Chapter 29 Mo Tai Was Shocked

XuanHuan 42

The appearance of the Phoenix in the Ninth Heaven was closely followed by the rise of the ambient temperature as well as the spread of scorching air.
"This..."looking at the vital spirit of Mo Ruxi, Mo Tai felt strongly a sense of thrill that literally deprived him of the ability to speak.
The Phoenix in the Ninth Heaven, the unparalleled vital spirit at the ninth level, was characterized by its undoubted powerfulness.
Still, Wo Ruxi was generally weak. Her cultivation ranked the first level of Vital Spirits, thanks to which the Phoenix only was a vision.
Given the same cultivation as that of Mo Tai, the momentum of her vital spirit alone would dominate Mo Tai.
That was the unparalleled vital spirit in the ninth level inspired awes and terrors.
Admittedly, Mo Ruxi was a Vital Spirits at the first level. But thanks to the dominating power of the Phoenix in the Ninth Heaven, she could match with a Vital Spirits at the third or even fourth level.
"Ruxi, what is the level for your vital spirit?" After a long while, Mo Tai calmed himself down and asked in a trembling voice.
"The ninth level, according to him."Mo Ruxi pointed at Nie Tian.
"The ni-i-i-th. Holy..." Mo Ruxi felt his heart was like beating a drum and he could no long stay calm.
Nie Tian rolled his eyes at Mo Tai, "Is it that a vital spirit at the ninth level is very powerful? It surely is for people like you whose vital spirit is at the fourth level."
That being said, Nie Tian knew it perfectly clear that the ninth level for a vital spirit meant a paramount one with dominating power. Still, he did not want to see Mo Ruxi overwhelmed by pride.
Judging from Mo Ruxi's reactions, she clearly had no idea for the vital spirit at the ninth level.
Then Mo Tai responded with astonishment as if having realized something, "Nie Tian, how could you tell that my vital spirit is at the fourth level?"
Nie Tian caught a quick glimpse at Mo Tai and said faintly, "Your vital spirit is a Monster Spirit at the fourth level, the Fiery Lion. And you are a Phenomenality at the third level. Correct me if I'm wrong."
With a vital spirit at the fourth level, one could be esteemed as a genius. But that could barely mean anything when compared with Mo Ruxi's vital spirit at the ninth level.
"But how do you know that?" Mo Ruxi put on a much more appalled face, looking mind-absent.
A Kung Fu learner would keep confidential his vital spirit and his cultivation. Generally, no one could know that unless he was really something.
It puzzled Mo Tai that Nie Tian could see through his vital spirit and cultivation with little effort.
"I do if i like." Nie Tian smiled gently, with his signature confidence.
Mo Tai felt the overwhelming confidence in Nie Tian and changed his face several times. He would like to say something, but ended up with silence.
Nie Tian, of course, knew what Nie Tian was thinking.
He must have been explaining to himself that Nie Tian had a rewarding adventure.
How could a loser family master regain his power and reputation, defeat a Vital Spirit at the fourth level when he was only a Vital Veins at the ninth level, exercise the deployments and awaken Mo Ruxi's vital spirit, and even see through the vital spirit and cultivation of someone who was apparently way better than him.
Mo Tai would never buy the story that Nie Tian had not experienced any adventure.
Still, Mo Tai was clever not to dig that adventure out of Nie Tian's mouth.
It was a smart choice, for there would be no answer but alertness following.
A Kung Fu learner would have his own secrets. Whatever the adventure of Nie Tian might be, it was nobody else's business but his.
Mo Ruxi seemed to be muddled and she could not detect a trace of change in the mental activities of Mo Tai and Nie Tian.
By accident, Nie Tian caught a glimpse of Mo Ruxi with an adorable look, only to burst into laughter.
Mo Ruxi usually acted like a Lady of Ice. But Nie Tian would agree that she was an innocent little girl based on his observations in the past day. She disguised herself in cold ices, as an effort to avoid harassment.
"Nie Tian, what's so funny?" Mo Ruxi put on an angry look at Nie Tian while curling her mouth.
"Nothing. I just feel that you are so gorgeous that I can't help smiling at every single sight of you." Nie Tian responded with a bright smile and firm eyes.
"That's fair." Girls enjoyed compliments and Mo Ruxi was not an exception. She raised her proud chins in the sweet words of Nie Tian.
Mo Tai frowned slightly. He suddenly realized that his daughter had grown into a young woman.
"Alright," Mo Tai looked at Nie Tian and gently sighed to himself, "he was not bad for a young man. Besides, he is the one who helped Ruxi awaken her vital spirit. Maybe, these are connections between them."
Now, Nie Tian cast his eyes onto Mo Ruxi and said seriously, "Mo Ruxi, your vital spirit has just waken up. You are not supposed to begin your cultivation till some days later. The cultivation can only be resumed when your body fits the vital spirit and experiences no turbulence at all."
There would a time for the spirit to get adjusted to the body when it woke up, during which cultivation was not recommended; otherwise that would have incurred the bodily repulsion of vital spirit, to the detriment of future cultivation.
Most people were not aware of that lesson. They were only too thrilled and occupied in the cultivation right after the vital spirits were awakened, only to put obstacles in the future cultivation. That was foolish.
Mo Ruxi nodded her head and cracked a smile, "You worry about me?"
"Basically." Nie Tian nodded.
"Yes or no, these are exact words. What do you mean by 'basically'?"Mo Ruxi muttered to herself, with obvious joys in her face.
Nie Tian shook his head as if she totally had got him. He said quickly, "I'm sorry but I have something to attend to."
Then, Nie Tian turned around and prepared to leave.
Mo Ruxi was somewhat disappointed, but she did not have a solid excuse to keep him.
It was not more than a few steps that Nie Tian turned around again and asked, as if something occurred to him, "Mr. Magistrate, I'd like you to clear my doubts for me. "
"Sure. This way." Mo Tai promised as he was now very interested in Nie Tian.
"See you, little beauty." Nie Tian followed Mo Tai, teasing Mo Ruxi before they left the boudoir.
Moments later, they had arrived at the Grand Hall of the Magistrate's Mansion.
"Mr. Magistrate, you go first." Nie Tian did not haste to raise his questions. He had read Mo Tai's mind and knew that Mo Tai had some questions for him.
Mo Tai was hesitant at first and then said, "You and Ruxi..."
"There's nothing between us," Nie Tian interrupted before Mo Tai finished the question, and then added, "only time will tell if there will be something."
Mo Tai was surprised to hear that answer from Nie Tian.
Nie Tian stared at Mo Tai, capturing all his facial expressions and curling his mouth corner from time to time.
He read Mo Tai's attitude from his reactions that he would not, at least, oppose the interaction between him and Mo Ruxi.
Mo Tai had been so curious about Nie Tian and so sure of his conception that Nie Tian must have experienced some amazing adventures.
Nie Tian responded with a faint smile and then a grave look, "Mr. Magistrate, I'd like to get a line on something."
"Go ahead." Mo Tai became alert when he met the firm eyes of Nie Tian.
Nie Tian asked, "Have you ever heard of an organization where its members have this tattoo of a bloody bat in the wrist?"
The tattoo of a bloody bat.
Nie Tian was inquiring about the tattoo of a bloody bat.
In addition to a powerful master of Moyang City, Mo Tai was also a sophisticated and knowledgeable man.
"The tattoo of a bloody bat." Mo Tai's face changed radically upon hearing Nie Tian's question.
"You know that!" Nie Tian was a little excited.
Mo Tai stared at Nie Tian and replied in a low and dull voice, "I do indeed. There is this organization where all its members have the tattoo of a bloody bat. But I'd like to know at first your intent."
"Revenge," The anger was burning in Nie Tian's eyes, and he was not going to hide, "Three years ago, those who ambushed my father and me in the Ripcloud Mountain got the tattoo of the bloody bat in the wrist."
"Are you sure about that?" Mo Tai displayed an terrified look.
"Is that a horrible organization?" Nie Tian frowned as he saw the nervousness of Mo Tai.
One could tell the terror of the Bloody Bats from Mo Tai's manner, who was after all the master of Moyang City.
Mo Tai got himself together and said seriously, "Nie Tian, listen to me. The organization is more than what you can handle. I don't know why they would appear in the Ripcloud Mountain and why they would kill your clans. But if you are seeking a revenge, I'll say 'Forget it'."
"Forget it?" Nie Tian clenched his fist and said coldly, "From time immemorial, a murderer of one's father is his life-long enemy. I don't give a damn how powerful the organization is or what the organization stands for. They have taken the road to perish when they murdered my father."
There was overwhelming power in the words and phrases of Nie Tian.
How could Mo Tai know Nie Tian's identity? Nobody was so powerful that Nie Tian might yield to him, not in the Three Thousand Small Worlds, and not even in the entire heaven.
"So you have made up your mind to revenge?" Mo Tai was amazed, "Nie Tian, let me remind you of the terror of this organization. It's way beyond your imagination. It's a giant monster for you at your current stage. You, or me, or even the royal family of the Blue Cloud Empire would not opt to mess with it."
"Oh yeah?" Nie Tian responded with a cold smile. The killing attempt could be seen from his eyes.
He was more worried of a weak enemy than of a powerful one.
"Mr. Magistrate, you don't have to persuade me. Just tell me the name of the organization." Nie Tian was indifferent and fearless.
"The Bloody Bats." Mo Tai squeezed three words out after a long while of hesitation.
"The Bloody Bats, great. I'll keep it down." Nie Tian put on his faint smile and his resolute look.
"Nie Tian, I don't care what you're planning, but I do hope that Ruxi will not be involved. If you get her hurt, I'll never let you get away with that, in the name of a father." Mo Tai warned Nie Tian.
Nie Tian stood in amazement and then restored his calmness, "It's my personal affair. I won't have Mo Ruxi involved. But not you, Master of Moyang City."
"What do you mean?" There was coldness and austerity in Mo Tai's eyes.
"The Bloody Bats had showed up already. And I believe Mo Ruxi had told you that I killed three Vital Spirits in the Ripcloud Mountain." Nie Tian was uttering in a calm and plain voice.
"Are those people from the Bloody Bats?" Mo Tai was completely shocked and terrified.
"That's right," Nie Tian nodded, "Last time they showed up in the Ripcloud Mountain, they murdered my clans. And this time, someone might be killed too. You know better than me of the Bloody Bats and certainly of their target. Mr. Magistrate, take the best care of yourself."
Words finished, Nie Tian left directly, not caring much about Mo Tai's reactions.
"The Bloody Bats... Could it be me?" Mo Tai did not recover from the shock until Nie Tian was gone.
