Chapter 186 - Returning to Linshui City
Qin Nan turned his head around and saw a young man wearing a surprised look.
The young man had a bulky physique as if a surging force was concealed within his body, giving him an intimidating look.
“Tenth-grade Huang ranked Martial Spirit, eighth-layer Xiantian Realm, Minor Success Stage of the Arcane Realm…” Qin Nan swiftly executed his Eyes of the Divine Battle Spirit, and thoroughly inspected the young man before him, resulting his heart to be gradually filled with astonishment.
This bulky young man’s Martial Spirit, talent, and strength were more powerful than Leng Feng’s.
Qin Nan withheld the doubts in his mind and brought his fists together, “I’m Qin Nan, may I ask who you are?”
“Hehe, you can call me Pang Kun,” Pang Kun let out a generous smile, and said, “My luck is on point today, to meet the famous Qin Nan here at the Hall of Fame. Brother Qin Nan, for your information, I’ve admired you for a long time…”
“I’m pretty sure my name is being cursed a lot now.”
Apart from a smile on Qin Nan’s face, his expression remained the same.
“Err…” Pang Kun was left speechless, not knowing what to say.
When Qin Nan took the initiative to surrender before the duel between him and Leng Feng took place, he did indeed look down on him, curse him, and assumed him to be a total coward who could not be responsible for his own words because he was scared of death.
Hence, he was taken by surprise now that Qin Nan had mentioned the topic about his name being cursed.
“Brother Qin Nan, are you here to find a quest?” Pang Kun instantly switched the topic.
Although Qin Nan had no idea what the stranger’s thoughts were, he had no intention of hiding the truth, as he said with a calm smile, “Senior Brother Pang Kun surely knows that not long ago, I borrowed pills from the entire Mystic Spirit Sect. I’m now here to acquire quests to pay my debts.”
“You are planning to pay your debts?”
At that instant, Pang Kun was stunned.
There was no doubt that he clearly knew about the incident of the Honourable Elder borrowing pills from everyone among the entire Mystic Spirit Sect on behalf of Qin Nan a while ago, as he too had received the letter from him.
Due to his admiration and curiosity, Pang Kun had lent Qin Nan two hundred Martial Emperor Pills.
When Pang Kun gave his Martial Emperor Pills away, he never expected Qin Nan to pay him back.
Not only Pang Kun, everyone that had loaned their pills to Qin Nan had no expectation of receiving their pills back.
Upon having this thought, Pang Kun immediately turned respectful and said, “Brother Qin Nan, I’m completely impressed with your decision. Since you are here to look for quests, I do have a suitable one for you, are you interested?”
“What kind of quest?”
Qin Nan’s eyes flickered.
Although Qin Nan was quite interested in the previous quest he saw, its description was way too bizarre, revealing a hint of danger.
“This quest was given by a senior brother who is ranked in the top ten among the inner disciples. It is relatively simple, you are only required to slay monsters. Killing a Foundation Marshal Beast will grant you ten thousand Xiantian Pills. Killing an Intermediate Marshal Beast will grant you fifty thousand Xiantian Pills. Killing an Advanced Martial beast will grant you one hundred thousand Xiantian Pills. Pang Kun let out a grin, “That being said, it only counts when the Beast Core is not destroyed when the beasts are slain.”
Qin Nan’s eyes glistened with passion.
A Foundation Marshal Beast possessed a strength equivalent to the first to third-layer Xiantian Realm. He could easily kill one with his current strength.
If he could earn ten thousand Xiantian Pills from killing a Foundation Marshal Beast, he would only need to kill six thousand Foundation Marshal Beasts to pay all his debts.
Qin Nan could also defeat an Intermediate Marshal Beast with ease, and in that case, he only needed to kill one thousand two hundred of them to pay all his debts.
“It won’t be a problem for me to kill Foundation Marshal Beasts or Intermediate Martial Beasts. Most importantly, through the process of slaying the beasts, I could also strengthen my skills and obtain more battle experience. Therefore, there is much to gain but nothing to lose from this quest…”
Qin Nan’s thoughts became clearer, but he was not in a rush to accept the quest, and asked hesitantly, “Senior Brother Pang Kun, it is indeed a great opportunity, but why would the inner disciple Senior Brother issue such a request?”
“I knew you were going to ask this.” Pang Kun’s face was filled with respect as he said, “This inner disciple Senior Brother’s position is even higher than Senior Brother Gong Yang’s. Rumors say that this Senior Brother is practicing a terrifying Martial Art which requires him to devour lots of Beast Cores to master it. Hence why he issued the quest, causing many outer disciples to hunt down beasts in a crazy fashion.”
“Devouring Beast Cores to practice his Martial Art?”
Qin Nan’s heart felt a thump, as he was filled with astonishment.
Although his name was made known to everyone among the top four sects, there still existed some inner disciples, real super geniuses with powerful strengths, who he could not underestimate.
As the saying went, “There is no limit in the universe… There are always those who are above you.”
Despite Qin Nan’s outstanding achievements, there was no reason to be full of himself.
“I see, I’ll accept this quest.” Qin Nan instantly made up his mind, and brought his fists together while saying in a sincere tone, “Thanks for telling me all this, Senior Brother.”
“It’s just a small thing, don’t mind it. After all, the people of the Jun Alliance have gone too far…”
Pang Kun uttered a smile half-consciously, a sharp contrast to his honest face.
Qin Nan’s eyes flickered with surprise, as he had not expected Pang Kun to have a conflict with the Jun Alliance.
This also cleared the doubt in Qin Nan’s mind, as it explained why Pang Kun approached him and introduced the quest to him.
The enemies of your enemies are your friends.
“It seems like this Jun Alliance is not conquering the entire Mystic Spirit Sect.” Qin Nan thought to himself, and continued to chat with Pang Kun, before excusing himself. He then proceeded to the elder in charge of the Hall of Fame and registered his information to accept the quest.
After accepting the quest, Qin Nan did not stay any longer and left silently, without attracting anyone’s attention.
“This quest is about hunting different types of beasts. Where should I go to begin my hunt?”
Qin Nan frowned as he was immersed in his thoughts.
He could only think of one place perfect for the quest—Autumn Mountain.
Autumn Mountain was crowded with beasts. There would surely be a great amount of Foundation Marshal Beasts and Intermediate Marshal Beasts, an ideal place for his hunt.
However, Qin Nan had no intention of heading to Autumn Mountain. Since he was now famous among the top four sects, there would be people spying on his whereabouts in secret. If he were to go to Autumn Mountain, the other sects would assume his trip to Autumn Mountain to be related to the secrets of the Martial Serendipity Pavilion.
It would surely bring lots of trouble to him.
“Oh right, I could head to the Longhu Mountain Range. There are lots of beasts in the Longhu Mountain Range, and I could take this chance to return to the clan to see how my father and the others are doing!”
Qin Nan’s eyes suddenly glistened as he came to a decision.
