It was a sunny day, the slight breeze pleasant and sun warm. A girl rested against the large tree, her hair falling from her shoulders and spread itself across her chest like a waterfall. Her eyes were closed, a pleasant and amused smile on her face. It seemed that she was having a good dream. However, the smile soon faded into panic and anguish eventually dissolving back into acceptance and calm.

The tightly closed eyes opened, revealing a hazy dark brown. The brown so dark that it almost swallowed the pupils. They blinked once then twice, before clearing up and taking in its surroundings.

Sherry could feel the cool breeze brushing against her skin, the bright sun warming her body. The scent of the forest vivid and the air fresh. The sounds of life were all around her, animals shuffling about and the cries of insects. The solid dirt beneath Sherry was not her soft bed, nor was the expanse of green and wonderous heights the ceiling of her humble bedroom. She was not home, yet strangely enough, she was not panicked, as if she was expecting this, even though she had no clue as to how she had arrived in such a location.

Light footsteps approached Sherry's location. She looked up towards it, it was an utterly beautiful creature, enchanting, just like everything she has scene thus far in this unfamiliar place. The creature was big, perhaps as big as a golden retriever, or maybe that was not that big. It was just that, the creature that walked towards Sherry was something that greatly resembled that of a cat. It had the paws of a cat, the tail of a cat, the triangular ears of a cat, the face of a cat, the elegance of a cat, the lofty cuteness of a cat. It was a cat, yet everything else about it said otherwise. The deep blue hue of its coat, sharp fangs protruding from its mouth and two small horns growing at the base of its ears. It was not a cat, it was a feline, Sherry decided. [Is it too obvious that I'm a cat person? Haha]

"Come here." Sherry stretched out her arm and beckoned the feline towards her with a smile. Very obediently, the blue overgrown cat walked in her direction. It sniffed her hand, rubbing its big head against her palm. Sherry giggled and rubbed the kitty cat's head. She tapped on its small horns and rubbed it, feeling the sharp end and finding that it had been rounded off so wasn't sharp at all. It couldn't even scratch her skin, let alone pierce it.

"You're quite adorable, aren't you?" Sherry chuckled and pulled the feline into her embrace. It sat on her lap and let her rub its smooth fluffy fur, purring with pleasure. As if it had understood Sherry's compliment, the blue cat licked Sherry's cheek, it's sharp tongue slightly scratching her skin. Sherry giggled once more and pinched its cheeks, gazing into its eyes. It was a lovely deep blue, glistening like the night sky.

"Night, where are you?" A voice called out from the distance. It was low and hoarse, sounding like it had been calling out for quite a while. The voice sounded immature yet it was calm as if it had witnessed the rise and fall of countries. The voice got louder and louder and was accompanied by the sound of approaching footsteps and snapping twigs.

Sherry glance at the direction of the sounds. The voice was speaking in a language that was unknown to her, yet, somehow, instinctively she felt that it was looking for something, something here.

"Kyu~!" The feline in Sherry's lap cried out in response to the calling voice. It was not cat's meow but Sherry was surprised. After all, it was a feline, not a cat. To make a different sound wasn't surprising.

The rustling of the leaves echoed in the forest as branches were pushed apart about a white and muscular arm. Eventually, the owner of the voice revealed himself. A youth that looked like he had been blessed by Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty herself. He had a pair of large round eyes, blinking like a bunny. Those eyes, each a different colour seemed to carry stories of their own, telling tales of hardship, of life, and of happiness. The youth had a head full of golden hair, decorated by leaves that had somehow gotten tangled in as he manoeuvred through the forest. It was Dylan.

He blinked once, then twice and thrice. The usually composed Dylan couldn't help but to stare at the mysterious girl playing with the big feline called Night. Her smooth black hair that amplified the white of her skin and gentle and carefree smile as if she had not faced a single hardship in the world. She looked like a princess from a far-off country, a country that he couldn't imagine even if he tried.

Sherry stared into Dylan's eyes, also in a daze. The two had a stare off, gazing into each other's eyes, peering into their world and intersecting. It was unknown what they insight the two gained from this brief interaction, but they became amiable and trusting towards one another, even despite not having spoken a single word to each other.

"Ah, pardon me." Dylan apologised, being the first to snap out of the state of enlightenment(?). He placed his right hand over his left chest and bowed, showing respect of the highest degree. "My name is Dylan Von Kaiser, I have been entrusted to take care of Night over there. Thank you for finding him for me."

Sherry tilted her head, not understanding what he had said at all. But she found that his voice was extremely pleasant to listen to. If he had become a singer, she would definitely listen to his songs all day. Of course, this was just her own biased opinion. Dylan's voice, though pleasant, was really not as great as she described.

"Kyu~" Night cried out at Dylan, sounding like it was chiding him. Dylan nodding and looked at Sherry shocked. He had just spoken in Divian, the most commonly spoken language in the entire continent, everyone could speak it, so how could she not know of it?

"You really don't understand?" He asked again, not believing it.

Sherry remained blank and confused.

Dylan could only accept that she really couldn't understand. He pointed at himself, a slowly repeated his name over and over again. "Dylan. Dylan von Kaiser. You?" He pointed at Sherry and asked.

At such simple gestures, Sherry was able to quickly grasp what Dylan was trying to convey. She smiled, her dimples decorating her face. "Sherry, Sherry Chen."

And thus, an invisible spark that led to the explosion of crazy events was quietly lit. The heroes of this tale met and their fates intertwined, forever unable to be separated from one another. It was the start of a legend.
