Zhang Zian didn’t reach out his hand for the handshake. Chen Taitong put down his hand slowly. The two men looked at each other quietly.
Chen Taitong’s staff kept glancing at them both as they were selling the pets. They had to pay close attention so they could leave if anything happened. Some staff members, who were planning to leave Stars Pet Chain Supermarket for good, looked at Zhang Zian. They thought Zhang looked quite young, so he might not be a good boss.
Chen Taitong’s smile cooled down. He didn’t think Zhang Zian would start a fight, although he was hoping Zhang would beat him up so he could call the police and put Zhang in jail. He wouldn’t be able to do anything in the pet industry after he got out of jail.
Snowy pointed the camera at Zhang Zian. Everyone knew he was going to take action otherwise he wouldn’t have walked over. Only spoken warnings might not work at this point.
"Mr. Chen, you will affect my business if you sell your pets here," Zhang Zian said peacefully, with confidence.
Chen Taitong scolded in his heart, Well, I didn’t say anything to you when you affected my business!
"Mr. Zhang, look…we are
just competing fairly."
As he spoke, they sold the first pet. A Husky puppy went home with its new owner.
"Zhang Zian, what is going on?" There came Sun Xiaomeng. Her appearance surprised Zhang Zian. She left in a rush, so she was still wearing her doctor’s uniform. She overheard conversations in the auto parts store about Zhang Zian being in trouble, so she ran over.
"Nothing. Don’t worry!" Zhang Zian waved, "Mr. Chen is leaving soon."
Chen Taitong was shock and laughed, "Who told you that I am leaving? We ordered lunch to deliver here. We aren’t going anywhere!"
Although he was being tough, he was nervous. Zhang Zian’s peaceful attitude made him nervous. He wasn’t sure what card Zhang would play.
Zhang Zian persuaded another time, "I am serious. Mr. Chen. Please leave. I don’t want to make it worse."
"How could you make it worse?" Chen Taitong patted on his chest, "Come on! Try me!"
"Okay. Don’t regret!" Zhang Zian pulled out his cell phone and started dialing.
Everyone was looking at him thinking that Zhang had to know some big potato. Now it was time to show off. Chen Taitong was nervous – does he have a strong background?
The phone was connected.
"Hello? Urban management office?
office? I want to report a case. Someone is selling stuff illegally on Zhonghua South Road. Please come handle it…What? My name? Well, don’t thank me. Call me a good person! What? Reporting can claim a prize? Oh… You can keep the prize."
He hung up.
Silence.
Sweat rolled down Chen Taitong’s forehead.
Zhang Zian looked at his watch, "A while back, an old farmer was selling bananas on a tricycle across from the road. He had a fight with the owner of the fruit store and was reported. The urban management officer took away all his stock, the tricycle and himself. I was not busy, so I watched the whole process. It took the urban management officer 11 minutes to arrive. You know, it is almost the end of year, so the urban management officers have to work hard to meet their goals so they can get their year-end bonus."
Chen Taitong’s face turned pale. He looked like a breathing dead person.
His lips moved. It seemed like he might say something.
"Boss, what did you say?" A worker was close to him so he asked.
"Go! Go! Go! Let’s go!" Chen yelled as hard as he could.
Everyone took the order!
"Don’t watch! We are closing!"
A second ago,
second ago, Chen was hoping to get more pedestrians. Now he started to send people away.
Some customers started complaining.
"What are you doing? Are you going to sell me this dog or not?"
"These people are crazy!"
Zhang Zian raised his voice, "Everyone, attention please. Their operation is illegal. That’s why the pets are cheap. If you are interested in pets, please come to my store."
In fact, not many people were interested in pets; however, it didn’t hurt to take a look.
What the f*ck! Chen Taitong almost hit the ceiling.
He wanted to beat Zhang Zian up!
He couldn’t because he had to move quickly back to his store. Otherwise, he would be in big trouble.
One worker was slow. Chen Taitong kicked his butt, literally! "Come on! Hurry up!"
Offended, the worker threw the cage on the ground, ran up to Zhang Zian, and asked, "Boss, I want to work for you. I have two years of experience working in a pet store. No training required."
What?! Raising the white flag? Chen Taitong and other staff members were all shocked!
Zhang Zian stopped him. "I don’t need a worker who throws the cages on the ground…"
The Poodle in the cage which was thrown on the ground was shaken too crazily,
shaken too crazily, so it kept barking.
The worker was embarrassed. He looked at both sides and returned to Chen Taitong, "Bo…Boss…I was drunk…Don’t fire me!"

The worker picked up the money and counted. It was more than what he deserved. He put it in his pocket and left.
Chen Taitong asked the rest of the staff, "Anyone else want to leave? If not, pick up the stuff. Quick! Otherwise we will all go to jail."
The staff hurried up.
The scene amazed Sun Xiaomeng. She said to Zhang Zian, "You always play the unexpected card!"
The audience started commenting as the scene ended.
"Mr. Manager was shameless!"
"Yeah! How could he call the urban management officers?!"
"The urban management army will arrive in 7 minutes! Crash them!"
