Tyrone was sleeping. What was new? The reason why he had always failed was that… I wonder as from whom did he inherit his genes? Was he really the son of Aunt Rylie and Uncle Tyler?
“Tyrone James Dela Cruz! Green slip!” Ma’am Sunshine said. Uh-oh, he had received another green slip, another detention for sleeping again and again and again during class.
Snacks time! I immediately left the room. For sure, they would flock over the transferee, I didn’t want to be involved so it was better if I left.
Suddenly, my eyes caught Tyrone walking, he might be going to the Detention Office.
“Tyrone!” I called out, but he ignored me.
“Hoy, Tyrone James!” I shouted loudly that made everyone stop and shut their mouths. He was forced to halt, then he dragged me to a part where only few people passed by.
“Just please? Act like you don’t know me.”
“What is really your problem? Gosh. You, I saw how you looked at the girl earlier. She’s your type, no? Do you want me to acquaint you two?” I wiggled my eyebrows at him, however, Tyrone’s face only showed disgust.
I didn’t know what the matter was with Tyrone. I tried to be extra nice to him because his parents were so good to me plus, our parents were also friends, but I think I couldn’t take it anymore. He had been extra peevish to me, however, he wasn’t like that to others. How annoying! He still couldn’t forget what happened in the past, eh, I didn’t really mean that.
“Do you still love her?” I asked while lowering my head. Fine, I felt guilty.
He didn’t look at me. “What do you think?”
“How dramatic of you. If you want to pursue her again, all of it would still not be late. Look, I didn’t really mean to kiss you that time when she was about to say yes to you. I am not truly aware that some sl*ts had put alcohol in my drink.”
“That was a long time ago. I would only look stupid if I’d come back to her. It had been two years then I would just pursue her now? You’re really an idiot.”
This bastard. I was only helping him, yet he would call me an idiot?
“You will seem more pathetic if you’d forever be prideful and a dork. The problem with you was that you are too weak. Just leave it to me and go to detention. Study-study sometimes if you have time. Look at Uncle Justin[1] and—,” He left even before I could finish what I was saying.
Was Uncle Justin this peevish during high school?
By the way, I am Alzeah Marie Constantino, clever and shameless. Because I believe that even if you didn’t have talent, with shamelessness, you would be successful. Promise! But well, I still had talent and skills. Only a bestfriend was what I didn’t have. A long time ago, I had one, but I lost him because of an incident. Tsk.
