The hero was at least 1.85m tall with broad shoulders, a lean waist, and long legs. His cap, tight-fitting shirt, and pants were all in black, and his dashing physical appearance was completed with a pair of classic boots.
Quickly and easily, he laid the gangsters low with a single kick to each of them. With the cap, Ye Qiao could not see his face properly. However, there was, indeed, a resemblance in his figure and demeanor that reminded her of Lu Beixiao.
“Wow! He’s so handsome! That’s remarkable!”
“Could he be a policeman in plain clothes?”
The girls were all infatuated by the man in black. They forgot what fear was and watched as he fought off the gangsters.
“Who’s that guy? I haven’t seen him before around here!”
“He’s got moves!”
“Hey, who cares?”
Some of the gangsters did not plan to get involved at first, but the aggravation of the situation prompted them to join the fight. They tossed away their cigarettes and walked towards their common enemy.
Xiao Dong was right next to the man, but he could not see his face either as the cap had obstructed his view. Although Ye Qiao could not see his face, she already knew that it was him. Her heart began to throb in excitement.
The man was capable of fighting off so many men single-handedly. Who else could it be other than Lu Beixiao? He had told her that he would be leaving for another place, and that place turned out to be N City! Unbeknown to her, he made some effort to come and see her.
She was terribly excited to see him again. It was, indeed, a pleasant surprise. However, her excitement did not last long, and she soon became a little tremulous from anxiety. The gangsters, who had just got down from their motorbikes, did not seem like easy opponents. Would he and Xiao Dong be able to handle them?
These newcomers were quite contemptuous of Lu Beixiao. Swollen with arrogance, they only sent two macho men to fight, one for Lu Beixiao and the other for Xiao Dong.
His opponent came prepared with a chain and stick, but Lu Beixiaon was not worried at all. With one hand, he took seized a weapon from the man and twisted it around him. Swiftly, he then tied it around the man’s neck. “Tell them to come at me altogether! Don’t waste my time!” Then, he let go of his neck and kicked the man hard, thus sending him across the alley.
Lu Beixiao refused to delay his date any longer as it was already eight o’clock in the evening. He only had until 12 before he needed to report back to base. Speaking of which, he began wondering if Ye Qiao was able to recognize him. With just one quick glance, he was able to find the girl among the crowd.
Ye Qiao knew that he was looking at her and their eyes met for a brief moment. To her dismay, the rest of the gangsters decided to fight Lu Beixiao together.
“Lu Beixiao, be careful!”
Even with four opponents at once, Lu Beixiao still gained the upper hand. Another group of motorbikes came as backups to catch Qiao Tian.
“Qiao Tian!”
Qiao Tian was already injured, which made him an easy target. Hastily, Lu Beixiao leaped into the air and kicked the gangsters away. He then grasped Qiao Tian by his shoulder and pulled him behind him to better protect him.
There were several motorbikes by the road with their headlights on at full brightness, making the whole street look just as bright as daytime.
It seemed like the incident was not going to end anytime soon.
“Xiao!” Ye Qiao took a step forward and called his name out loud.
