The Four Ancients Lands are a place of supreme power, each with a background as scary as the next.
However, even though they are recognized as the four strongest power in the entire Qing Shan Continent, they were not without their own rankings.
"It's the Ancient Dragon Sect, ranked first amongst the all four Ancient Lands!"
"T-That's Tian Long! They actually allowed a madman like him to participate in this event!"
The people were shocked and terrified at the same time upon learning the fact that Tian Long, Ancient Dragon Sect's most talented disciple and this generation's most talented individual, in general, showed up.
"Rumor has it that he has ruined many maidens in his life, even going as far as snatching married women in front of their husbands!"
"That bastard… if not for his talent and background, he would have been long dead!"
"Quiet, you idiots! What if they hear you?! Do you want to die a pointless death? And all those rumors are just rumors and was never proven to be true!"
The people below mumbled as their eyes glanced at the handsome young man with short silver hair every so often.
The atmosphere in the queue changed the moment the Ancient Dragon Sect appeared.
Despite their sky-high background and their countless achievements, the Ancient Dragon Sect was not a place with a positive reputation.
Even the people from the Divine Serpent Sect felt displeasure upon seeing their arrival, some even frowning.
"Oh? To think you'd show up to an event this early…" A middle-aged man with a sharp face from the Divine Serpent Sect said out loud, his voice echoing in every direction. "This is a first…"
"Greetings, Supreme Elder Lu. Our Young Master here said that he'd like to have some fun before the competition, so he decided to leave early…" said one of the Ancient Dragon Sect disciples.
Supreme Elder Lu frowned upon hearing such an information, clearly understanding the meaning behind it.
His gaze landed on the silver-haired young man within that group of people.
'Do not go too far… or you just might offend someone even you cannot afford to and summon a Heavenly Tribulation!' he spoke to Tian Long through the means of Divine Sense by sending his voice directly into Tian Long's mind.
Tian Long's expression did not change even after receiving Supreme Elder Lu's warning, as though it was only empty talk.
'Someone I cannot afford to offend?' he arrogantly snorted. 'There is no such person that exists under this Heaven! I will play with and break whoever I want and there is nothing you nor the Heavens can do about it!'
"Good! If that is what you want!" Supreme Elder Lu said out loud out of frustration. This Tian Long was really too arrogant. There are countless figures in this world that surpasses even his Sect Master, yet this little brat dares to say something like that.
And just as Supreme Elder Lu's voice rang out, two more groups of people wearing their respective sect robes appeared and closed in on them from the distance.
"The Heavenly Tiger Sect and the Azure Phoenix Sect have also arrived! All four Ancient Lands is gathered here now!"
"They have also bought out their Direct Disciples! Holy hell, do they plan on having them fight each other during this competition?!"
"Bai Feng from the Heavenly Tiger Sect and Mei Mingzhi from the Azure Phoenix Sect— eh? They brought Fairy Mei instead of Divine Grace Yu?"
The people were puzzled at Azure Phoenix Sect's decision to bring Mei Mingzhi who was only below Yu Bing into this competition whilst the other three Ancient Lands brought their most talented disciples.
Did something happen to Divine Grace Yu or were they just that confident?
No, there was no way it could be the latter. But to think something might have potentially happened to Divine Grace Yu, Qing Shan Continent's most beautiful maiden, it was unimaginable to the countless men there.
"Hm? What happened to Divine Grace Yu?" Tian Long suddenly opened his mouth to ask with a smile, clearly interested in her absence.
"Senior apprentice-sister Yu developed a cold and couldn't make it…" answered Mei Mengzhi with a poker face, causing Tian Long's smile to stiffen.
"A—A cold, you say?" Everybody there including the other three Ancient Lands was dumbfounded by her excuse.
She missed such an important competition because of a mere cold?
No, are cultivators even able to catch colds? Especially when she has such a profound cultivation base? Preposterous! Who would believe such an obvious fart?! Even idiots would not fall for that!
"Fairy Mei, I'd appreciate it if you were to tell me the truth. I am worried about Divine Grace Yu, after all." Tian Long continued to ask.
All of the Azure Phoenix Sect disciples frowned at his words, and they started cursing at him inwardly.
'Pei! I hope this shameless bastard gets struck by Heavenly Tribulation tonight!'
'You think we will let an animal like you defile Senior apprentice-sister Yu like you do to other girls?! Pei! Pei! Pei!'
They really hated him with passion, especially knowing that a few of their fellow disciples had fallen to his evil grasps before.
"Senior apprentice-sister Yu had developed a cold and would not make it for the competition, so the Sect asked me to take her place." Mei Mengzhi repeated the same excuse, her beautiful expression nonchalant at his stares.
Tian Long turned silent for a moment, his brows slightly furrowed.
"That's fine." He suddenly smiled. "I will just visit your Azure Phoenix Sect and see her myself after the competition."
Tian Long's words caused Mei Mengzhi to frown.
"You dare?!" she shouted.
"Why wouldn't I dare?" he laughed in reply.
The Azure Phoenix Sect disciples glared at Tian Long as if they wanted to swallow him whole. If it weren't for the fact that none of them was his match, and that he was surrounded by Ancient Dragon Sect's Supreme Elders, they would have long charged at him the intent to kill!
Mei Mengzhi gripped her hands into a fist, her gaze filled with anger.
Her senior apprentice-sister Yu has yet to return from her sect mission. If it weren't for that, why would their Sect send her as a replacement for such an important competition?
Tian Long laughed at her expression. "But before that, I will make sure to have some fun here in the Soaring Sun City before the competition."
However, the moment Tian Long finished his sentence, a ripple suddenly appeared and swept the place, spreading a voice that caused everybody who heard it to tremble in terror.
"I told myself that I would not intervene as long as nobody would purposely block my path, but it seems like that will no longer be the case."
The voice was muffled, not allowing a single soul there to differentiate the person's gender.
"The fact that Heaven has been allowing someone like you to still run around in this world harming the innocent has me dumbfounded."
"And because of Heaven's neglect, you believed that you'd be able to run free forever... How foolish..." the voice sighed.
The sky above the Soaring Sun City suddenly glowed golden, bewildering the people there.
"Since Heaven has failed to punish you for the evil deeds you have done, I shall do Heaven a favor and punish you in its stead…"
The same moment the voice ended, a tyrannical pressure slammed onto the unsuspecting Tian Long along with a few people surrounding him, sending them flying towards the ground at neck-breaking speed.
