I should probably stop screaming, but I couldn't help it. With the barrier down, my Vampiric healing factor came back in full force, and everything wrong with my body was setting itself back into place.
I could feel veins mend themselves but still devoid of blood, cracked bones sealed themselves up, tissues, ruptured organs each and every single one of them got back to their peak condition.
The pain that came with the healing was nothing to joke about, in fact to me it felt as if the healing was worse than when I got the injury, but at least it didn't last long.
I watched as Adein came down from where he was watching the fight, carrying with him a gilded briefcase. It looked really fancy with all of it's golden highlights.
When he got close enough, he opened the briefcase and faced it towards me, I prepared myself for any foul play, but in the end there was just a simple paper in the briefcase. I looked up at him, and then he nodded his head and pointed at it, before turning to show it to everyone present.
"This is a signed agreement from every race seated on the council of light. Whoever owns this piece of paper would now and forever be the owner, ruler, or even leader if you like, of the blue district. It also gives the holder permission for expansion, giving him or her power to subjugate and control all of the districts within the pit, of course he would have to fight for it. As agreed, the winner of this fight to the death, has received the right to own this.....well this land deed. But beware, if the owner of this deed is defeated by someone else, they loose everything they own, and whoever defeats him will gain the honor of owning everything he has won. But the only way to win this deed, is too kill it's owner. So in light of that, I present this deed to the noble Lord Kael of house Cor, congratulations on becoming the sole owner of the blue district. Guard it well"
As soon as he finished speaking he thrust the open briefcase towards my hand, and I grabbed the paper. I watched as my name was etched in cursive at the ender of a long printed agreement.
Then the it rolled itself up and flew up towards the blue district. I had no idea where it was going, but I'm sure it would be in a place where everyone would be able to see it. I turned to Adein who was about to leave but stopped then turned to me, speaking loud enough so that everyone could hear him.
"As agreed, I'll be taking every guard of mine out of the blue district, but as a result, every inhabitant of the blue district is banned from visiting the mine or even getting close to the hub, all rations of blood and other daily necessities will no longer be offered or provided. Travel to other districts is now restricted to twice a week, and you have to pay a fee of two refined cubes of orichalum, and you can't be out of the blue district longer than three hours, exceeding the time given is grounds for on the spot execution. Of course the movement ban is to be lifted during vampire festivals or any sort of vampiric occasion etc. But that's as far as it gets, you wanted to be free, well you got it, you're on your own. I'll take great pleasure in watching all of you starve, while you new leader tries to fight off attacks from the other vampires that covet his position. Good luck leeches."
It seems he was done talking, but there was no way I was going to let him have the last laugh. Adein had no idea what I was truly capable of, neither did he know that he had just dropped an army right into my palms.
Feeding them was not going to be problem, being cut off from the rest of the pit meant that the ban on the black district was no longer there, the people under me won't go hungry. Of course he was right about the fact that owning this deed has painted a huge target on my back.
The vampire race has been suffering for thousands if not hundreds of thousands of years, but they were not united, I could just as easily be murdered by Asha for a chance at this much power and the implications it holds.
Of course Asha wouldn't do a thing like that, but I really understood what was going on here. Though I don't know to what end, it was obvious that Adein was cultivating a civil war between the vampires. Even if the vampires of the blue district stood united, we're bound to expand to the other districts, if not for resources, but for total freedom from the oppression of the council of light, for a chance to leave this place and see what the world outside looks like. It would put us against our other brethren in the green and red districts.
The white districts had the lowest vampire population so it could not be counted yet, it would be a war between all the districts, especially since whoever kills me has a chance to rule all of the districts.
The council of light did not have to kill us, they've given us the chance to destroy ourselves, and they would not have to lift a finger. To what end, I was not really sure, but my future is bound to be bloody and really hectic from now onwards.
"Adein!"
I called out to him. My voice was softer than i would have ever imagined, but there was authority in it that I've never experienced with myself before. I walked towards him, and coated my hand in my soul energy, though I left it underneath my skin. Then I placed it on his shoulder, stopping him from taking another step with his back turned to me.
"Why are you insistent on underestimating me, whether it's pedigree, or wealth, or women, or even power. A bastard like you can not even compare to me. In six months, I'll have the blue district knocking down on the door of your guard tower, I'm going to kick out every dog of the council of light out of the pit, and I will turn this prison of ours into a kingdom of the night, a home for the vampires and whoever stands with them. And when I'm done here, I'm going to crawl out from whatever mound this fucking pit hides under, and then I'll march towards that fucking council and I'll give them a choice."
"And what choice is that?" Adein asked me with a sneer in his voice.
"Submit or be eaten!" I replied.
"Hahaha, wow, I would really love to see the day that happens." He said with a laugh.
"Whoever said you would be seeing any of that? Let me let you in on a little secret my sadistic bastard of a friend, before you see the next three months, I would have broken you both in mind and body. So please enjoy the [BREAK] while you can."
He scoffed at me, and moved away completely unharmed. As he walked away I dispersed the soul energy in my hand, and couldn't help the malevolent grin on my face. Who ever said only bones break, and whoever said things broke immediately.
My soul runes did not just encompass simple words or actions, there was a concept behind them, a law or a Dao. Bones were not the only thing that broke, even minds do too. And Adein's going to be breaking in both body, soul, and mind, and it's going to happen slowly, very, very slowly.
I walked down from the platform towards where Asha and Xaseah were waiting with my coat. I still had blood on me, but I don't think any of us cared as she and Xaseah hugged and held me close. This was my family, and it might not be the end, but at least I've made this life, this pit a little safer for my child. But since I've come this far, I would not be stopping anytime now.

I held on to Xaseah and Asha as we marched back home to our tower. I knew I was supposed to say a few things to the vampires, but I was mentally exhausted. If there was something to be said, I'll do it back at the tower, and not here where Adein's spies are sure to still be lurking about.
The missions given were seriously harder than the previous ones given, of course earth was right about the rewards being better than the last, even though I had no idea what some of them were.
But at this point I think I knew what I was heading towards, if the word kingdom building was not enough hint, maybe when I have a crown on my head it would settle in. Most of my memories were missing, but even I knew that there's not been a monarch in Shearath for thousands of years.
Each of the races had different modes of governance, but none of them was a monarchy. I could feel a head ache building at the back of my head, Earth's given me a massive job again. Well what else is new, I doubt anything surprising might pop up now.
