"Song Yan, why are you here?" Yang Yanli, his aunt-in-law, asked with a confused look.

Since they saw him here, he decided not to hide it from them. "Aunt, I'm here for the initial audition," he said in a calm voice.

"What? You play piano? I know nothing about that!" Her eyes widened, jaw slack.

He made an excuse. "Our music teacher once taught us piano in music class, and I was very interested in it. I've practiced playing piano in private all this time. I happened to know the piano competition, and signed up for it."

He turned to Song Xue and asked, "I guess you passed the audition, huh?"

His explanation sounded convincing, so Yan Yanli let it go. She couldn't help but give him a proud look when it came to her beloved daughter. "Of course! It's a piece of cake for my dearest Xue to pass the audition. I'm sure she will win the competition."

"Come on, Mom! Could you please be modest? There're so many people here." Song Xue cast her mother a warning glance.

Yang Yanli curled her lips with disapproval. "I was telling the truth. You've reached Professional Level 9. No one can hold a candle to you. Oh, by the way, this is?" She turned to Xia Xiang.

"This is Xia Xiang. I just met him. He also passed the audition," Song Yan introduced.

"Aunt, nice to meet you. This is my name card." Xia Xiang took out two name cards and handed to Yang Yanli and Song Xue respectively.

"Well, nice to meet you. You're a polite boy," Yang Yanli said as she took the name card over. Song Xue took the name card after hesitation, saying nothing.

Four of them went downstairs together. Song Xue, however, got close to Song Yan and asked in a light voice, "How did you know Feifei?"

Song Yan didn't expect her to ask that question. Xiang Feifei and Song Xue were best friends, but Xiang didn't tell her Song Yan once saved her. As a result, he decided not to tell Song Xue either. He just said, "I met her by chance."

Song Xue furrowed her brow. Apparently, she wasn't satisfied with his answer. "You'd better cut the wishful thinking. You come from two different worlds."

She used to mock him all the time, and he was used to it. "I think you misunderstand me. I have no wishful thinking towards Xiang Feifei."

"You better not." She nodded and continued, "I know you've kept a high profile recently. My father is at his vital moment. I'm warning you, do not stir up any trouble, otherwise, I won't let you get away with it."

"Got it," he answered gruffly, sighing. "She really dislikes me!" he thought.

"Oh, by the way, you'd better pay more attention to study. A monthly test doesn't prove anything," she continued in a cold tone, but he could tell that she cared about him a little.

"I will."

Yang Yanli didn't realize to ask whether Song Yan had passed the audition until they arrived at the school gate.

His positive answer shocked her as her jaw went slack. Song Xue, however, gave Song Yan a meaningful look. She was also a student of Shengye Middle School, so she had heard a lot of him in this month.

He used to keep a low profile in the school, but during this month, he had been totally different. He had been punished because of the fight with Xue Yuancheng; he had helped the policemen arrest two wanted men. Rumor had it that he had something with Xiang Feifei. Then, he got a full credit in Chinese test. He had saved Han Sha from a rich and powerful man. He started a fight with Yan Weimin, and the latter was exiled to the junior middle school at the same day.
