Lianquan finds an inn to stay.
She lies on the bed fully dressed. She is silent with her eyes closed in the darkness.
Both bronze lamps on the head of the bed are not lighted. Her face is hidden in the darkness, her expression unclear.
The perfectly round moon sits high over the sea. The moonlight is scattered into broken silver across the surface of the ocean by the wind. A few fishing boats of varying sizes are parked in the waters a distance from the shore. A smatter of yellow lights can be seen on the fishing boats, rising and falling on the ocean’s surface.
An invisible ripple appears almost undetectably.
Lianquan opens her eyes in the darkness.
A light golden fog secretes from her body soundlessly before disappearing in the dark.
She does not move. In the dead silence of the dark, time ticks by slowly.
A ripple slightly stronger than the previous one appears in the air, feeling like circular wind.
“Looks like this time round……” Lianquan mutters, “A monster has arrived……”
The moonlight washes a silver-white on the main road in the city of Rennes. Various statues of mystical beasts stand at the sides of the road. Every few steps, there will be large flower pots of white marble filled with blooming flowers, decorating the occasional fountains along the way. These all symbolize the bustle and richness of Rennes.
At this very moment, there are no pedestrians in the empty night city. Only guards on patrol move slowly on the high walls surrounding the city.
Suddenly, tickering sounds appear sharply, sounding exceptionally gentle in the silence. The sound comes from outside the city. A few moments later, the tinkering comes again. It is obvious that the sound is gradually advancing towards Rennes.

“We don’t have to go to Fauser anymore, it’s already……” Yin Chen pauses and says no more.
Qi Ling nods in a daze behind Yin Chen. He lifts his head to look towards the direction of the village, everything is dark and there are no lights. When Yin Chen reached Fauser last night, he even thought thought that he had been too late. From the bazaar at the mouth of the village to the inn at the foot of the village were sharp icicles of various sizes. On some were corpses. Occasionally, there are frozen innards on the scattering of icicles. The whole town seems to be chewed to smithereens by the devil. He senses the remnants of the track taken by soul powers in the air and chases it all the way deep into the forest outside the town, and then he sees Qi Ling in deep sleep on the ground.
Yin Chen looks at the melancholic Qi Ling before him and moves over slowly, reaching out a hand.

Yin Chen’s fingertips latch onto Qi Ling’s scalp, a few strands of bitter cold energy pierces into Qi Ling’s body with lightning speed like a sharp needle.
The sudden coldness that went into Qi Ling’s head made his heart grip with fear.
Yet the one who is truly in fear is Yin Chen.
He initially only planned on attempting to inject a few strands of soul powers into Qi Ling’s body to test out Qi Ling’s physical reaction to soul powers and the construction of his body. However, when the sensory soul powers pierced into Qi Ling’s body, they disappeared immediately without a trace. However, as an average joe who has no idea of what a ‘disciple’ is and knows nothing about soul bending, the soul powers contained in Qi Ling’s body is like an ocean without an end overflowing with reckless large waves.
Yin Chen finally confirms that Qi Ling must be disciple that the Silver Priests tasked him to find. The Silver Priests were not joking with him.
