Chapter 6 – Young Master Du's Man

"Shi Lai, hang up on the emergency department, then hang up on the Director of Internal Medicine. Do the admission registration." Du Ziyu stood at the registration window and indifferently handed his identity card. The two calls were very quickly hung up.

"Why don't you use your own identity card to register that Three-No's Product?" Shi Lai grumbled unhappily.

"No, you two look alike." Du Ziyu returned the identity card to Shi Lai; his onion-white hands sharply contrasted Shi Lai's wheat coloured claws. Shi Lai crumpled his lips, still being very unhappy: "Say that guy did it and this tanned beauty won't be finished……"

"You have medical insurance." Du Ziyu hooked the corner of his mouth, playfully winking at Shi Lai.

"Roll!" Shi Lai roared and rolled his eyes.

"Three No's Product" back injury was not serious but he had many tiny wounds. It took the doctor half an hour to pick out the shards of glass. Du Ziyu stood aside and watched. The man's originally bright jade-like back was now full of blood red cuts. It was very uncomfortable to look at. When the doctor began to wrap the gauze, Du Ziyu frowned and walked out of the room. He stood by the window of the corridor and lit a cigarette.

"Hey! Bro, you're striking iron! We've been at the hospital all day. Want to go out for dinner?" Shi Lai rubbed his belly while walking over; he reached out his hand: "Give me a smoke!"

"You go. I'm too lazy to move. Bring back whatever for me." Du Ziyu was absent-minded. The examining room suddenly called for the patient's family to complete the admission process. He pinched his cigarette and waved Shi Lai away.

"Hey, your name, will you say it?" Du Ziyu pushed a wheelchair to the inpatient department, and lowered his eyes to look at the top of the man's black hair. One, two, three, three hair whorls.

"I can't continue calling you "hey hey hey", right?"

"You lump of stone!" Du Ziyu humphed as they arrived to the inpatient room. He pulled up "Three No's Product" and the latter reached for the pendant around his neck. Du Ziyu was stunned: "Don't touch!" He hit the back of the man's hand. It seemed like the corner of the man's lips had risen a little, and he spoke in a low voice: "Stone……."

"You like……this name?" Du Ziyu sometimes couldn't understand how he could be so patient with this fool.

"Like?" The man lowered his hand and gently stroked the Pixiu while quietly contemplating the meaning of the word. After a moment, it seemed like he understood and he nodded his head.

"You like this Pixiu?" Du Ziyu pulled at the rope of the pendant.

"Like."

"What about me?"

The man suddenly raised his head. With watery eyes, he looked at Du Ziyu, as if he were carefully considering the question. Du Ziyu's eyes flickered as they drifted around, from the man's eyes to the tip of his nose, and from the tip of his nose to his sideburns. He opened his mouth; his throat felt a bit dry: "In the hotel, when you found me, was it for money? After you stole from me, you should've ran, but why did you come back to me? Just now, when you threw caution to the wind and held onto me, what did it mean?"

"Like."

There seemed to be shimmering lights within the man's pitch-black eyes, but his focus had always been dead set on Du Ziyu's face. He tightly held onto the ink jade Pixiu and said the word without hesitation. Du Ziyu thought his voice was very sexy, and he wasn't sure if it was because the man's voice was low and attractive, or if it was that he was getting the wrong impression from the meaning of the word.

"So you like me?" Du Ziyu laughed. With a fluid rippling glance, he looked at the man in front of him. He felt an intoxicating smell blowing towards his face: "Then I'll raise you well, okay?"

Du Ziyu wasn't joking.

The man's indescribable smell, his appearance to his figure, and even his body, all fit his tastes perfectly. And moreover, this man liked him. He didn't know why, just then, the man had protected him, but Du Ziyu was somewhat moved.

In this case, the man had no identity, no money, and nowhere to go….He simply left him, what couldn't he do?

Du Ziyu laughed as he recalled Shi Lai making fun of his internet slang.

En, it's simply that saying, "Rich, Capricious."1

Removing stones from the stomach is not a complicated or difficult operation. However, in order to ensure safety, it was necessary to take another x-ray to confirm the location of the foreign bodies. After seeing the image, Du Ziyu was dumbfounded.

The thumb ring and earring were gone.

Not only from the stomach, but also the intestines.

Not even three hours had passed by between the two x-rays. During this time, the man had not gone to the washroom. It couldn't be that the two items were digested by him?

"Generally speaking, jade cannot be digested by the human body. This is the first time we've encountered such a situation. We think it'll be safer if you do another full body check." The doctor also thought the patient was a bit troublesome. He repeatedly compared the x-ray images. Finally, he gave some conservative suggestions.

"Then just check."

The doctor began to initiate the task. Shi Lai held on to his phone and tapped at it nonstop. Du Ziyu glanced at it and saw that he had the Baidu homepage open with a line in the search box: Accidentally swallowed jade thumb ring; went to the hospital and found out it was digested! What to do??? Urgent!!!!

Du Ziyu helplessly took out his cellphone, opened Taobao and entered a line in the search box: Red-Veins Flowing-Flower-White2 Blood Jade Thumb Ring.

The results of the full body check did not come out until the next night. The man's body wasn't too normal.

"Are you sure that the patient really ate the jade?" The doctor was making it difficult: "This situation is really rare…….I'm afraid we'll have to consult an expert and examine his digestive system."

"Maybe it was accidentally pulled out…." Shi Lai held his chin and looked at the x-ray on the wall: "Young Master Du, why don't you try checking his poop?"

Du Ziyu immediately flew daggers with his eyes at Shi Lai, then he turned towards the doctor to ask: "In other words, his body doesn't have any problems at present. It's just that his digestive system may be different from normal people?"

"Eh, you could say it like that."

"If we continue to examine, does it mean it's a difficult disease? We might have to continue doing this for half a day. The patient will suffer. That is, it'll give you some clinical experience?"

"This patient's family member, I don't think you should be so pessimistic. There is hope for a cure."

"Cure or no cure……I think this man is healthy……The key thing is to find the things he ate?" Shi Lai interrupted.

The doctor was stunned. It was clear that the patient's family was unreliable.

"Du Ziyu was silent. He looked back and forth between the two x-ray images. The two black shadows under his eyes disappeared. After a long time, Du Ziyu looked at the doctor again: "Then we will be discharging."

"Eh? Why do we need to discharge…..We haven't recovered your family heirloom?" Shi Lai watched as Du Ziyu simply walked away after he finished speaking. He quickly jumped to his feet and chased after him.

"What do you want me to do?" Du Ziyu walked faster and faster towards the inpatient room.

It can't be that they really have to cut open his stomach?

"Can't we go ahead and check? You have to believe in science…Maybe the jade moved in his body? Maybe his kidney, liver, or spleen became stone?"

"Shi Lai," he was able to see the room door. Du Ziyu stopped abruptly and turned around to look at Shi Lai: "I thank you for being so careful, but I was the one who lost this thing. Stop looking."

He didn't know if the man in the room was a swindler and he didn't know if he was just fooling him. This thing was either in his stomach or it wasn't. But he understood that it wasn't comfortable to stick a thick finger-sized tube into your stomach and taking endless x-rays was carcinogenic. After rounds of checkups, the man in the room didn't even speak half a word, and even saved his life. He felt empathetic. Du Ziyu thought this was not the case (the man being a swindler). At the very least, he could go about this slowly. Where there are green hills, there will be firewood!3

Moreover, he was not completely unconvinced that this man could digest jade - after all, he had experienced the feeling of seeing through stone.

"You don't need it? Shit, that's your Du Family treasure! Won't Grandfather Du kill you if he finds out?" Shi Lai seemed more anxious than the person involved. He jumped as he spoke. Du Ziyu was amused by him; he reached out and patted him: "Don't be mistaken. I'm the Du Family treasure."

Du Ziyu pushed the door into the inpatient room. The man dressed completely in hospital clothes was holding a Chinese dictionary in his hands. He looked up as he heard movement and spoke in standard Mandarin: "Du Ziyu."

"En." Du Ziyu thought it was funny. The man seemed to be a natural at languages. He had stayed in the hospital for three days, flipped through the Chinese dictionary, watched TV, and could already speak simple phrases. Especially those three words "Du Ziyu", he said them extremely accurately.

"Get ready, get ready, we're discharging." Du Ziyu stepped forward and took the dictionary that was on his legs. The man's hair was somewhat longer and his bangs almost covered his eyes.

"The thumb ring?"

"Don't need it."

"Don't need it….Is that okay? The thumb ring is very important to you, right?"

"It is very important." Du Ziyu nodded. "Then tell me, the thumb ring was swallowed by you, correct?"

Four eyes met. The man nodded his head firmly: "Yes."

"Then treat it as my gift to you." Du Ziyu's face was full of relief. He unexpectedly still had the heart to make jokes. "Okay, from now on, you are the Du Family heirloom."

Shi Lai stood by the door as he listened to this divine dialogue. He practically wanted to go out and buy a bag of dog food to eat.4 He could clearly see that Du Ziyu 80% liked this fool, and this fool was absolutely Du Ziyu's type - clean, easy to understand, straightforward, doesn't say much, and also….masterpiece body, masterpiece body, masterpiece body, face that rivals the heavens, face that rivals the heavens, face that rivals the heavens!

Shi Lai sighed. He didn't know how long it would last.

"You really aren't Chinese? Bullshit, isn't your Chinese progression too fast?" Shi Lai walked to the edge of the bed with a smile hanging on his face. He stared at the man on the bed with his body slanted, and murmured quietly: "Looks like there's no problems with his IQ. It's a mental problem…." He suddenly thought of something and rapidly straightened up and went next to Du Ziyu: "Where's he going to live when he's discharged? Do you need me to help find a room? I think this guy is pretty good. Do you want me to recommend our studio's models? We can split the money 50/50; I'll use my portion to pay for his rent and help him find a job. Your portion can go towards the cost of your thumb ring?"

Du Ziyu paused his hand movement and turned to look at Shi Lai, who winked at him: "How about it? How about it? Is this arrangement perfect?"

Du Ziyu hooked the corner of his mouth. He had already long thought of the man's discharge arrangements: "I appreciate your kindness, but he'll live with me."
