Chapter 153: Sharp Blade, Meeting Yuhe Again

The three split the energy crystals between themselves before they left the pit satisfied.

To Ling Jiu, the energy crystals no longer had any training value.

After all, they were just crystallized Gene Arcana, and Ling Jiu was no longer bothered with that.

However, even if he did not use them himself, he could still sell them. Each was worth at least 10,000 contribution points, and it would be another windfall if he sold them.

“Hahaha, we’ve struck the jackpot this time!”

Shi Gang was so excited that his snot came out of his nose. “These energy crystals are enough for me to train all the way to Level 6 or even level 7. Just think about that!”

“Shi Gang, it may be fine and dandy talking about this in front of me and Ling Jiu, but don’t mention it to anyone else. Otherwise, we’ll have trouble on our hands!”

Although Dylon was excited, he was also a sensible person. Knowing the importance of the energy crystals, he could not help but give Shi Gang a reminder.

“Don’t worry, I’m not stupid!”

After leaving the pit, the three parted ways. Ling Jiu found a hidden spot and could not wait to study the four items he had just obtained.

First was the Dark Psionic Crystal.

When Ling Jiu took it out, the arcane purple stone unexpectedly drilled into his brain.

Immediately after, he felt an icy sensation spread throughout his brain. Ling Jiu felt extremely comfortable as his mind became clear, and his brain was more active than ever.

“The Dark Psionic Crystal contains a huge amount of dark psionic energy. I won’t take in all of it in a short period of time, so I can only slowly absorb the energy over time.

“Once all of the energy inside this Dark Psionic Crystal is completely absorbed, my soul will be comparable to that of a Stellar Lifeform…

“A Stellar Lifeform!”

Ling Jiu took a deep breath and felt the coldness from his brain. He was full of expectations and wondering how it would feel like to have a soul comparable to that of a Stellar Lifeform.

A moment later, Ling Jiu took out the Venom Suit.

“This is an intermediate-level Venom Suit with a parameter increase of 100 times!

“As long as I wear it, my strength, speed, defense, and other attributes will be 100 stronger than before… This increase is really outrageous!”

Ling Jiu felt good. “With this Intermediate-level Venom Suit, I won’t need the low-level one any longer.”

Next was the war blade.

The war blade was even equipped with an automatic user recognition system. Once the master of the weapon was set, only the master could use the weapon. Plus, the war blade had the ability to change its shape, color, and the like.

Ling Jiu immediately changed the shape of the war blade, making it look like a normal war blade so that it would not easily attract the attention of others.

“The last one is the Gravity Bracelet.”

Ling Jiu put on the gravity bracelet and adjusted it to 10G.

Buzzzz…

A terrifying gravitational pressure came pressing down on him, and Ling Jiu froze for a moment.

Under the pressure of ten times the gravity, he felt extremely uncomfortable as every organ in his body seemed to be caught by something and dragged down.

His heart, intestines…

His kidney, liver, and gallbladder…

His spleen, lungs, and brain…

All of them felt extremely heavy, and even breathing became very difficult, as though a boulder was pressing on his chest.

There was one more thing that Ling Jiu noticed. His Gene Arcana consumption was significantly faster, and that was also why training became much more effective in a gravitational environment.

Under gravity, the body, organs, and cells would consume much more energy, including Gene Arcana as well. While the cells consumed Gene Arcana at a faster rate, the cells would evolve quicker.

“Let’s train under ten times the gravity then!”

Ling Jiu kept the gravity bracelet at 10G and set off with the war blade on his back. Now that he had gotten such good items, he naturally wanted to use them.

After all, better sooner than later!

Rustle… Rustle…

About ten minutes later, there was a slight noise coming from the forest, and Ling Jiu strode toward it with heavy steps.

He saw a monster that looked like a frog, and it was over 80 meters long with eight legs. It was wrapped in thick armor as it squatted in the grass.

“Let’s test it out on you!”

Ling Jiu blinked and quietly appeared next to the frog monster. He then used the war blade as he gently struck the frog monster’s neck.

“Vooosh!”

As if a kitchen knife cutting a radish, with a crack later, a hole ripped open on the hard armor on the frog monster’s neck as blood spurted out.

“What a sharp blade!”

Ling Jiu’s eyes gleamed.

By his intuition, the frog monster’s defense was comparable to a Class 7 Direbeast and could be said to be quite terrifying.

Yet, it was no different than radish and watermelons before this blade.

“With this war blade, I can definitely kill that Three-headed Frostfire Scaled Dragon!”

As he thought of it, Ling Jiu infused the Dark Matter into the war blade, causing it to grow in a frenzy and became a 40-meter-long sword in a blink of an eye.

Although he had cut open the frog monster’s neck earlier, it was still a behemoth more than 80 meters long. Its neck was at least thirty to forty meters wide, and a meter-long gash was naturally not going to cause much damage to it.

So, the frog monster was still very much alive and active and had launched its attack against Ling Jiu.

Its long tongue spewed out like a spring, intending to grab onto Ling Jiu and then swallow him whole.

“Ittouryoudan! Forty-meter super blade!”

Ling Jiu was totally not interested in taking a trip inside its belly, he suddenly reappeared in the sky above the frog monster and then swung the 40-meter war blade in a deadly downwards stroke.

Dush!

As the blade fell, the frog monster’s head was instantly separated from its body, the cut was so smooth and clean that no blood flowed out at all…

“This war blade is just too sharp. I sure can use it as a killer trump card!”

Ling Jiu was very satisfied with the power of the war blade. After putting away the frog monster corpse, he then left the place.

Under ten times the gravity, his travel speed was very slow. Forget jumping and scaling around like before, even walking itself was tiresome.

Fortunately… that did not affect his use of Gene Arcana.

As he advanced, he hunted.

In a blink of an eye, a week had passed, and Ling Jiu came before a valley, only to find a melee had broken out inside it.

All sorts of attacks flew about like artillery shells as large number of vegetation was blasted apart, ignited, sent flying. The entire valley was in disarray.

“That’s…”

At a glance, Ling Jiu saw 50 to 60 Arcanists were besieging a tortoise-like monster the size of a hill.

It was carrying a thick shell not unlike a tortoise, but beneath the shell was hundreds of octopus-like tentacles, each 100 meters long.

The monster’s body was hidden under the shell while its tentacles were whipping about like a Ironwhip Python. Amidst the cackling explosion, the tentacles easily deflected the flurry of attacks.

“A combination between a tortoise and an octopus is quite powerful.”

Ling Jiu muttered to himself, and then suddenly caught a glimpse of two figures in the sky. They were Ling’er and Ai Yuhe.

“Ling’er is here too?”

Ling Jiu raised his eyebrow and instantly blinked over.

“We can’t do anything to the monster even with so many of us!” Yang Ling’er frowned.

“This monster is slow, but its tentacles are stupidly fast. It’s really hard to deal with.” Ai Yuhe sighed. “If that asshole Ling Jiu was here, he would have a way to kill this monster!”

“I wonder where brother had gone to?”

“Ling’er!”

At this moment, a figure appeared in the air as Ling’er and Ai Yuhe looked over. They saw Ling Jiu standing not too far away, gazing at them with a smile.

“Brother!”

“Ling Jiu!”

The two girls’ eyes lit up as they rushed over. Ling’er hugged Ling Jiu’s arms while Ai Yuhe hesitated as her eyes reddened.

“Brother, where did you go?”

Ling’er complained. “You made Sister He angry, but you ran away instead. What were you thinking?”

” Yuhe, what happened before was my fault!” Ling Jiu looked at Ai Yuhe with a slight apologetic look on his face. “Let’s be friends from now on.”

Hearing Ling Jiu’s apology, Ai Yuhe could not longer suppress the grievances in her heart as tears burst out from her eyes.

However, when she looked up at Ling Jiu’s eyes again, she found that the tenderness in his eyes was long gone. It had been replacd with thousand-yard politeness and indifference.

Ai Yuhe stopped crying. She suddenly realized that the two could no longer go back to how it was before. Ling Jiu… had completely erased her from his heart…

Let’s be friends…

Friends…
