickly explained.
-I have you gaining power by absorbing the life force of the world, if the life force in the surroundings isn't enough, some of yours will be consumed to add onto your strength.
'Like I would tell him that I am making his body age rapidly because a child's body can't handle me possessing it, he would stop using the method I taught him then, who wants to be possessed in the first place?'
The demon encouraged Arnold to resume training after having eaten, convincing him that the rapid aging won't bring any harm to his body, neither would it shorten his lifespan.
'If this body isn't suitable in the end, I can just try to takeover him..'
Snickering to himself, the demon was looking at Arnold's memories of when Will created poison.
'It seems this boy is a rejected, if all else fails I can just acquire his body, I am interested in the abilities that he possesses as a rejected'
Rejected don't appear in just this world, they even appear in the demon world, more frequently actually.
Demons themselves are against the heavens, it makes sense that rejected will appear more frequently amongst the demons.
Human rejected are rare, they possess more unique abilities, why wouldn't a demon looking for a body to possess wish to acquire Will's body?
