"Aren't you going to say something?" Asha asked me. I turned to look at her an asked.

"Am I supposed to say something?"

"Of course, you've been taking care of her son for the past four months. And she just thanked you for it, why are you silent?" Asha asked me again.

"I just don't know what to say to her, she's scares me." I replied.

"How about you're welcome?" Xaseah suggested from behind Asha, she was holding a bottle of blood, and from the redness of her lips, she's been drinking.

"Just so you know, my mother and I can still hear you. Loudly in fact, and stop making this weird." Teluna said to me, nestled comfortably in his mother's embrace.

"I'm not making the weird, it just hard for me to imagine you have a mother. It would mean you're actually normal." I said to him.

"Of course I have a mother, not everyone was grown from a plant like you." He retorted.

To be honest I deserved that, so I couldn't say anything back. Teluna's mother was beautiful, in fact compared to her I'm ashamed to say Asha and Xaseah would not be considered competition. And all this was taken in consideration to jarring scars crisscrossed allover her face.

One could see that she has gone through quite a lot, her presence here has been quite a shock to all of us, and most especially Aware. He's not been able to take his eyes off her for the entire moment she's been here, and I noticed, that she was avoiding his gaze. Seems to me that there's a story here.

But what really threw me for a loop were those lifeless eyes of hers. In the two hours we've known each other, I've only seen her smile once and cry for just under a minute and half when she held her son, and then everything became blank, empty. There was no emotion whatsoever on her face, it left me unsettled, afraid even since she was someone I couldn't read. But above all that look of hers reminded me of something, or I should say someone.

It reminded of the time when I first met Teluna, even with Nisi by his side, his eyes had the same blank, hopeless and lost look. This woman was broken without a doubt, she was a shell, and it would take a lot of effort to put her pieces back together again.

"Welcome to our tower, Mrs...….." I didn't know her name, so I dragged my comment out, hoping she would fill in the blanks. But it was Aware who did.

"Kuyait. Her name is Kuyait." He said.

To be honest I wasn't so surprised he knew her name, Aware was one of the mist resourceful people I know, and I'm sure he would have found out about a lot of things before he got here, after all with Nisi and Teluna suddenly appearing beside me at first, he would have probably investigated the story behind the two of them to make sure I was safe with them around. So him knowing her name was not that much of a surprise.

"Please let me serve you. I will do anything to be closer to my son, and to repay you for giving him a home and protecting him from harm."

She caught me of guard, her voice was deep and heavy, but it was not manly, but a deepness that you would consider sultry or sexy.

But it was so damn emotionless, I couldn't read anything from this woman. It was as if she had purged herself if everything related to feeling except one, and that was the love she had for her son. Others might not be able to see it, but I could, the way her fingers tightened around his shoulders, and how she kept on pulling his head to her chest.

The trembling in her hands when she ran them through his hair, as if she couldn't believe he was standing there, right in front of her, healthy, strong.....alive. But everything else was just a blank wall, to be honest it was not as if she was asking me to let her serve me, it was like an order with emotionless her voice was.

"Well that's...…..hmm… well you see.... The thing is that I, not that's wrong...…..well you....ummm"

I was a complete mess, I really had no idea how to answer this woman. It should have been a rather simple, 'yes you can work for me, welcome to the family', but Kuyait gave off a feeling, I don't know what it was yet, and I couldn't really explain it either.

It was not positive, neither was it negative, but it felt like both and none at the same time. It was really throwing me off my game, and I would have continued floundering about had Asare not taken the initiative to get down on his knees and bow to me with his head touching the ground.

"My lord, I can roughly understand the feeling you're having right now, and I can assure you it is not dangerous.....at least to her friends. But this woman would be an important asset, and the feeling you get from her stems from a secret of hers that she can only tell you is she so chooses. I've known Kuyait for half of my life, she taught me most of everything I know. I know I'm asking much, but if you can't trust her, then trust me. Please accept my teacher's oath of servitude and you would never regret it master."

Are my eyeball popping, they are aren't they. I seriously hope my jaws are still in place, but what the hell? I mean seriously? How did everything turn out so weird and complicated. Secrets, Asare bowing and begging, SHE'S HIS FUCKING TEACHER! My thoughts were running at a million miles a minute, and this feeling of discomfort I got from Kuyait increased by a factor of hundred.

Every cell in my body, and my mind was telling me to keep her at an arms length, but in this scenario, with Asare involved, I couldn't think with my mind or body, I had to approach this with my heart.

And I know my heart will never steer me wrong. I picked Asare up from the ground, and dusted his knees, even though there was no dirt on the polished wooden floor, I still did it more for effect than anything else(got to be dramatic about this, I'm about to say something cool).

"Asare if I should be technical since a vampire's turn is also known as he's or her rebirth. That would make you the person I've known the longest, and you are. I've known you since I was a child, you of all people don't have to bow to me, or beg me for anything. You're family, my family. You're like a creepy uncle who likes to give Vague comments and explanations, but you're still family. If you trust her that much, I'll let her serve me, even if you didn't ask, I was going to ignore that feeling anyway. After all she's Teluna's mother, they've been looking for each other ever since their separation. I'm going to be a father soon, so I understand what she's feeling. Don't worry, Kuyait is welcome into this tower, she's welcome into our coven, she's welcome into our pride, and she's welcome into our family."

Kuyait let go of Teluna and gave a deep bow to me. I felt weird, especially since Teluna did not seem to like the idea of his mother bowing to me, however I don't think he had that much of a choice.

Teluna was still growing up, so there were things he didn't understand, but even I knew, that soon enough, our relationship would change. I had an image to protect and keep now, Teluna and I can tease each other in public anymore. Kuyait looked me straight in the eye as she said.

"I'll try to serve to the best of my abilities, I pledge my life, my strength whatever is left of it to your cause, and I promise that till the end of my days, I will protect you and your family until dust covers the face of Shearath, and everything fades to oblivion."

Well that's a little dark, but an oath of servitude, is still an oath of servitude. I went and held her hands, completely ignoring the weird feeling I was having as I said to her.

"I accept your oath, and I return I promise to free you from whatever torment you're going through, I promise to protect you, and to make sure that there's light in your eyes again."

I gave her a warm smile, and she nodded in return. I was a little tired from the fight, so after a little nap I will take care of unsealing her. Then she turned to Asare and walked towards him, and then to the surprise of everyone, especially me she hugged him, really, really close. Then she spoke to him.

"Even after all this years you're still trying to protect me. You know it's the teacher's job to protect her students, you don't have to always swoop in like some knight in shining armor, you know it doesn't suit you."

"I don't care, you of all people know that. I'm not letting anything happen to you again, I'll be damned if I let the world hurt you again. I don't have to be a knight in shining armor for that, just a demonic dragon guarding his treasure. Come with me, I should probably get you an apartment to sleep in, the second floor should be ready. Come along Teluna." Asare said as he led Kuyait out of the room.

Teluna followed with his jaw hanging halfway down his chest, he was just shocked as we were. This was not just a reunion of mother and son, it a reunion of teacher and student that were quite close, much too close.

Any fool could see that Asare and Kuyait had history, of course we had no idea what it was at the moment which meant every action between those two, especially calm and cool headed Asare was quite baffling to everyone of us. However I'm sure their story will pop up eventually, I doubt they could hide it for long, we just had to wait until they were comfortable enough to do so.

"You should get some rest, in hours if not minutes this place would be swarmed by vampires. You need to get ready and for that you need to rest." Asha said to me.

"But isn't it weird that I'll be going to sleep while other vampires are waiting for me, it's rude is it not?" I asked her in surprise only for Xaseah to answer.

"You're the literal owner of the blue district, for all intent and purposes, you're it's king. They can wait, you don't have to please anyone but me and Asha, you just have to help them. But waiting a few hours won't kill them. Now go to sleep, we'll both be here when you wake up. I promise."

I want into my room and got on my bed, with the two most important people in my life beside me.

To be honest I didn't realize how tired I was until my back was touching the bed. It was really comfortable, of course it could be largely attributed to the fact that I had two incredibly gorgeous women on both sides of me. It felt nice, but before I fell into Morpheus's sweet embrace there was something I needed to check.
