Not far away from them, Grandpa Lu spotted the two of them kissing under a street lamp. Quickly, he blocked the old lady’s view with the fan in his hand.
“Oh! What are you doing, old man?! Can you let me walk in peace?!” The old lady said impatiently.
“I was killing a mosquito, there was one on your face!” Grandpa Lu explained in a deep voice.
“Where was the mosquito? How come I had no idea about it?!” The old lady said in annoyance. She had no idea that the old man was afraid that she would see her grandson and her future granddaughter-in-law kissing.
Just then, Ye Qiao heard grandma’s voice, and she quickly pushed Beixiao away.
“Grandpa and grandma are coming!” Ye Qiao whispered. She was not sure if they saw what happened just now, but she guessed that it was unlikely as they would have reacted differently if they did.
On the other hand, Beixiao did not seem to be aware of anything.
“Xiao, I will go back now! Give me a call before you leave! I will send you a message every day!” She whispered again as she stepped forward, wanting to take the paper bag from his hand.
“Little girl! How I wish I could marry you right now!” He gritted his teeth and said, as he did not want to give her the paper bag.
“Xiao! I will wait for you to come back and propose to me!” She replied as she saw the old couple coming closer to them.
“Grandpa, grandma, you are back from your walk!” Ye Qiao stepped forward and greeted them.
“Yeah, Qiao Qiao, have you found the books you wanted?” The old lady replied warmly.
“I found a lot of them!” Ye Qiao said. Then, she went back to Beixiao’s side and snatched the paper bag from him. “Grandpa, grandma, I will go back home first! Xiao, I will go home first… you… stay safe!”
She could not say anything too sweet in front of the old couple. Nevertheless, she could not help but take any glance at his handsome face before running back home after that.
“This Qiao Qiao has changed so much… even her personality has changed. She is so lovable now! She used to be so–” The old lady commented honestly as she thought about how Ye Qiao was back then. In fact, it was so bad that she did not even want to speak more about it!
