Chapter 435 : You’re Thinking Too Much

Ning Xuemo even reckoned that if this man were to be involved in BL, he would only be the aggressive one and never the submissive one…

“What are you thinking about me this time?” Han Shanyue did not answer her previous question and instead, he sat halfway along the embroidered couch, looking at her casually.

Ning Xuemo then massaged her wrist which was swollen from his grip. “I’m guessing sire’s age,” she would not let him pass on her previous question.

“How old do you think I look like?”

“You ought to be in your seventies or eighties already, aren’t you?” Ning Xuemo tried to probe.

His appearance may be that of a twenty year old but, judging from his poise and mannerisms, he definitely is older than that, especially when his reputation has lasted for sixty years already.

His martial arts was exceptionally strong, probably at the same level with Ye Qingluan who had mastered the arts of retaining youth.

Han Shanyue gazed into her ever dark coloured pupils and asked, “Seventies, eighties, do you think it’s too young or old for you?”

“Of course it’s very old…” Ning Xuemo blurted it out, “At this age, you could very well be my grandfather!”

Han Shanyue was speechless.

“Grandfather?” Han Shanyue repeated and then he turned himself around and laid back. “Then from now on, you shall call me grandpa!”

Ning Xuemo kept quiet.

Did that mean that by marrying him, this had become a grandfather-grandchild relationship?

Although she said that she would never marry him, it would also be too unfortunate for her if she were to call him grandpa!

“Master Han, your appearance is even more youthful than the youngsters, calling you grandfather would be too inappropriate. I think I will continue calling you Master which is more fitting to your image.”

“Suit yourself.” Han Shanyue closed his eyes.

“Master, as you know, I’m almost going to be married to you, but I have yet to know your name,” Ning Xuemo wanted to fish more information out of him.

Han Shanyue suddenly opened his eyes, a pair of deep blue eyes staring at Ning Xuemo.

Ning Xuemo got goosebumps from his intense gaze, “What’s wrong?”

“Is my name not Han Shanyue?”

“Isn’t Han Shanyue your pen name?”

“Pen name?” Han Shanyue was baffled.

“You are an arts expert, don’t artists usually have a pen name or an alias?”

Han Shanyue looked at her for a moment before lying back down and closing his eyes. “You think too much.”

Han Shanyue was indeed not his real name, but since then, nobody had called his name for a long time, so long that he had almost forgotten it too.

And he did not need to tell this young lady his true name for… he would not be involved with her for too long.

Ning Xuemo refused to believe that that was his real name and she sensed that his real name would be of  greater significance.

The name Han Shanyue was a nice name for an artist but, for an expert like himself, it felt ill-fitting.

Let it be, if he did not want to speak about it, then she should not probe any further. Moreover, she did not want to get involved with him either.

Especially when this person was an extremely dangerous figure! The best way to deal with this situation would be keeping a safe distance away from him.

She was then reminded of the red clothed assailant. That scoundrel was thrown into the river but unfortunately, he survived.

Anyhow, it was still strange. That bastard had obviously escaped death, and with his vengeful personality, how would he let her off so easily? He had not sought her out since then.

Even if he were to swear to never kill her, revenge would still be taken against her, but why did he not do so?

What if he was injured at that time? And hence, he took the time off to recuperate, thus he did not come looking for her.

Or maybe he could have something important to do and hence he let her off the hook?

Or could it be that…

Ning Xuemo raised her head and took a glance at Han Shanyue and was still puzzled.

Or was it because of this person, who was at her side protecting her at all times, and hence there was no opportunity to attack?

Chapter 436 : I Didn’t See Anything!

“What are you thinking again?” Han Shanyue felt that this young lady in front of him loved to be lost in her thoughts.

“Oh, I’m thinking of the assailant in red…” Ning Xuemo, who was still caught up in her thoughts, replied briefly.

She was sitting opposite him but right after replying, her body was thrown forward. As she was not prepared for the sudden thrust, she went straight into his embrace! Her nose knocked against his chest, and the excruciating pain came afterwards…

“Hey, you…” Ning Xuemo was hopping mad as she covered her nose.

Then her wrist was suddenly seized, and she was not able to get up, so she remained lying on his body. She raised her head up and reprimanded, “What are you doing….”

At this moment, both of their bodies were pasted extremely close together, and when Ning Xuemo tried to lift her head up, her tiny lips brushed past his. Panicking, she frantically leaned backwards to steer clear of his face as far as possible.

However, this particular position was exceptionally intimate. They were so close to each other that they can hear the other’s breath. In addition, his distinct fragrance still lingered in Ning Xuemo’s nose making her heart flutter violently.

His eyes were as blue as the vast blue ocean, and when their eyes met, Ning Xuemo felt as if she drowned in his intense gaze; she could not look elsewhere.

“Master…” Little qilin must have heard the commotion as it barged into the carriage.

And upon witnessing that intimate scene, it immediately covered one of its eyes with its claw and claimed, “I saw nothing…” before quickly stumbling its way out, not forgetting to close the carriage door.

Even though this carriage was made to be soundproof, it was not fully resistant to noise as a huge commotion like this could still be heard by those highly skilled martial artists.

Ji Yunhuang who was at the back leading the civil and military officials, saw the little qilin rushing in and immediately out of the carriage. Moreover, its reaction was implied to have seen something that was not suitable for children. This made Ji Yunhuang tighten his grip on the reins so firmly that his fingers paled.

All the other officials were keen individuals as they looked at each other’s eyes and knew exactly what was going on in each other’s minds.

Hehe, it seems like this heavenly master Han Shanyue was not exactly refraining from all women. He sure could not wait to claim this young lady his, so much that he would not let her off on the carriage…

In the carriage, Ning Xuemo was utterly embarrassed and at a complete loss with the little qilin barging into the carriage.

Han Shanyue then released his grip, so she stood up immediately and retreated a few steps back. Leaning her back to the carriage, she stared at him. “Master, what is the meaning of this?”

“You are my concubine. Don’t you dare think of other men!”

Darn it, when did she ever think of other men?

Just when Ning Xuemo wanted to retort, she thought of something suddenly. She looked at him surprised, “Could it be that you are jealous?”

Han Shanyue was speechless.

He then closed his eyes again. “If thinking this way would make you feel better, you can put it that way.”

Ning Xuemo decided to ignore him and didn’t look at his face again. So, she might as well open the windows of the carriage and admire the scenery outside.

The sidewalks were already washed with clean water maintained by the officers and the men near the sides of the pathway, attracting crowds who wanted to watch. Everybody was filled with envy for Ning Xuemo who was able to sit in that exquisite carriage…

Subsequently, when Ning Xuemo turned to look at the back of the entourage, her eyes met Ji Yunhuang’s.

Ji Yunhuang looked away immediately. He did not have a good expression with the corners of his lips pointing down.

Ning Xuemo let out a silent sigh, as she felt that no matter what, she was destined to disappoint Ji Yunhuang and betray their friendship.

The carriage had finally arrived at the heavenly master’s residence.

Ning Xuemo was thoroughly impressed with the royal family’s influence as they managed to build a mansion within a short period of time of about two weeks.

Chapter 437 : Not An Ordinary Prick

Ning Xuemo had heard before that this place was once an Imperial garden. Han Shanyue had personally selected this place, and it was changed to match his style preferences.

Ning Xuemo did not know what this place looked like before, but looking at the Heavenly Teacher Residence now, four words came to mind – beautiful, secluded, and historically elegant.

Especially the three words “Heavenly Teacher Residence” which were simple and unadorned.

Ning Xuemo could not help but look at Han Shanyue. Wasn’t this guy a painter? Painters were usually talented in calligraphy as well. Why did he not write his own residence’s name in calligraphy?

Han Shanyue and Ning Xuemo entered the Heavenly Teacher Residence. The others waited respectfully outside the doors.

Ning Xuemo felt that this Master Han was not an ordinary prick. It was only taking a bath and changing clothes. He could do it in Jingyuan Manor. Why did he have to come to the Heavenly Teacher Residence?

True, his Heavenly Teacher Residence was more than double the size of Jingyuan Manor and the elegant architecture of the residence was more fitting for someone of his standing. There was even a hot spring…

Wait a minute… Weren’t hot springs very rare in the Vast Sky Empire? Only the Crown Prince Residence had one. How come there was another one here?

And this one was bigger than the one in the Crown Prince Residence!

The Crown Prince’s one was like a big bathtub, but this was was like a small pool. It was even in the shape of a hulu gourd.

Once Ning Xuemo saw the hot spring, Han Shanyue had already finished bathing and was dressed in a new robe.

His robe and other regular Daoist priest robes were different. It was as white as silver, without any embroidery. The sleeves were big and the bottom of the robe dragged on the floor. There were no fancy designs on the lapels and the only adornment was a piece of obsidian embedded in the collar. It fastened his collar tightly, giving others a feeling of self-restraint.

His body was tall and elegant and his black hair leisurely fell over his shoulders. As he walked, strands would billow behind him.

Maple trees were on both sides of the hot spring. Since it was autumn, the leaves were like fire. When the wind blew, the fiery leaves fell and danced along in the air and on the ground, as if they were following his footsteps. However, not a single leaf touched his body, as if they were scared of tarnishing his purity…

Ning Xuemo could not help but hold her breath.

No wonder why people from the ancient times made a phrase called “capable of causing the downfall of a city.” This person really had that capability!

It made her, a girl who did not like pretty boys, have a pounding heartbeat when she saw him!

He sat down on a nearby jade stool and gestured towards her. “Come over here.”

His posture was leisurely, yet had a hint of demonic charm. Ning Xuemo looked at him but still obediently went over. “For what?”

“Aren’t you here to come this Master’s hair?” Han Shanyue produced a simple wooden comb from out of nowhere and gave it to her. “Let this Master see your talents.”

Ning Xuemo was a little troubled. She had never combed anyone else’s hair before.

And her personality was very lazy and did not like trouble. In her past life, her hair was cut short.

If there was some sort of event, her maids would help her make some sort of hairstyle.

In this time period, she had only learned two or three different hairstyles, and they were all suitable for only those who lived in the wild.

She could not even manage her own hair. Now, letting her do the hair of the great Heavenly Teacher Han Shanyue, was a little nerve-racking.

“Teacher, it’s better for you to comb it. I can’t do it well.” Ning Xuemo did not take the comb.

Han Shanyue looked at her. “No need to be modest. A topknot is fine.”
