“How is it?” Ye Wangchuan especially learned to cook this dish from a chef at Imperial Mansion. He was a fast learner and had never doubted his ability. However, this time, he had some self-doubt.
Qiao Nian gave him a thumbs-up and praised him. “Delicious!”
“It’s that good?” Jiang Li was tempted. He picked up his chopsticks as well and tried the dish. However, the first mouthful was spicy enough to turn his face red. But that didn’t stop him from giving his compliments. “Master Wang, this is good. When did you have this up your sleeve?”
He took another bite and said with a full mouth, “Master Wang, are you considering switching things up and becoming a chef instead? Given your culinary skills, I think you’ll be able to make a good living.”
Ye Wangchuan couldn’t be bothered to deal with him. He pulled out a chair and sat across Qiao Nian, then scooped some soup for the girl who was happily eating. He placed the bowl of soup next to her.
His eyes were dark and deep as he asked, “What plans do you have for the afternoon?”
Qiao Nian didn’t like to be distracted while eating, but given that she was eating what he had prepared, she felt a need to respond. She looked up and said, “I think I’ll make a trip down to school.”
Chen Yuan had been bailed out, so she could take her time settling the scores with the Wei Family.
She had to return to school after her leave of absence.

She looked up once again and added, “I haven’t seen them in a while, so I’ll treat them later. I won’t be back for dinner.”
Ye Wangchuan had always encouraged her to interact more with her friends. After hearing her decision, he leaned back in his seat with no objections.
“Get Gu San to drive you after this. You’re too lazy to get a cab.”
Qiao Nian stuck her chopsticks in her rice and thought about whether she should stop by the hospital after this to visit Aunt Chen and the rest. She looked at those squinted eyes and said patronizingly, “Ah, we’ll see.”
She then added, “We’ll see when the time comes. I’ll let you know if I’m not getting a cab.”
“Yes.”
It was a hearty and happy meal.
Qiao Nian had her fill and also some soup, upon someone’s request. Having had enough, she looked at the time.
It was almost 3:30 in the afternoon.
First High School had long started their lessons for the day.
If she went now, she’d only make it for the last lesson.
Qiao Nian didn’t intend to delay any further. She got up and said to the rest of them in the house, “I’ll head to school first.”
With that, she went upstairs to grab her stuff.
Only after she left her seat did Jiang Li realize that he had forgotten something important—he’d forgotten to ask Qiao Nian what exactly she intended to do about Wei Qi!!!
Wei Qi’s matter wasn’t even settled yet.
