It is I, Golem.

I traversed the forest without break. Occasionally, monsters broke off and attack me once and a while though I gently chased them away. Rather, it is getting difficult to adjust my strength as the deeper I went, the weaker they become. Perhaps I'm not the only one killing them around here?

Oh, there were also the living plants. Shame they're disgusting though.

Hm? I heard something suspicious from a distance. It somehow resembles animalistic growls. Now this'll be another encounter flag! I then ran towards where the sound was coming from.

What greeted me when I arrived was a fighting scene. I hid underneath the bushes and watched the situation unfold.

There are pig-like people waving various weapons around. They looked like Orcs in RPGs so let's temporarily call them Orcs then. The opponents they are facing are humans. Though currently, it was the greenskins who had the upper hand. The humans are outnumbered 8 to 5. There are also two dogs—or hounds in this case—who are fighting alongside the humans.

However, it was all a futile resistant as Orcs as physically stronger individually. Backed with their numbers, it's already a foregone conclusion. At the helm, a bigger Orc wearing armor which seems to be their leader is shouting commands and coordinated the group as a unit. The humans also put up a good fight but unfortunately they are steadily losing ground.

I considered helping the humans but I'd rather not jump into hasty conclusions so I refrained from taking action and observed patiently instead. Admittedly, I do not know the whole situation and there's no reason in supporting the humans to drive away the Orcs.

They're practically going at each other's throat. Every single one of them fought by their own will so I cannot easily taunt them from my side.

Midway, a decision forced the battle to change.

From the humans, they sent the two dogs and a man to act as a decoy and let the other four escape. As a spectator, I was baffled at their actions as they easily cast off another in order to save their own hides. Are they not comrade-in-arms? Is what I originally thought but it seems the leftover man was a mere slave. To them, a slave might as well be an easily discarded tool. It cannot disobey them so it faced the eight Orcs alone.

Haa~ the four really did ran away. What a cold-hearted bunch. It might be the best option they have in order to survive but I find distasteful to do so.

Ah, the man was flung off. But looking closer, his chest is still heaving up and down indicating he might still be alive. The two hounds by his side were visibly worried and approached the downed man barking anxiously.

「Gaugau!?」 (Goshujin1!? Are you alright!?)

「Gagagagau!」(Please hold on, goshujin!)

Their efforts proved futile as the enslaved man continued to lie down without showing any signs waking up. He must've lost consciousness.

「Gau! Gaggau!」(This cannot be! Now I'm mad! Ichiro!)

「Gau! Gaugauga!」(We only have to drive away the Orcs! On my mark, Jiro!)

Saying so, the two hounds blocked the enslaved guy behind them and valiantly faced the Orcs!

Ichiro! Jiro! You both are real men! I cle2nched my fists in silence, both commending their bravery. The two of them both knew victory is nil but even so, they still put their lives on the line for their owner! I thrust both my arms to the sky and accidentally stood up.

[Log: Due to the effects of 【The Enlightened One】, excitement is forcibly extinguished.]

Abruptly, the battle stilled as both the two hounds and the Orcs was surprised at my sudden appearance. Every pair of eyes landed at me. An Orc wearing armor quickly gained composure, however, and asked in a gruff voice.

「Who're you!?」

Well if you put it like that then I'll probably be obligated to answer.

『Golem is the name! I have found the hounds' passionate actions pleasing and commends their valiant efforts! In spite of their bravery, I ask you to overlook them in my name! And if not… let's settle this with me as your opponent then!』

Bang! I pushed my right fist forward and curled my left arm perpendicular to my waist striking a pose stating my intentions. As I finished my pose, the Orcs tensed slightly but other than that, they did nothing. Eh?

「Are you talking to me? Or you can't talk at all? Either way, you'll have to die as you've trespassed our territory!」

Oh, they couldn't understand me.

Haa~ I hope the day comes they'll hear me. Perhaps only those that reached bestfriends could? Such a thing…

[Log: Due to the effects of 【The Enlightened One】, grief is forcibly extinguished.]

While I am wallowing in my own despair, arrows suddenly rained down from above as the Orcish archers pointed their bows at me. The arrows certainly hit hard but with only this much, it couldn't hurt me. The melee fighters also stood ready as they brandished their ax, spears swords and attacked me. Come, come, attack me with all you have! At the midst of their barrage, I stood there defenseless and unflinching. Shing, cling, shink. In front of my sturdy metallic body, the only thing that broke was their weapons.

At this point, some of the Orcs gradually got frightened.

「What the hell!? We couldn't even put a scratch! You… What on the earth are you!? Stand back! Stand back, I say! You shall not hinder our plans!」

How troublesome. It is impossible to communicate with them. As such, I faced the hounds.

「Gau?」 (Wh-who are you?)

「Gagau!?」 (Wh-what do you want with us!?)

Seeing me suddenly approaching, the two hound became wary as their ears drooped and tails tucked up. They put up a good front but I knew their animalistic instincts are afraid of me.

Because of that, I end up turning my back to them and confronted the Orcs. From hereon, they'll be my opponents.

「You bastard want to protect them? So be it then. Do you think you can win against us!? You're severely outnumbered!」

I stood there thinking about the Orc's words. As their earlier attack had no effect against me, it is unlikely for them to take the offense. But they already encircled me. Though I'm impressed the armor-wearing one spoke so fluently despite his gruff voice. Now I'm curious if the humans can do the same. Or Orcs are just more intelligent than them? The other Orcs sound like thugs though…

Returning to the matter at hand, there is only one way to display the great disparity of my strength and the Orc’s.

I clenched my fist as hard as I can and slammed it straight at the ground. The ground shook and trembled as it opposed my tremendous might.

Bang!

A whirlwind formed and carried the dust up above the sky falling down dancing in an unseen rhythm. By my feet, a huge crater opened up where my fist struck. At the unbelievable sight, the Orcs’ eyes widened in comical proportions and the hounds tucked their tails in fear. Meanwhile, the slave continued to blissfully lie, ignorant of the situation.

Towards the Orcs, I let them witness my fists.

「…I-impossible! Y-you guys! Retreat!」

It seems they understood the difference, the armored Orc hastily instruct the bunch to withdraw. At least he was a competent commander, the Orcs dutifully followed his orders and retreated, obviously cautious because of me. They do not have to be that vigilant though, I’ll let them off this time. It was then their leader-the armor wearing guy-talked to me while glaring.

「I am the Orc General Press! Little Silver, I shall never forget this day! You won’t be so lucky next time. Mark my words!」

With those as his parting words, he left the scene and went off. Seeing as the Orcs finally left the clearing, the two hounds, Ichiro and Jiro faced the enslaved man. Until now, the man is still lying on the cold hard ground, unmoving. On his arm, a large gash was strewn and copious amounts of blood is flowing. Looking closer, it seems his radius and ulna was also broken.

「Ggau」 (H-hey)

「Gagau!」 (We didn’t lose like you said!)

Feeling pity for the hounds, I tried to gesture them that I can help the downed guy. But as expected, they couldn’t understand it. The two could only shake their heads in rejection.

「Gau?」 (What do you want?)

「Gaga」 (Don’t bother, Ichiro.)

Umu, its seems there’s no other way. I approached the guy and tried to think of a way to stop the bleeding. There’s no bandage available, no first aid and no antibacterial gauze. Instead, I ripped a part of the man’s rag and wrapped it on the gash sealing the wound and stopping blood loss. Still, countless bruises and cuts riddled the guy’s body. Not counting them, there are also large scratches.

A slave’s life sure is hard being a meat shield and all… Haa~ Troublesome, troublesome. He certainly is badly hurt so I put a hand on his forehead. My hands are cold. Not only that, my whole body is also cold. Well, my metallic body is generally cool.

With the cold feeling spreading into his body, the man’s breath gradually became steady and calm. Seeing my actions, the hounds slightly lowered their guards on me.

「Gaugau!」 (Goshujin, you’re saved!)

「Ga–gau」 (Oh, this silver guy sure is a nice one.)

Fufu, they finally realized. I’m a kind Golem. But then, I noticed the guy wore a bandana on his head. I instantly became excited as I had an idea why. Taking it off, what greeted me was a pair of drooping dog-like ears.

Ohh~ This guy’s a beastman! I didn’t expect I would meet my first beastman like this! I was hoping for cat ears though… Now that I think about it, he must’ve been chosen as a decoy specifically for this. What a pitiful guy.

It seems he won’t be waking up soon. Seeing him like this, I did not have the courage to leave the guy alone so I took the liberty to guard the surroundings. Later, I became bored so I taught the two hounds new tricks.

At first, I was sorely disappointed by their performance but when my intimidating appearance vanished, they gradually obeyed me.

Facing Ichiro, I spread my right hand upwards in front of him. Seeing it, Ichiro quickly placed his right foreleg atop. Your execution was perfect!

To Jiro, I spread my right hand downwards and dropped it to the ground. Jiro then corresponds and placed his head on the ground. Jiro sure learns quickly.

Sliding my hand further down, Jiro continued lying and crawled forward. Fufufu, this was the most difficult trick as it requires him to step forward. If he’ll master this trick then he’ll become a better scout!

Without realizing it, night arrived.

I decided to keep Goshujin as it is coz Master feels wrong in so many levels.

Iyaaaa~ taihen tasukatta~ internet problems, school problems, and a bunch of other things with problem as their suffix piled up on me so I am rather late at translating this. Personally, I am heavily inclined to continue translating and in no circumstance do I want to stop this. I can only hope for free time and free internet. That’s all, have a nice day~
