Chapter 52 – A meeting between enemies
Gao Yu Lan slept soundly through the night without even dreaming .
She was awakened by Yin Ze’s kiss .
While she was sleeping soundly, her sleep was disturbed and it made Gao Yu Lan very upset . She frowned and slapped whoever it was and muttered . “Don’t disturb…… . ”
“It’s already noon……do you still want to sleep?” Yin Ze’s voice was gentle and soft . Gao Yu Lan heartlessly answered with a grunt and continued to sleep .
After a while, she finally reacted . Suddenly she opened her eyes and realized……Oh God, this is not her house but a hotel!
“It’s already noon?!” She cried out in shock .
Yin Ze walked out of the bathroom and picked up his watch on the TV cabinet to show her . “It’s already twelve plus . ”
She looked carefully and then cried out miserably . She jumped up and danced around anxiously in circles . “What should I do?! What should I do?!”
“Stop! Stop!” Yin Ze pulled the quilt over and wrapped her with it . “Be careful not to catch a cold . ”
“I…… . I ran out last night without telling my parents . What should I do? It’s already so late, they are sure to be up by now . When they find out I’m not at home without telling them, they’ll certainly feel anxious . ”
Yin Ze handed his phone to her . “Give them a call, first . ”
“What should I tell them?”
“Think about it yourself . ” Yin Ze dragged a chair over and sat down opposite her .
She pursed her lips and felt dissatisfied . “Because of you, I didn’t return home last night . Now I am to be scolded, you’re not even helping to think of a solution . ”
Yin Ze shrugged . “There is a solution . Tell them you’ve found them a good son-in-law and will bring him home in a while to meet them . Once they feel happy, they won’t scold you . ”
He really has the nerve to say this!
She glared at him and after taking a few deep breaths she looked at Yin Ze again . Finally, she dialed her house phone number .
“Mom, it’s me……I’m sorry . No, no, I’m fine . It’s just that a friend had suddenly come to C-city and I was anxious to see him, so I didn’t tell you . Er… . . yes, I also forgot to bring along my phone……”
While she was talking on the phone, she sneaked looks at Yin Ze and saw him grinning . She blushed, she did not even change her clothes and slippers…… how could she still remember her phone?
Gao Yu Lan pacified her mother and also said that she would be returning home later while at the side, Yin Ze was looking at her with glittering eyes . She paused and then added that she would also be bringing her friend back . Only then did Yin Ze nodded at her with satisfaction .
After Gao Yu Lan hung up the phone, she suddenly pounced on Yin Ze . “You’re a rascal . You didn’t help me instead, you still laughed at me . ”
Yin Ze burst into laughter and carried her towards the bed . He wrapped her in the quilt, kissed her again and again, and then said . “Stay here by yourself for a while . Wash up and take a rest . You can watch TV while I’m out . ”
“Where are you going?”
“I’m going to the nearby boutique to buy you some clothes and shoes . You don’t intend to walk out of this hotel wearing your pajamas and cartoon slippers, do you?”

When she heard him, she repeatedly nodded . Yin Ze bent down to kiss her gently and then turned to leave . Gao Yu Lan called out behind him . “Do you know what size I wear?”
“What do you think?” Yin Ze turned his head around and winked at her with a sly smile . She blushed and said angrily to him . “Don’t talk nonsense and come back quickly!”
Yin Ze laughed and went out leaving Gao Yu Lan alone in the hotel room . She hugged the quilt and her thoughts wandered as she started to recall everything that had happened last night . Suddenly she felt a sense of unreality in her heart . She had actually done it…… . and she even told her mother she would be bringing her friend home .
Gao Yu Lan blushed, bit her lip, and had the urge to laugh . She had done it and now she also has a boyfriend to bring home .
Yin Ze came back faster than she expected . He did not only buy her a set of clothes and shoes, but he also bought her a new set of undergarments . Gao Yu Lan shyly went into the bathroom to change her clothes and while she was changing she could hear her stomach growling with hunger .
“I’m hungry . ” She came out to tell Yin Ze . At this time, Yin Ze was surfing the internet with his phone and when he heard her, he pulled her into his arms . “Did you tell your mother to prepare lunch for us?”
“No . She didn’t ask whether we would be home for lunch . ”
“Then you should give her another call and tell her we’ll only be back after we have had our lunch . ”
Gao Yu Lan did as told and then Yin Ze drove her to a restaurant . The restaurant was very big and upscale . The business was extremely good and it was approaching one o’clock but the restaurant was already packed full of people .
“How do you know about this place?” Gao Yu Lan felt strange .
Even she as a local, this is her first visit .
“I checked on the phone just now . I want to take you to eat something good . ” Yin Ze looked at her and smiled . He felt today no matter how long he looks at her, it was not enough and he had the urge to smile .
“Forget it . This is an occupational disease for you……wherever you go, you’ll look for the best restaurant . ” Gao Yu Lan exposed him . Yin Ze laughed aloud, pulled her into his arms, and kissed her cheek . “Miss, your opinions are aplenty . ”

The two people talked and laughed as they followed the waiter to a vacant table and sat down . As usual, Yin Ze looked through other people’s menus like studying the martial arts secret manual . She knew of his habit but she was very hungry and she was about to faint . So she ordered the two most popular homely dishes first to fill her tummy and said to the waiter . “That’s it for now . Quickly place the order and serve up the dishes as quickly as possible . Leave a menu with us to look through and we’ll call you when we want additional dishes . ”
After the waiter left, Yin Ze did not take his eyes off the menu but instead leaned his head towards Gao Yu Lan and lightly kissed her . He praised her . “Good wife . ”
Gao Yu Lan pinched him and leaned her head over to look at the menu in his hands . “The photos are so beautiful…… . What is this made of?…… . . This looks very delicious…… I’ve never seen this dish before…… . ” Miss Question’s comments and questions made Chef Yin’s study of the menu to drag longer . When the waiter served up the dishes Gao Yu Lan ordered, Yin Ze had still not finished studying the menu .
Gao Yu Lan was very hungry and she laid out the chopsticks ready for Yin Ze and urged him to quickly eat . Just as he said . “I’ll order a few more dishes . ” and his voice has yet to quiet down when he felt Gao Yu Lan who was sitting next to him stiffened . When he looked up, he saw a man and a woman had stopped a short distance away in front of them and they were looking towards their table .
Looking at their position, they should be leaving after finishing their meal and it was inevitable that they had to pass their table on the way out . Yin Ze turned to look at Gao Yu Lan and she whispered . “Zheng Tao and Qi Na . ”
“Oh . ” Yin Ze then nodded his head to indicate he understood and did not say anything else . By this time, Zheng Tao and Qi Na had walked up to their table .
“Such a coincidence, ah!” Qi Na put on a fake smile and said . “It’s been a long time we haven’t met, Yu Lan . ”
“It’s not long enough . ” Gao Yu Lan also put on a fake smile and replied . With Yin Ze sitting beside her, she felt particularly confident .
Zheng Tao’s expression was not good and Qi Na smiled again . She looked coldly at Gao Yu Lan and Yin Ze . The two people sitting at the same table to enjoy a meal were not sitting opposite each other but purposely sat close together and at a glance, anyone could see the relationship between them .
She glanced at Yin Ze again and asked Gao Yu Lan . “Is this your friend? Where does he work?”
Yin Ze smiled and said . “I’m a cook . ”
Qi Na’s eyes displayed her satisfaction and contempt . Before she could continue to say anything, Yin Ze asked in return . “This must be your husband, right? Where does he work?”

Qi Na lifted her chin slightly and said proudly . “He’s working in the Finance Bureau as Division Chief . ”

If you want to order more dishes, the restaurant next door is more suitable for you . ”
“She is so considerate of us and her control is so wide, oh . ” With a hand over his heart, Yin Ze had a touched expression on his face as he said to Gao Yu Lan .
On the side, Gao Yu Lan was eating her rice and the dishes, totally ignoring the cheap couple because she was not prepared to go hungry for them . Yin Ze had started his play-acting .
Cooperating with him, Gao Yua Lan ate a mouthful of food and said . “Ah, she also doesn’t find it tiring at all . ”
“Gao Yu Lan…… . ” Qi Na was feeling unhappy . “Aren’t you in a relationship with Guo Qiu Chen? Why is it that with a blink of an eye, you’ve changed to another? After so many years we haven’t met, you still haven’t changed one bit . ”

Yin Ze laughed, waved his hand to call for the waiter, and ordered all the dishes that he was interested in . Just as the waiter left, Qi Na doubled back on her high heeled shoes with her nose tilted up and said arrogantly to Gao Yu Lan .
“This Spring Festival all the old classmates will be coming back . This year there will be a gathering of old classmates, do you dare to come back?”
(Spring Festival is the Chinese New Year celebrated between the month of January and February every year according to the Chinese lunar calendar . It is also called the Spring Festival because it is the celebration for the arrival of Spring after the arduous months of winter . )
