The next day, I was already standing at the entrance to the Gordo Forest.
The objective is the same as yesterday, the Golden Rabbitsu’s, and also the subjugation of 5 Hobgoblins.
To be honest, with my current level, the only monster that can help increase my level is only this one, and the efficiency when compared with the other C-Rank or B-Rank monsters is extremely low.
If there were A-Ranked monsters such as Orc Kings or maybe even Gorotorisu, then the experience value would be worth it to increase my levels, but there is no way that they would be found this early.
(TL: “Early” here refers to the amount of time since the last spawn of such ranked monsters)
Now then, the objective for today is the Golden Rabbitsu, I hope I can subjugate another one. Yesterday, it took me quite a few hours to find one and take it down.
Well~, Minarisu-san did say that even killing one in a single day is already quite lucky.
So, i'll make sure not to keep my hopes up.
Now, it won’t help to keep thinking about that at the entrance of the Forest.
I should start the hunt right now.
“Alright, i'm going in.”
And then, I entered the Gordo Forest. I started walking for a few minutes when I heard,
There was something huge ruffling in the bushes nearby.
“Oi, did I find a Golden Rabbitsu already?”
Well, I don’t think it would that easy~. Expecting one so quickly will only make my hopes go down trying to find Golden Rabbitsu’s later on.
The monster in the bushes had golden fur, and also looked like a Rabbitsu.
In other words, it is obviously the Golden Rabbitsu that I am searching for.
“So quick……...”
I hurriedly used Sign Isolation, and took a breather.
This isn’t so bad. And so, I looked in the direction of the Golden Rabbitsu, it’s a good thing that it hasn’t notice me yet, it was still slowing munching on the grass in its mouth.
Alright, it’s time to level up! This is my chance!
After that, I succeeded in defeating the Golden Rabbitsu in the same manner as yesterday.
Fuu~, as expected of someone like me who possess the Sign Isolation skill, this monster is nothing but a sitting duck.
I placed the Golden Rabbitsu corpse into my Item Box.
“Well, how much has my level increased after that?”
When I confirmed my status, it had increased by 30 levels. Yes, it seems to be rising quite steadily thanks to the experience from this guy, this is just too delicious.
“Is it time to leave?”
Afterward, I continued walking into the forest where I was able to encounter dozens of Hobgoblins. I prioritized in making sure to take them all down bare handed. Right now, monster’s such as Hobgoblins don’t pose much of a threat to me anymore. I only have to use a little bit of force on their necks to send their heads flying.
To continue subjugating Hobgoblins, I continued walking further.
“N, this one is definitely called a High Orc, right?”
A single High Orc was moving around the forest in my sights.
If I remember correctly, the strength of this monster was between the range of an Orc and a Orc King. I guess it’s fine, it’s just slightly better than a Hobgoblin.
I head over in the direction of the High Orc and beckon it for a fight, but I don’t know if it understood me or not, but it still rushed toward me in full rage.
And when it came close enough, the High Orc raised its fist.
He apparently wishes to destroy my beautiful face, but it was way too slow. By the time his fist landed, he would have died several times over.
However, this time, I intended to gauge his attacks, so I let him tire himself out.
Finally, when the High Orc’s fist almost connected, I bounced it away using my own. When he retaliated by throwing a fist to my face, I moved my face away slightly to avoid the attack, and then grabbed that outstretched arm.
“TAKE THIS!!”
I then struck him down to the ground by hoisting the High Orc’s shoulders.
Hmm, is this the result of my high level in barehanded Martial arts techniques? He still had a dazed look on his face, but his fate has already been decided.
I struck the High Orc on his shoulders which broke his spine. With his spine broken, he fell limply down, dead.
“Yup, this is kinda gross now.”
Forget it, for the time being, I put the High Orc’s corpse into my Item Box
“Now then, shall I resume my search?”
And then, I started to look for the second Golden Rabbitsu.
Even after several hours of exploring the Gordo Forest while hunting Hobgoblins and High Orcs, I was still unable to find another Golden Rabbitsu.
When,
“Alright, I guess I should return quickly and get back by afternoon.”
Since I already achieved my objective of taking down a Golden Rabbitsu for the request and another request for taking down several of them. So, I suppose I should return home early. While thinking that, I headed toward the exit of the Forest.
After several minutes, I was able to leave the forest, then I proceeded to run toward Forxx where I was able to safely arrive in a few minutes.
I greeted the Gatekeeper as usual, and went through the gates.
Now then, it’s time to report the completed request. While thinking this, I arrived at the guild.
After which, I went inside and headed toward Meru-san’s counter.
“Hello, Meru-san, I am here to report my completed Requests.”
When I greeted Meru-san saying that, she was slightly surprised as usual.
“Ara, Yuma, it is quite rare that you have returned so early in the day. If it’s the Yuma that I know, then I thought you wouldn’t return until sunset.”
“Well~, since the request was completed quickly, I thought I would get home as quickly as possible.”
“I also think that’s a good habit to follow. Yuma, if you ever have some time to spare, then it’s best to take some time off and have a rest, taking a rest once in awhile is important as well.”
Eh, do I really look like such a workaholic……..
No, NO WAY! I just wish to have enough power to live in this world peacefully. Like the Great Invasion for instance, when there is no imminent crisis, it is better to become as strong as possible in that short amount of time. That’s the only reason why I am Fighting!
While I was thinking about such a thing,
“Then, Yuma-kun, could you please show me the subjugation proof for the Hobgoblin request?”
“Ah, yes, this is the one.”
And then, I took out the five headless corpses of the Hobgoblins from my Item Box.
“Yes, it has been confirmed. Then, here is a 1 Gold coin reward for the completion of the request.”
“Thank you very much, I will excuse myself now.”
And so, I was almost about to leave the guild, when Meru-san asked me to wait,
“Ah, please wait a moment, I completely forgot. There is a Nominated request for you, Yuma.”
Ho, someone actually sent a Nominated Request for me?
“I’m sorry, but who is it from?”
“It’s from a kid called Risa that said she knows you. Do you?”
“Risa, huh? Yeah, I do know her. So, is it fine to know the details of the Nominated Request?”
“Understood, wa~. I shall explain it to you.”
